My take on the game.Crosby defense stayed on the field all night. This is the worst qb Crosby has fielded in 20 years and other teams feasted on us because we are one dimensional. Nederland is better than png. And I love the fact that every player on Ned’s team came over to the track to shake Jaiden Howard’s hand and showed him a lot of love after the game. I hate the teams in this district never got the chance to see this kid ball. Well png has. 72-69 game was one for the ages.

I wouldn’t put it all on the backup qb. Ive seen him play all through middle school and he has always been a good player. He looked like he was hurt to. I think a lot is the bad receiver play and inconsistent defense and from what i heard bad leadership from seniors

  2. the screen in the pictures is the ipad.  there are no monitors in the coaches boxes at crosby stadium.  the coach said he was taking pictures not videos, which is also illegal.  he was a varsity coach on a headset.

the barbers hill coach and his scouts did not witness the videoing of the game.  only the ipad in front of the coach with pictures of the game on it.

either way, this is a big advantage for any team during the game.  any coach who has been around will agree to that.

  3. All of these guys are great QBs.  Rollison beat Beaver (and looked better) in head to head competition this year.  This was before Beaver's injuries.  I thought that Rollison looked better than CG, even though CG is a good QB.  Rollison doesn't have the athletes that CG had to throw to.  I've never seen GG or SB play.  From what everyone is saying though, GG is in a league of his own.

  4. I like TR's instinct better, his arm, accuracy, decisions, poise, scrambling ability, making plays ability, etc.  CG has a good arm and runs the ball well.  But CG has a #8, and #6.  The SS's receivers are not bigtime speed demons if you didn't notice.  They just run perfect routes and don't drop passes.  TR makes plays.  A lot of times tonite CG was just getting the ball into the playmakers hands and they (the playmakers) were the ones making plays and boosting up the yardage.

  5. You have got to be kidding me!!! Cody Green had one heck of a game. TR did not outperform Cody in the state champ game. Yes Cody threw a terrible interception late in the game but you see that in alot of games when players are trying to "make things happen"..  I cant wait to see the numbers in this game but for sure Cody Green played as good as anyone in the state in San Antonio...

Dude what game were you at.  The throws that TR made.  Unbelievable.  CG is a great player but he is not in TR's league.

  6. Would have to disagree that Dugat was the best player on the field.  TR never fails to amaze me.  He is in a league or a class by himself.  And yes RY helps put SS's offense over the top.  Dayton had several playmakers and their offense was a lot better than I thought it would be.  As I said earlier this week, without rubbing it in, I talked to TR about the game.....and at that moment, there was no doubt in my mind.  I came on here and said TR will NOT be denied the State Championship.  He played lights out.  As some of the scouts said to me on the field after the game, "He was the best #7 on the field."

  7. TR was OK.. He had Oak Trees for offensive linemen. they were GREAT!!! TR had a good arm and put the ball where it needed to be but I saw that whenever he got in trouble that he just threw it deep. Yes, he threw is 60 yards deep but it was desperation and didnt really have anyone open. But, with an arm like that you can just launch it and out throw everyone on the field. No big deal I guess. He still cant hold Garret Gilberts jock strap but he is GOOD... I look forward to seeing the matchups with him at Kstate and Cody Green at Nebraska.. If that is where he goes..

Have I mentioned that WildcatsRule still sux???

Never seen GG play, but I do know that CG can't hold TR jock strap.  That was obvious.

  8. You are right.  All the records, resumes (as you call it) and everything else goes out the window when the game starts.  But it builds confidence in your team when you know that you've been battle tested the way SS has this year and you've made it through the fire.  You know that you are polished and ready to go.  You know that you've seen speed, strength, size, courage, determination, coaching, belief, and the kitchen sink.  And you're still playing.  There is nothing that your opponent can do that you have not seen.  You have seen/faced the biggest and the fastest.  You've faced the most talented.  You know you came out of the loaded side of the bracket.  You know that when the opening kick is kicked, you will be ready to play.  You know that it is your year....your time.

  9. What SS fans are talking about is for most of the year there were 4 teams in our district that were ranked in the top 20 in the state.  3 in the top 10 for a while.  We also played WF Rider on ESPN before they had all the injury issues.  We also beat 3 undefeated teams in the playoffs, 2 of which in my opinion were better teams than Dayton.  SS also beat 4 district champions this year.
