1. Ozen beat Lumberton 79-47 I think. It was a pretty good game both ways
 2. I was told they beat Orangfield 59-36 and Kountze 67-38. They play BC again tomorrow at 3 for the silver bracket championship.
 3. It was the worst game I've seen them play. They didnt rebound, didnt shoot free throws, had 10 turnovers in the first half (they've been averaging around 9 a game) and for the most part just played more like 5 individuals instead of a team. They just didnt show up to play.
 4. Nederland beat lumberton 58-52. Worst game I have seen this year by them.
 5. PAM was also ranked in 5A at the time that they lost to/beat them.
 6. I'm not sure if you knew about that it not but I'm pretty sure that is why TABC ranked them. In my opinion though the only two rankings that matter are where are you standing at the end of district going into playoffs and where do you stand when the season is finished.
oh i didn't know that....so who did they lose to then. and yes i agree
They lost to PAM in pool play during the Nederland Tournament, however they came back and beat PAM in the tournament finals to win the tournament. So far this year Lumberton has beaten every team that has beaten them. (Westbrook, PAM, Dayton)

 8. Lumberton schedule says the same so I think it was just a misprint
 9.

I agree. That was for bucket who made a deal out of Lumberton being ranked. Well it does help with the girls confidence and as an intimidation factor when playing teams who allow themselves to be beat before they show up to play but as far as winning a game with a ranking. Not at all.  :)
Number 1s can be beat i never said they couldn't.  Tournament play is alot different than district play and playoffs....if you were a coach you would know.  not making excuse for teams to lose, but most highly ranked teams will often have losses on their records from tournament play rather than an individual game played during the week.... but i don't expect you to know that as a fan or a parent. i am unbiased when i make my remarks because i don't have a dog in the hunt.  im a basketball junkie....Yes its just my opinion, but my remarks are not swayed by an emotional attachment. congrats to memorial for winning.
Yes sir I understand that. I went to Hardin-Jefferson and was a trainer on the team. We started out ranked number one my junior yet and went 37-8 that year so I know what you mean. In the other post I wasn't attacking you by asking about a lower ranked team beating a number one. I was curious because it seemed like you were saying for a team to be ranked at all they had to fair well against a number one team and that seemed odd to me. To me ozen is beatable but Is probably still one if the best teams in the state. there are top ten teams that Ozen would eat their lunch. That's why I asked about it; I wasn't jumping your case or anything. And also, I am way too young to have children so believe me when I say I am not a parent. Haha

 11. I guess that number one ranking didn't help much during the game...
 12. No sir, you didn't come off as rude. I am the young man who sat behind your bench at the day today. I wanted to let you know that you're a good coach and I like the way you composed yourself throughout the game.
 13. This tournament will come down to who wants it the most. Vidor and Lumberton will probably end up being the big names here since they have both been playing well but at the same time Orangefield is pretty good. I haven't seen Buna or Evadale play so I cannot attest to how they will match up. Nevertheless this will be a fun tournament to watch.
 14.

Ozen advanced yestrday Sam Rayburn didn't show up. Orangefield will play tomorrow at 8am
Please check your facts before you make a statement like that. In effect, you are insulting a coach and a team. I have never committed to a tournament and not shown up, and I never will.
Are you the Sam Rayburn coach sir?
 15. Dayton over lumberton 63-59. Two lumberton starters fouled out either played the last 3 minutes with 4 players on the court.
 16.
no kiddin... im referring to lumberton fans believing in a TABC RANKING them #23 in the state in class 4A.... play ozen and see how you do
Would you expect a lower top 25 team to do well against a number 1 team?
 17.

lumberton won't win this....sorry to bust raider bubble, but don't get caught up in some ranking....theirs not alot of weight put on those. it just looks good. believe me they are not a top 25 team in class 4A in Texas
Where is Lumberton ranked?
They are TABC ranked 23 in 4A
 18. They're in the YMBL this week coach. The Silsbee tournament is next week.
 19. Coach Goad is doing a great job of building up the program at Lumberton and you're right Kenneth. The girls really worked hard over the summer league to get where they're at now. I'm excited to see them progress throughout the year.
