  1. Bottom line is they wanted to get rid of stump. Briggs didn't want to be principal but wanted to work a few more years. So perfect situation says king to his big buddy Briggs. I will make you AD and we will get stump out of here and you can still make your same salary and not have to do much of anything. So all king has to do is talk his school board buddies into going alone with this which isn't hard because they just love they are big buddies with the supt. and he plays them just like the last supt. did to get what he wanted. So things fall into place just like King and Briggs planned. So now they will try to talk someone into coming be a head football coach with the understanding it will only be for a few more years until Briggs decides he wants to retire. This kind of BS will continue to take place at ncisd as long as some of the school board decides it's not wise to become buddy buddy with the person you have to evaluate and decide if they are doing what's best for the district.
  2. Premieravp. Money is being wasted they will be paying the new principal, an AD and a head coach. That is one position to many. It is financial irresponsible of the school board and supt. to do this. It all boils down to the good ole boy system is alive at BISD. We be like that until you replace the school board members that seem to always be sucked in by whoever is Supt. and become his buddy. That cannot happen with school boards. Yow can't be there buddy and do what's best for the district there is no way you can be neutral in voting on critical matters.
  3. Well as a bc resident and the school wanting to pass another bond I dont see this as a positive in getting a bond issue passed. They will be paying basically an extra principal salary that is not needed. If Stump isnt doing his job correctly then tell him to do it or is contract want be renewed. And I agree Briggs will probably leave after a year if not before. And yes the Supt. take on it was a lot of hog wash. But thats how things are done in Bridge City. The good ole boy way. I can pretty much bet the farm if Stump leaves they want be hiring a HC only.

  4. Hunter had a great game and the defense stepped up when they had to. Orangefield moved the ball but had two key fumbles. Didn't like bc choice of pooch kicking on kickoffs would have kicked it a little deeper to try and make of have to drive further. But everyone worked out. They may have to run another back a little more because cold springs will definitely be keying on hunter. Good job Cardinals
  5. Bridge city is lucky to win this game hardin Jefferson moved the ball all night but hurt themselves with turnovers and penalties on Bridge City and Bridge City's offense is one dimensional. Give it to #34. We will be west orange next shut out victim and then like ever year it will come down  to the orangefield game again for the 3rd spot. If I am not mistaken if Orangefield beats BUna that will eliminate Buna, so it will come down to the Orangefield Bridge city game. If Buna beats Orangefield and Orangefield beats Bridge City it will be a three way tie Buna, Orangefield Bridge City. And then I suppose it goes to the point differential between those three teams. Think Bridge City will have to put up alot of points to beat Orangefield unless Bridge City's defense learns how to tackle, there tackling was terrible last night and has been for most of the year. And as far as Bridge City's offense their passing game is very weak. Number one the offensive line is very weak and the QB. doesnt have a lot of time to throw and two we dropped alot of passes las night. If it comes down to running game against running game I give the edge to Orangefield.

Thank you for restating everything I said... Except the Hartsfield business, he is a great guy, just think he recognized what was ahead personally...

You haven't a clue why Hartsfield left. He loved the kids at Kelly and he loved coaching there. I dont know you, but you seem to be the guy that thinks he knows it all and actually does not know anything. He is not the type of guy that would leave just becasue he knew his program might struggle for a year. WHy dont you ask him why he left or listen to the people that do know instead of trying to act like you know it all
  7. Think Bridge City's game this week will tell us a little more of what to expect the rest of the season. It was hard to tell against their first two opponents. They look like they have potential on offense with the two running backs. In my opinion they should scrap the spread and put the two running backs on the field at the same time and run out of the split backfield. They had to many dropped passes last week. Seems like faulk is a pretty accurate passer so they could still mix in some passes. I really see them struggling in the spread with the core of receivers they have. Defensively they look very young and untested. Think when they  start district the secondary is going to be their biggest weakness. This is just my opinion and time will tell

This is a good hire for Kelly HS. Even though this Coach Homes first HC job, he comes with lots of varsity experience and he is a former standout college player to boot. Certainly an upgrade for them from last season. Given that he is a Kelly alum with credible experience, it is a sensible hire by the folks at Kelly.

An upgrade from last year, what a stupid statement. Please enlighten us on that one. So what you are saying is, if this guy doesnt win a state championship this year then it wasn't a good hire, interesting.
  9. newton will win this game big, we are going to find out what kind of coach stump is this year. he has the talent to be competative, but in my opinion if he stays in the spread it will be a long season. I think there defense will be way ahead of their offense until district and if the offense doesnt  come around by district they will go 3-3 in district maybe 2-4.

From what one of the applicants told me, only two of the people interviewed were going to be called back in.  There was no guarantee that it would be someone in house or an outside guy.  Maybe Admin didn't feel like it was necessary after the first interviews.  Sounds like sour grapes.  I hope he did have a backup plan.

No not sour grapes, like I said I like Josh and wish him well just in my opinion wasn't the most qualified overall. Just my opinion. And don't agree with the way things were handled with the Welch, Huck and this. Just my opinion.
  11. well i wouldnt call them not loyal for leaving if they choose to leave. I would find it hard to stay if I didnt get the job. especially if I could better myself. Plus I know one of the applicants in house was very loyal, he was offered another job, a place where they are alot more successful, but turned it down. And since you said the board had more to consider than loyalty you must have been talking about administration wise, well the in house guy I was speaking of has a masters degree and several certifications versus well cant go there, so you cant say the hire was based on that. And from what I have been told only two or three people were involved in the interview process and the board never interviewed any of the applicants. So it doesnt sound like a board hire to me.

And to Gabe I never bashed anyone just gave my opinion
