    Well there is another change in schedule. Seems something happened in the last 3.5 hrs 

     

    Let the Conspiracy Theories run amuck!

     

    Just received this from Coach Erickson of HJ: 

     

    Another change: game vs HF will be played at home tomorrow and will be senior night. Game is at 4:30, there will be no JV game.

    Coach Erickson: *IMPORTANT*: game scheduled for 4/29 vs HF will now be played this Sat @ 3:00 per UIL policy (Varsity only).  This will be our senior night.

    HJ vs HF will be played Saturday @ 3pm. Uil rules states that only 1 game can be played on a school night. The exception is for a 2nd game for a make-up.  UIL usually will not let a school play any games beyond that on school nights.  Saturday was the next available date.  HJ had moved the game to the 29th due to a conflict with HJ's Athletic Banquet on the 27th.

    Check what i wrote:

     

    The key word is "usually". I didn't say it has never has been done before.  It is "usually" under special circumstances when it is allowed to happen. Unless there is dire need for the game to be played, they will not allow the game to be played until the next available non-school evening (i.e. Friday night or Saturday), or the following week if the prior days mentioned are unavailable. This is what happened in this circumstance. It was deemed unnecessary for the game to be played today or tomorrow since the game could be played at a later date without causing problems for any other teams in the District.  The next available date for the game to be played was Saturday. So Saturday it is.......

    District committee says hj hf have to play today. or if rained out today tomorrow.

    I think the price that was quoted was for both the baseball and softball fields. The District told us at the beginning that if one field gets lights, the other field must get theirs at the same time. The District is willing to put lights up if the parents and the community put up half of the cost of lights for both fields. The same goes for a Press box, bathrooms, concession stand, or any other improvements to the fields. Myself and several other people have personally been working on this for over 4 years which included moving to the High School from the Twin County league field. The problem is the fund raising is tapped out in the community. We have approached the energy companies the operate pipelines that run through our district only to be be told "no funds available". We have also contacted Entergy, refineries, ...etc to no avail. Hopefully more people in the community will get involved since this was the first game at the new field that got suspended due to darkness.
