I don't think Buna can hang with Newton. Newton will win by a minimum of 2 touchdowns.

EC hasn't received much recognition from the pollsters but it doesn't matter. Polls don't mean squat and right now everyone's record is 0-0. EC needs to take things one step at a time and the first step is named Hemphill.

Depends on the quality of coaching they receive in little dribblers. If the kids are fortunate enough to get a coach that teaches fundamentals like passing, catching a pass, setting a screen, etc. I believe it helps them be successful in school ball. Unfortunately many little dribblers coaches were successful as HS athletes and are under the misguided impression that former athletic prowess equates to coaching ability. The kids receive little or no basic fundamentals and it doesn't get corrected when they get in Jr. High or HS.

Tramain Thomas from EC or Justin Williams from DV.

IMHO most head coaches receive too many accolades when things are going great and too much criticism when things aren't going so well. A head coach is only as good as his assistants and East Chambers has a great group of assistant coaches. These guys have worked for three different bosses in the last 4 seasons and still made the playoffs all four years. This wouldn't have been possible without the teamwork, cooperation & dedication of the entire coaching staff.

#44 Paul Trammell from East Chambers

From East Chambers OFFENSE Offensive Player of the Week was awarded to Preston Guillory who had 4 receptions for 70 yards and 1 touchdown. He also rushed for 40 yards and 1 touchdown. Tramain Thomas was Back of the Week with 149 passing yards and 1 touchdown. He also rushed for 85 yards and 1 touchdown. Lineman of the Week went to Scott Penny who did a fine job on the offensive line and had 1 reception. DEFENSE Eugene Leday is the Defensive Player of the Game. Eugene had 5 tackles and a recovered fumble. He made several plays on the sweep by taking out lead blockers. Paul Trammell had another great game with 14 tackles (2 for loss).

What do you mean I've picked against Buna every week? I picked Buna to beat DV and was right. I think Buna will beat Warren based on what I've seen from both teams and the fact Buna will be playing at home. EC is going to the playoffs and has to play someone. If Newton, so be it.

I know its early but who wins in this important 24-AA matchup? I'm picking Buna. They've picked up the momentum with tonights big win against DV. Buna - 13 Warren - 7

DV, Buna & Warren are in a 3 way tie for second place with 2 losses each. If Buna beats Warren next week and Deweyville beats Kountze then Buna will be second place team and Deweyville will be 3rd place. If Warren beats Buna and Deweyville beats Kountze then Deweyville finishes in second place and Warren will be third place team.

Final Score EC - 35 Kountze - 14 Kountze played hard but EC is 9-0!

That would be a tough game and I have mixed emotions about facing Newton in the first round. If you lose, you're out but if you win, what a confidence builder that would be and a platform from which to reach new heights.

Warren played the best against EC and Buna played tough for the first half against EC. EC shredded the DV defense.

Tramaine Thomas. One of the best HS players I've ever seen.

This is a game I'd like to see because both teams match up well. Too bad it isn't scheduled for Saturday. :cry:
