  1. I know G. ;) LaMarque should be the favorite and rightfully so by picking rights,,, but I dont think that this is going to be liken to a round 1 blowout game against some nobody team. You know I watch a lot of ball and I have a decent eye,, I am tellin ya' Lumberton is really good man, these guys can play football. Their defense is quick, hard hitting, smart, physical and disciplined but not overly conservative and they play really smart offense too. They are creative but not stupid like the Dogs have been before with playcalling and they dont make mistakes. I would give LaMarque much better odds against Waller than I would against Lumberton. Should be fun to watch. Gimme a call if you wanna hook up and watch the game. I will be heading over by myself to watch the game and then spending the night with a friend in Dickinson.

    I may do just that...

The key to the game is going to be the Lumberton defense.  I'm not sure that they've got the DB's to stay with the Coogah WR's.  The wind is probably going to take away the deep routes to #7, but I still think that the Coogah intermediate game will have a lot of success.  How tall are the Raiduh DB's?  (Look for tha Coogahs to focus on any matchup(s) they have against any DB that's under 5'10".)

  2. I know what makes comfortable and historical sense here and that is to pick LaMarque.. Thats the same logic of why many were picking Nederland over Lumberton. That is, that when it comes to crunch time, they typically win this game. But history does not win games, and things are different this year. LaMarque is not the unbeatable goliath that they have been in the past and Lumberton is a seriously good football team, not the Raiders of old. These guys from Lumberton know that LaMarque is not a super-team this year and they are coming to win this game, not just to enjoy the experience.  Yeah its easy and safe to pick LaMarque but its not necessarily logical to heavily favor them in this game. I would say if anything its too close to call because LaMarque has proven themselves plently beatable and Lumberton has proven that play to win and leave it all on the field.. And let me tell you something else Lumberton is extremely hungry and they are extremely GOOD. They are for real. They might get beaten by LaMarque and its a 50/50 chance that whoever you pick you will be right. But tonight Lumbertons biggest foe will be the La-Marque Cooooo-gah hype,,, succumbing to it will most certainly ensure a convincing loss. If they go in there and do what they have been doing they have a very good opportunity to shock the arrogant and boisterous Cougar nation.

It ain't gonna happen Mike... Even though the 20 mph wind has added a *12th man* to the Lumberton defense, it ain't gonna happen.  Coogs may lose to either Waller or Yates next week, but they ain't going down tonight.  You and I have known each other a long, long time and you know that I love to talk *smack*, but you also know that I can be completely unbiased when it comes to assessing the Coogahs.  Having said that, I want you to Marque this down... the L-Train (and everyone on it) is going to be given a lesson in *Playoff-101* tonight at Stallworth.

  3. Actually, I doubt very seriously that our players question their ability to handle Lumberton and secondly, a loss for us in the upcoming games ahead just means we will have to reload, not rebuild as we will no doubt be a serious contender statewide for years to come. Can you honestly say that about Lumberton...who knows? We very may well lose again this year however it won't be at the hands of the Raiders. After all, we can't be expected to win State every single year...that's crazy talk man! Some of your posters (past opponents from your area that have fallen to the Coogs in years past) seem quite envious of us as I've read quite a few posts that indicate they hope you guys beat us to take us off our high horse or assume us to be cocky. When you have been as successful as our program has been over an extended period of time (In our case 21 straight years in the playoffs) and have won 5 State Championships (that's pretty phenomenal considering that 4-A has 30 districts with an average of 6-8 teams) in the past 13 years you gain confidence in your teams abilities to succeed. Rome wasn't built in a day and our kids have and meet high expectations year in/year out in order to achieve greatness and keep the dynasty they have built for us intact. You don't have to like us but you should respect our program as well as it's achievements. After all, it's no coincidence we've made it to the region 3 finals 12 out of the last 15 years...our kids earned it!

Slight correction Brotha Coog...  LM has made the playoffs 18 straight years (not 21) and hasn't lost a 1st Round Game since 1985.  Tha Coogahs have also been to the Quarterfinals 14/15 (not 12/15) years.

  4. Coog4life how are you doing its been a while I dont know if you remember me we talked alot when my Indians played you in 1999 exchanged stats and stories anyway I think Lumberton will beat you guys this year if they can beat the Hype that surrounds your football team. You have admitted already that your Coogs are having a not as great as usual year and Lumberton is  a very good ball club. I know that Lumberton is a beatable team but I think they might pull this one off but not by many. However I would not be surprised if the coogs win.

    Goodluck to both teams.

Hey dude... Yes, I do remember you and I'm hoping that you're the guy that I actually met at the A-Dome *way back when*... I've been trying to tie the *screen name* of every PN-G fan that I've come in contact with the person from the *old dayz* and something tells me that you're the guy I've been looking for.  While the Coogahs are an extremely average team (by LM standards), I still think they'll take the L-Train, although the weather may enable the Raiduhs to keep the score respectable.

Anyway, lemme know if you are *the one*!

  5. SFA85 you are just a L-Town HATER!! You have never had anything postive to say about the Raiders the entire year!! You can get mad make derrogatory statements about the Raiders from now on!! One thing about LM is just because of their past playoff history I can guarantee you that when you look at that score board before the game there will NOT be any extra points for them being past champions!! Same as there will not be any extra points for the tremendous backing that L-Town brings!! But come Saturday morning you will be eating CROW!!

These L-Town fans take GREAT pride in their team, the reason they say these thing about these kids having their eyes on a playoff run since they were in middle school is because it is TRUE!!! They have been coached by Coah Credeur since the 7th grade so there hasn't been a change for them. Only the Varsity level.

Don't be a hater JUMP on the L-Train!!!

Can you smell what I'm cookin'?

If you spent half as much time on your personal hygiene as you do trying to think of witless comebacks, you might not have cultivated that impressive crop of zits that you’ve made a hobby out of popping.

  7. C4L!

Here is my old pal from the days of "the pig"! Good to see that you can still stir it up with the best of them!  Sorry they couldn't have made it double-header at Stallworth so you could see your second-favorite team........PN-G! ;)  Good to see you posting over this way.  I would say good luck, but I have to pull for my triangle homies!! ;D

It has been a long time dude... Hell, the last time we got together they were still hosting *triple headers* at the A-Dome!  You knew that I was gonna have to come over here to have a little fun, didn't you?

No problem with you supporting the *home folks*... you've always been a righteous dude and a straight shooter...

    Long Live *Tha Pig*!

  8. Now and again, a hog find an acorn, a ho-bo misses a train, and a team wins by 13 and only has 68 yards of total O enroute to the state game which said team won.  FYI for my hommie Luv Ya Blue, there are 30 lettermen and 7 starters from that team.....

The Champs are battled tested and had a week off to heal up and it showed against El Campo......

    Love the signature dude!

  9. I hope L-Train whips LM so bad that the players stop dancing on the field before kickoffs. The dumbest thing I've ever seen is guys dancing on the field. Play football, and please L-Town bring it to them.

They gonna b dancin' before tha game, during tha game and after tha game... They gonna b dancin' with them Lumberton fans... Befo' the night it over, everyone at Stallworth is gonna be doin' tha *Coogah Shuffle*.

I cud tell you whut tha dumbest thing I've eva seen wuz, but I don't want to hurt yo feelingz.

  10. Is this the same C4L from TexasPrepxtra? I heard all of this trash before, back in 2000 when WO-S took yall OUT!! Reguardless of the L-Trains playoff experience these boys are hungry!! They plan on eating Coogah Stew Friday night. As for the ear hole comment I am sur that will be going BOTH ways. There will be some Coogs JACKED UP come Friday night!! Just ask ANY of our 22-4A competitors. The RAIDERS WILL Light you UP!!!  ;)

One other thing IF yall are soo good this year why the 3rd place? I thought all Good teams came out ON TOP!!! ;D ;D ;D

Well you might have won ONE as a thrid place team but I guarantee you it will NOT be 2!! Not this year!! The L-Train is coming through!! CHOOOCHOOO!!!

You've been hearing it since 1997 and unless my memory has failed me, tha Coogahs have 3 State Championships (out of four tries) to go with nine Quarterfinal appearances (during that time span).  Tell me, where has the *L-Train* been while tha Coogahs were rewriting the history books?

You're out of your league and so are tha Raiduhs!

  11. They are the state champions, no denying that.  They were good last year.  This is a new year, and even though the Coogs are in the second round they will fall by 2 points to the L-train.  This is the upset of the week.  These players are hungry and want it bad. This will be a great game.

BTW, I see my old friend C4L is talking noise again.  I guess he's wound up because they almost didnt' even make the playoffs...Third place dude?  Come on now.... ::) ::)

LM won one of their five State Championships as a third place team...  Whoooooooooooooooooosh!
