Pt.Neches is very improved from last year and if any of c.o. starting 5 come out they are an average team.Several Pt. Neches kids play on very good select teams SET HOOPS and Thunder.

No disrespect at all... But Nederlands 8th grade team is the 2nd maybe 3rd best 8th grade team in south east Texas behind Silsbee, and Smith/Vincent

c.o. 8th grade will lose to my sons Pt.Neches team, lumberton and vidor. They have a different coach this year, who plays all kids equal to keep parents happy.so the best 5 do not play together more than 2 quarters.

You lost credibility throughout most of your posts with silly claims, but to say they have a new coach and that he tries to keep parents happy...that's funny right there.

1 more day......I have good nederland basketball sources for the silly facts stated. Its funny if you think the nederland basketball coaches just like many do not play certain kids based on parent pressure and personal family associations??????? a few of c.o. starters would not start at Pt. Neches,Groves or even see the floor for set hoops or thunder if their parents were not teachers at n.i.s.d. or hung out on the weekends with the coach

c.o. is overrated.Simple to beat them keep the point guard #4 from driving for layups\assists,let the other guard #3 jack up 3s and block out there only big man #5= a Pt.Neches victory!

All that needs to happen is C.O not show up...Really guy...Just keep C.O from running jumping and shooting and P.N.G WILL WIN...BAA HAA      ..

You are out of your mind buddy. SETX Heat 7th grade beat Thunder by 63 points last year. And 2 of our best players are the 2 from Nederland. I am NOT downing the THUNDER or SET HOOPS but they are not a top program?

Diego has sources! I got a few too. Your sources must be B team kids and have an "excuse." SETHOOPs and Thunder? Come on. My little dribbler all star team beat both of them last year. It's good to get more kids playing ball across the tracks but slow down on thumping your chest w those teams. And for the coach hanging w the parents of this group, ehhh, nope. He doesn't like to beat teams by too much but you might persuade him. You will owe your kid and his teammates an apology for what will happen tomorrow. Get there early and see if your kids team could stay within 20 of the 7th grade.

Actually Mr.Cruz has some valid points png vidor & l-town are decent & could possibly beat C.O. WILSON, IF A team can do what Cruz said stop Hiltz from penetrating the lane scoring or dishing to The power forward Fernandez for un contested layups or Kemp for the open 3. Then u got to stop Burnett from scoring his points then there's The 6' 1" Lewis who u have to TRY & keep off the boards for ez put backs & low post scoring.Once those feats are accomplished than u have to stop the multiple points C.O. gets off the pressing defense that I hope the Parent pleasing coach does not stop doing the whole game. The district is lucky I'm not coaching this group anymore becuz We would try to beat the brakes off every team until the buzzer sounds & leave no possibility for a team to think about bumping their gums about C.O.

    • I played 4 years of college basketball... and knew at a very early age that it would be my passion.  I also played football.. and baseball in JH/HS.  During football/baseball seasons I got in a lot of basketball drills.  Before school, after practice, and on weekends.  I most definitely have a problem with using time for YOUR sport during time that's allocated for another sport. As I mentioned in an earlier post, focusing on a sport doesn't mean abandoning the others.  It just means finding extra time. Players that want to be great will do that.
    • well then I'm with you on the other stuff you stated.  I don't at all have an issue with a basketball player getting some jump shots in during football, or some easy BP swings, etc.  But I don't want basketball players doing box out drills, batters facing live pitching, etc during football, and vice versa on football drills during those seasons.  I guess I should've clarified my original post with the caveat that I don't think they should be doing major work in multiple school sports at the same time.
    • They could hire Nick Saban or Andy Reid and you wouldn't buy in.
    • No Sir Non Contact Drills, probably not a big deal. But even 7 on 7 with pads or just helmets is a recipe for disaster. Non padded 7 on 7 in a controlled environment, maybe.
    • Be willing to bet there are more people worried about the lack of success than success at Nederland. I see them winning 2 district games maybe 3 next year.  If you are looking for success at Nederland in the next couple years your best chance will be baseball. Time will tell but it doesn't seem like people are buying into what the new coach is selling.
