  1. This is kind of a scary game for Dayton I think. Im not saying its a must win but after the scrimmage games/practices, not everything is looking perfect. If for some reason Dayton drops this game then next week is going to be really scary. I just hope we can get a good confidence boost with at least one win before district play. I like how Stewart schedules these pre-district games. I think thats the reason that Dayton runs thru district like they do, year in and year out. No matter WHAT district they are in!!
  2. If its someone else's season to shine. Then please let me know who's season it is to shine so I can jump on the bandwagon too. Come on Jackhampster ANSWER MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
  3. I wouldnt write the Bronco's off this early in the season if I were you. Who's season is it to shine? I think that Ltown and Dayton shined last year. I just wish that Ltown would have won one more game in the playoffs. Actually I think everyone from both towns think the same thing.
  4. Eating crow after a scrimmage?? Actually Dayton's record for 2009 is 0-0... Every other team in the state has the same record. Why would we be eating crow. We will eat crow if we have a district loss. But, we usually lose to Friendswood before district play so if that happens this year dont jump all over us again and say ha ha yall lost to Friendswood. Im just stating that if you want to know anything about Dayton football just go back and check the record books for district play under Stewart.
  5. Dayton didnt open up the playbook last year early either. Why show everything you have when it dont even really start to count till district. Thank you for being Mr. Obvious and stating that Dayton lost their best two players. My freakin' grandma knows that. It was a practice. Starters didnt play the whole game on either side and no special teams play. I think everyone is looking way too far into this. See ya in the playoffs. Both teams should be there pretty easily.
  6. Yall keep saying "Usual slow start for the Bronco's".. I dont get it. I dont see it as a slow start. Stewart never opens up the playbook past the first page during scrimmages. Trust me Stewart has the ball rolling exactly how he wants it to roll. At these practice games he is just getting the personnel right and some game time expirence in. Good practice by Ltown and Dtown.
  7. Nobody said that Dayton's line is bigger than Vidor's.. They just said that this is the biggest line that Dayton has ever had. So, No they are not kidding.
  8. What??? Open week? Thats terrible for me and this is all about ME!! lol. Well I guess I wont be seeing my bronco's till district play. Man this money making schedule is getting in the way of my fun. Hey, Rollinac that enough of the Brokeback jokes. I actually had a rodeo last week in Wyoming and let me tell you, those folks take offense to the Brokeback jokes.
  9. Rollinac is like a bear that just wakes up for football season. You have the life! I am looking forward to making some games this year but them rodeo's come first. I gotta pay the bills. I cant see the baby blue vs. the purple this weekend but I will be at the game on Sept. 11th.. Who are we playing and where? See yall on that purple pride road!! Whoa did I really just say "purple pride"?? That sounds really gay. Well I guess it is more masculine then saying "Go baby blue!"..
  10. I think that Raidernation is a 10 year old from Oakland that got lost and found this site. He is thinking about the Oakland Raiders playing the Denver Bronco's.. ooops nevermind, those Raiders couldn't beat those Bronco's either. Hmmm,, all the similarities. You were right about knowing how the L-train fans talk smack. If anyone knows a real Ltrain fan talking smack on here its the faithful Bronco fans. The real fans keep it funny and respectful. I look forward to the week that Dayton and the Ltrain meet in the playoffs. There will be 100 pages of smack talk.
  11. Better than the older Dugat?? Do you realize how many Dugat's have been thru Dayton football? Im sure that you are talking about Michael but I hope he is as good as Mike was. Mike was a hard runner and would flatten you a$$. Him and A.J. were thunder and lightning.
  12. Scrimmage wins dont count in any standings, anywhere. Remember last year when the Dallas Cowboys went undefeated in preseason? I just hope that both teams work on what they need help with. Oh, and I hope that the Beaumont area Ref's never step on the turf in Dayton. EVER!!
  13. Im not doubting him or you. I hope he is as good as advertised but keeping with the thread, I just dont see him leading all of SETX in passing. Heck I hope that I am wrong. I just wish that I lived back in Dayton just for football season. Im so gosh dang pumped and ready for that stampede.
  14. I agree Backflipper that team in 95 was most likely the most talented bunch ever, really I mean Johnny Dudley was on the squad, LOL! You are right, Johnny Dudley was a stud! That guy had hands like glue and feet too. He actually turned down a full ride at A&M to pursue a career as a rodeo clown. Then there was Derrick Briggs that played for Tech. Rondale Durio played college ball somewhere. Brett Reeves went to Texas State and I think he is still in that school. (no he is not a doctor or lawyer) Can you say "Van Wilder".. Oh and how could I forget the infamous Russel Payne. The main man on the line, He was 6'2.. ooops, his 40 time was 6.2 sorry. I heard that he is still in Dayton and is the main man behind the newest and best High School Football magazine in the area. Im actually looking forward to making it back to Dayton so I can stop by and get a copy. Im sure Rollinac and liltex have already been up there trying to write articles for it.
  15. Well Im sure they have some talent in Tarkington. I bet those country boys can do some hitting. Well, hopefullly the new coach will find the strong points and capitalize on them. If not Im sure they can beat everyone at beer pong.
  16. Gilmer is too loaded. I can see Jasper scoring 14 but I cant see anyone holding Gilmer under 42. So I gotta go with 42-14 Gilmer.
  17. No way Ploch from Dayton. I love my bronco's but I dont see him having more passing yards then everybody in SETX. There are more experienced quarterbacks with more raw athletic talent in the region.. Heck in the district. I still expect the bronco's to sweep district play but I think its going to weigh a little more on the "D" this year. Yes we will still score at least 28 per game but I dont see 42 every game. Just my honest opinion and the question was "who will have the most passing yards".
  18. Dayton had the talent in 95 but NO coaching at all. That was BS (before Stewart).. Dayton is a prime example of what good coaching can do. The 3 years BS, were went 3 and 27 or close to that. Then all of the sudden one year later Playoffs.. I would love to see Tarkington move in the same direction. I have a good friend that has a kid playing for Tark. Good Luck!
  19. Yes they are 4A and a little more than pretty good. Over the last few years they have been a fixture in the state championship race. They are almost always a preseason top 10 team. Have fun up there and wear a cowboy hat, the chicks in the Ville love cowboys. (Not that I would know from experience but trust me on this one)
  20. Bragging on Liberty's soccer team?? I saw that the Liberty soccer team made $36 at the gate and $14 at the concession stand during their last game. Congrats!! Yall Rock! Does Dayton even have a soccer team? Well I guess we gotta have a team for the boys that cant make the football team. Just giving you a hard time Playa. Congrats on getting to run for the Tarleton Texans. They have a hellofa rodeo program up there and its a fun school without all of the big school problems. You will like it.
  21. Although the Liberty and Dayton would be amusing (for Dayton folks).. It should never happen EVER!! That would be like Brock Lesner fighting a Jonas Brother. Dayton has moved on since the 80's and the Dayton/Liberty rivalry. I think the Dayton/Crosby game is the only Hwy 90 game that is worth watching. Who can forget the fight a few years ago in Dayton the pretty much confirmed the rivalry. Liberty PLEASE I am begging you .. Stick to playing Tarkington yall will be better off.
  22. shure would be easier to keep up with dugat if he would have went to Texas.. Im sure he has hes reason for choosing U of H but I still think that if you have the choice of playing on the big stage with the Longhorns or playing on public access TV with the coogs, GO BIG or Go Home!! Just my opinion.
  23. I feel the same way. So, I still havent heard if it is OFFICIAL... Is it U of H for Dugat? I know its his life and not mine but, wouldnt you rather play for a National Championship then to play against Rice and Sam Houston?
  24. I still think he is way too good to play for Houston. The only Houston team that he should be playing for will be the Texans. I sure wish that he would go to Texas or any other school that would put him on TV every Saturday.
  25. I think something should be done about the re-districting every 2 years. Or, if you keep it the same and one team has a legitamate case about being in the wrong district, there should be an over-riding party that can make a decision on it. Prime example was Dayton being put in the "beaumont" district. I enjoyed seeing the Bronco's play those teams but alot of "tax dollars" were spent because of the long drive to beaumont or for teams like lumberton to come to dayton. Also, after some basketball games on a school night, kids were getting home after midnight. That should be handled.
