1. This is just my opinion..  If Kalis sticks around she will be one of the greatest players to ever play in a Lady Cardinal Jersey.  Once again, just my opinion :)
2. I thought UTA had a great game plan.  They executed it very well.  However, once that LU machine got rolling it was all over.  Kalis had some great rebounds down the stretch.  Brittney and Jenna pulled off some nice picnrolls. This team never quits.  Love to watch them play.  In the 2nd half, when Jenna jerked the ball away from the UTA guard that made her spin around I thought I was going to lose my mind.  She has to be the quickest little point guard i have ever seen.
3. lol, Thank God.....NO!! :) Sky Hickey has been grounded for a long time.  I talk about Basketball and my knees hurt....see, I need to go find some ice.
4. Coach Tidwell has put together a really good team.  I hope he continues to do so for next year.  This team is one or two players short of a playoff run.  Just my opinion :)
5.
Dang Bleed, I hope HillGuy doesn't take offense to that. What about this Barbara Hickey from Orangefield, she played at Lamar, 4th leading scorer of all time there, got as far as the Elite 8..Barb do you still hold the record for the high jump at Lamar too?  ;)
No sir, I never did hold the record.  I did 6' 1/4.  Someone in the early 80's did 6'1" from what I understand.  Just for the record i'm number 5 on the leading scorer list :) Brittany Williams passed me up this year.  1. Jackson 2. Simms 3. Williams 4. Gant 5. Hickey .  The coolest thing about this list is that #'s 1, 4, and 5 played on the same team :) I was blessed to be apart of such a great team.
6. This team is fun to watch.  I'll be at the game Saturday.  Keep your eyes on #5 Kalis.  She is going to be INSANE good.  She is already good but not INSANE good yet :)
7. You can make more money flippin burgers than you can make in the WNBA also.  In 98 I was talking to the Commits.  I was going to try out and was shocked when I was told how much I would probably make.  Overseas is where the money is at or was.  I haven't looked into all of that in a long time.  Well, since 98.  If we are going to go by High School achievements then it's important to remember that Travesa Gant was the number 1 recruited player out of the state of Texas her Senior year.  It was a big deal that she signed with us at Lamar.
8. I wonder if she is related to Yatisha Bosha from HJ.  Yatisha played in the late 80's and went to A&M I believe.  She was awesome.  The entire HJ team from 85-88 was incredible.  Jones, Bosha, Edwards, Brown etc.... Great team.
9. I had the honor of playing with Travesa Gant. Travesa was an extremely talented athlete.  I remember hearing about Pennee Hall when I was in High School.  She was the talk back in the day.  However, if Teresa Weatherspoon is eligible for this list then she gets my vote.  I played against Teresa my freshman year at Lamar.  I had the challenge of "trying" to guard her when I was in the game.  She was incredible and one of if not the best point guard I've ever seen.
10. I was impressed with the turn out last night.  Made the game that much more fun to watch.
11. We will find out how good our coaching staff is this week. I believe, so I'm gonna pick a Bobcat upset (would you expect me to pick against my Bobcats?) Orangefield 41 Silsbee 28
12. I'm gonna have to go with Orangefield on this one.. 26-21. Go Bobcats!!!
13. Congrats Allie!!! If you thought baskeball was exciting in high school you ain't seen nothin yet. So much fun. Good Luck.
14. This is insane... Not having this track meet is not going to do much in preventing the spread of this disease. Just my opinion...
15. wish I could have been 6'8" ...but only on the court
16. I went numb all over when I heard the news. Didn't expect this at all. You are a class act Coach. Good luck..
17. no, sorry I don't have very many photos from that time. All I have are on my myspace now. Not everyone had a digital camera back then or a camcorder in the stands filming
18. the ball slipped out of my hand on that one. It still went in but wasn't a dunk. In the same game I drove the baseline and pushed the ball over the rim. Channels 4 & 12 said it was a dunk but Greg Kerr on 6 said no lol.. Since I always respected Kerr I went with no Not that I didn't respect the guys from 4 & 12..Greg could hoop
19. Thanks Bobcat05, that was a very overwhelming experience. I was lucky enough to play on a FANTASTIC team. Hey coop how have you been? its only been a million years
20. i was hungry can I have it back please?? lol
21. The women's problem was they were too successfull too quickly under Barbre....and they beat the wrong people..UT and LSU on the way there. Why doesn't the NCAA take away everything UNLV accomplished or OU with K Sampson. Or almost every other program out there. It's a joke on how they pick certain schools or certain teams to punish. I'm with ABTR...the NCAA can't take away what those girls accomplished on the court. They were awesome. I still have my ring and they can't take that away
