They would not defeat either team. They should win 22-3a after Cleveland's inexplainable loss Friday but I'm not sure Coldsprings will last long enough in the playoffs to face either team.
Only time will tell in the playoffs for Coldspring, but I don't know how Splendora and Huffman lost to Cleveland. I think the whole district may have a shot to put up wins against Cleveland this second half of the season. Coldspring was not very intimated by the three-headed monster and even gave mercy in the fourth quarter.
What is your assessment of Cleveland based on, because the best that I can tell is nothing.
My assessment is watching Coldspring play them and watching from the previous four years these kids from all the district played each other from 7th grade up. I knew unless the sophmores won 4 straight National Little Dribblers or won in AAU like the Graduated Cleveland players did, they would not help Cleveland's problem. Winning at Campbell Park does not count. Huffman and Splendora played a better game against Coldspring and made them work on different parts of their game in practice later. I seen three better teams in district.
Here are the problems with your observation. 1.The game Cleveland played against Csprings was their worst performance in district by far. Even worse than their effort against Tarkington, if that's even possible. 2.And just as important, you saw Csprings play Splendora and Huffman on the road. When those two teams go to play in the shoebox Csprings calls a gym, one or both of them will get blown out in the same fashion the Indians did.
Not a Cleveland hater at all just tired of you getting on here writing two page essays on whose fault it was that Cleveland lost or ranting about how good they are when they win. I know alot of people from Cleveland and they are good people. But there is a difference between being a fan and being an overbearing, arrogant, banterer (look these up in the dictionary if you dont understand).
Oh, my apologies. I thought this site was a forum for expressing your support, thoughts, and opinions about the programs we follow and love. There is a simple solution cat001, when you see my posts, skip it!  :D Very nice vocabulary on the insults, btw.

I know that sounds funny considering Cleveland got caught with their pants down by Tarkington last week but sometimes the unexplainable happens. It will take one of Clevelands best efforts to hand the Trojans their first district loss but they are capable. It will help that the next matchup is in Cleveland. Finally, M Honcho, you're telling me nothing new. I've been harping on the Indians defense and rebounding all year. That's what great teams do to win championships. The Indians are a good young team, working towards being a very good team, and a lot hard work and maturing away from being a great team.
How bout a blowout of Cleveland in the first round? Is that a good measuring stick? Or a sound beating of everyone else in the district as well good enough? Indian you crack me up  ::)
Wow cat001, if you would have read setx22-3a post...see there's the problem, I assumed you knew how to read. My mistake. I will explain my post in terms so that the person reading this to you will not have to simplify it. In setx22-ea's post, he used last nights game against Tarkington as the basis for his opinion on the upcoming matchup with Cleveland. I was unaware that I was supposed to take your thoughts from his observation and discuss those as well. I also think it would serve you well to stop claiming to support certain 22-3a schools and own your Cleveland hater behavior.

 5. I finally figured it out. Every time that a team loses to Cleveland they should have won. I see a pattern developing, a real moronic one. The great thing about Shepherd battling was the only victory it netted them was a moral one. Congratulations Mr. Honcho to u and the Pirates on your moral victory. Since eveyone seems to love the three headed monster label, I think i will rename them "triple threat". There are three of them and it is bball so it only stands to reason. Feel free to enjoy this nickname as well. Honcho, good luck to u guys in the participation ribbon playoffs.  :)
cat001 before i can even think of furthering this conversation with you, please tell me, are you a Longhorn fan? Your answer to this pertinent question will explain a lot moving foward.
I do support the longhorns as well as a few other teams in district 22-3A, Cleveland just isn't one of them.
What process did you use to choose these certain 22-3a teams but not Cleveland might I ask?
 7. The funniest thing I see every week is Splendora in the top ten. Thats hilarious.

They lost to a very inferior Tarkington team that just played hard and took advantage of some Indian mistakes. Honestly, this loss gets laid at the feet of Coach Brew. Your team has a 14 point lead with 6 minutes to play at home and you lose the game. Poor coaching, it is what it is. To the three players suspended do to fighting last week, take a good look in the mirror boys because you own a big part of this loss as well. I said all along this young Indians team would be prone to losing a game that couldn't be explained and it happened, unfortunately. Footnote: the Indians dressed 7 tonite, 2 jv call ups, a player eligible for the first time this season, and lost a key starter (a senior) to grades. Those are just excuses. No offense Tarkington but this game should have been over at half time. I hope the Indians realized that talent doesn't always win. Sometimes it just comes down to effort and even the least talented player can play hard.
They weren't inferior the other night sounds like a bunch of excuses to me. Maybe you should just face the fact that Cleveland isn't that good this year and this probably isn't the last time they will get beat in district play. The horns also had two starters out due to injury (not fighting) and a key bench player also on the shelf due to a concussion. This game would have been over by half time had the horns made some free throws they should have beaten Cleveland alot worse.
All I can say to something like this is, HILARIOUS!

 13.
Tarkington must have forced some to's and made some shots at the end...good win for T.
Killed Cleveland on the glass and got a ton of extra shots. The Indians were so sloppy on defense. Tarkington hit a 3 with 6 seconds left and the Indians missed on their final possession to lose the game.
 14.
WOW!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o This has to be Tarkington's first win ever over Cleveland or at least the first time in many decades!!!
They took one from the Indians 5 years ago and that may have been the first time ever.

 16. The Indians have continued to play much better bball with every passing game. I felt that this young team would grow thru the season and start realizing their potential. The event that led to some of the varsity players being suspended might have been a blessing in disguise. The Indians have played two of their best games with the six leftover varsity players and two jv call ups following the suspensions. If the Indians keep taking care of business, the rematch in Cleveland against Coldsprings will be a barn burner. For now its one game at a time. The three headed monster of sophmores Baldwin, Howell, and Gambrell will lead the way. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!
 17. Looks like I stand corrected. My apologies are in order. I take back my previous comments. Since it was brought up though, I would like to add my disappointment to the enviroment created by the fan base in Cleveland or the lack thereof. For a program with such a winning tradition, i would expect a lot more. I love the student participation you see at Coldspring, Shepherd, and Huffman. They haven't reached the status of Hardin Jefferson's student body but they are working in it.
 18.
Cleveland will have to find away to limit their turnovers and CS fast break points and layups if they plan on being competitive in the next matchup in Cleveland.... They didn't/don't seem capable of keeping CS guards (especially Sykes) from driving the lane time after time and getting easy looks at the basket.... Would like to go watch the rematch in Cleveland, however, after seeing a CS player get jumped by Cleveland fans in the parking lot I'm not sure I feel like having to deal with the same type of crap in Cleveland...I have no idea why anyone feels the need to fight before, during, or after a highschool athletic event... There ought to be some type of extra punishment for anyone prosecuted and convicted of assault and battery at any type of school event that is held on a campus (kind of like the extra trouble one gets in if arrested with drugs inside a school zone)....
I agree with your analysis of the Indian defense. Its been a problem all year. They lack discipline on defense. For the record, the altercation was started by a Coldsprings player, a member of the girls team at that. They're game was way worse than the boys. lol
 19.
That sounds like something that would happen in Shepherd, you always have to strap up when you go into that place.
Thats a real well thought out and intellegent comment considering the game was played in Liberty! Maybe you should strap up your research process first cat001, then move into the comment phase of setx sports.
 20. The Indians suffered a setback at the hands of the Csprings Trojans. It was an ugly game in more ways than the Indians performance. I still cant figure out why those in charge at Csprings thought two officials would be sufficent for this varsity boys contest. Given the history between these two schools that is a significant oversight, if thats what it was. I'm certainly not blaming the lose on the referees but it was a factor. I'm really on the officials side here becuase they were at a severe disadvantage being a man down. The hostile environment was a little to much for the young Indians. Not taking anything from the Trojans, but they are a good team at best. The Indians have played far better teams this season but most times at a neutral site and that makes a difference. Its just one game and the Indians will rebound. I also expect a much different game when we meet again in Cleveland. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!
 21. The Indians continued to grow into a fast improving basketball team tonite. This was a very competetive game tonite with the Indians trailing by 2 with under 30 seconds to play. These young guys are really starting to believe and play as a team. I couldn't be more proud of the boys and their effort tonite. The Indians are going to be a tough out for their fellow counterparts in district 22-3A. Stay tuned. Roll...Tribe...Roll!
 22. Cleveland welcomes Splendora into 22-3A play with an impressive 63-49 victory at home tonite. The Indians never trailed in this contest. Roll...Tribe...Roll!
 23. The evolution of the Indians is not yet complete but it is moving foward. This past week they competed in the Brazosport tourney and there were some real positives. They dropped the opener to a good Kinkaid team but their progress was appearent in their second game against Bay City. The Indians played them in the second week of their season and lost by 36 points. This time around the Indians trailed by one at the half and eventually lost 65-51. Cleveland had every opportunity to win this game but their youth got the best of them. They missed so many layups in this contest. The Indians closed the tourney with a win over Stafford. It was a grind it out win in a game they trailed in the second half. Another footnote, the Indians dressed nine players, 2 seniors, 6 sophmores, and 1 freshman. I think their confidence is growing and they are starting to cut down on careless turnovers. Their defense is much improved and I think their best basketball will be seen thru district. Roll...Tribe...Roll!!
 24. The Indians took on a tall challenge in the form of a very good RB Terry team to begin their holidays. I would love to report that the upset was in the cards for Cleveland, but thats not the case. The Indians found themselves on the wrong side of a 91-59 victory for the Terry Rangers. This predistrict schedule for Cleveland has been like murder's row to say the least. Should help thru district play one would hope.
 25. Anyone who doesn't appreciate that FM Marcus team and their style of play doesn't understand the fundamental art of basketball. They play hard, they play the right, and they play as a team. They are very well coached. Everyone can get ready to see them again in Austin. I would take Marcus Smart as the cornerstone of my team any day of the week.
