1. Definitely agree with POY.  Thames had an amazing year!  This was a very tough district this year and he dominated as a hitter, fielder, and pitcher.  Congrats to the young man for the THSBCA game nod.  Well deserved.
Congrats to all the players listed!  I think this 1st team could certainly compete with any other All-district team in any classifications.  Good luck to all these SR's in the future.  Great senior class in this district!
  2. Should be a good game.  Crosby O-Line is bigger than its been in years.  They really are good.  Most sat on JV last year due to the fact that Varsity was full of Srs on the O-Line that the coach obviously felt obligated to play.  If the line gets it's act together early in the season, the twins will be able to run up and down the field.  Running game of course is Crosby's strong point.  WR corp looks a little green, but who knows what will happen there.  The big surprise is the defense.  Looks like the best D in about 5yrs.  Decent size.  Shouldn't get run over like they have the last few years.  Special Teams will be interesting.  Lost a 4yr starting kicker that also punted the last couple years.  Hopefully the season won't go down to the kicking game.

  4. It's all about the stupid, rumored racial comments.  I've been around the gentleman on many occasions.  He is far from racists.  If West Brook truly feels that the he is the best candidate for the job, then hire him already!  This is a coach that really does care about his players, and expects discipline.  He doesn't play the favortism game for any child, including a school board member's child.  If hired, he is hired to win football games and make his players better.  Not to please every parent or every school board member's child.
  5. Looks like Crosby may have found their man.  Per the Crosby ISD website there will be a special board meeting on January 10th @ 6:30pm to vote on hiring Jeff Riordan, current offensive coordinator at Sulphur Springs ISD, for the position of Crosby ISD Athletic Director/Head Football Coach.

Crosby lost almost all. JV was good but no experence.  Like that .500 attitude LOL. He may throw at ya twice. Ready to get started. Love the game.
Crosby returns 4 - SS, 3rd, 2nd, and DH. Also some of the JV kids got some Varstiy playing time last year. So they will be good.
Not one Pitcher is listed. After Gabby, Crosby did not have much last year, what do you have coming up?
Crosby has some pitching just they did not get many chances with Gabby on the mound.  You wanted to pitch that man every game it you could. The Jones(SS) can pitch.
they had a good kid on JV last year...  Davenport.... He pitched in fall ball and looked lights out... about mid to high 80"s.  He looked good from the left side of the mound.

A lefty is always good to have. Is he any relation to Ronnie Davenport?
Is he any relation to Kim and/or Billy Davenport ?
No relation what-so-ever.  Not a tall kid, but a very stout kid.  Lights out against lefty hitters.  Threw at least two No-hitters against JV teams last year.  Also got a couple Varsity playoff innings. innings.

What grade is the Davenport kid in ?
Davenport is a Junior.

  8. It should be a good game.  The one thing Crosby can do is shut down the run, as long as the offense can move the ball and give the defense a chance to get a breather on occasion.  Vidor runs a very similar offense to Barbers Hill, in which Crosby beat.  Crosby gets off to a fast start, but seems to have a problem killing the clock.  That leaves the defense on the field too long, wearing them down.  That's what happened to them against both Baytown Lee and Dayton.  Crosby had a two TD lead in both of those games and couldn't run down the clock.  Like I said, it should be a good game.
