Lamar Finishes in 6th Place

Houston Chronicle is now reporting that the Pedro deal is not gonna happen. A reporter for the chronicle talked to owner Drayton McLane and McLane says that he is not selling the team or firing, hiring, or signing anyone. The press conference also has nothing to do with steroids. I believe someone leaked out information and now the Astros are trying to cover their tails up. Also, McLane says he's very confident about this news conference.

Houston Astros are close to signing Pedro Martinez. A press conference has been announced for Wednesday morning at 8:45 CT in Kissimmee, FL. Martinez pitched for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic earlier this month and worked three scoreless innings in relief against The Netherlands. Martinez has a 214-99 lifetime record in 17 seasons.

Well all I can say is that Roc didn't shoot 14-49 from the field and 1-12 from behind the arc. You can point the finger at the coaches but the bottom line is the team wasn't that good. All year, Lamar shoots great, they win, Roc is the greatest coach in the NCAA, they shoot horrible, get crushed, Roc needs to get fired. Come on now, he just finished his 3rd year. If he had like 5 straight losing seasons, I could see your point. A couple of players should of have called it a season because of injury, some players should of stayed on the bench because they were horrible. Anthony Miles and Charlie Harper got great experience this season and thats only going to help the team the next 3 years. Other than that, just gotta look forward to next season.

Skyler Williams is no Alan Daniels. I don't think we'll be seeing Skyler scoring over 1,000 points in 2 years anytime soon. The team has no shooters besides Dawkins. Most teams have a solid 8 man rotation and we don't. If we can somehow rise from the dead and make the tournament, then anything can happen, but until we start winning, these games will give the youngsters some experience for next year.

Bottom line is we are not that good

This is just the first class. There will be many more players in years to come.

I know it was double overtime but 68 fouls and 107 free throws are just way too much. I've said for years that the SLC officials are the worst in the country. Those 3 we had last night were garbage. Tubbs was telling me at courtside that it was crazy how many fouls were being called and slowing down the pace of the game.

There was nothing that got me more fired up before a game than hearing cherokee. Bottom line, there's no doubt that PN-G will hire a solid coach. Hopefully they will get back to where they once were because I would like to see my old school make one of their runs in the playoffs. Other than that, I still root for every team in southeast texas because there is nothing more that I love than following one of our teams all the way to state. Good luck to everyone this fall!
