Paul had several offers to play after last season including one from Central Christian College in McPherason.Went on a visit to ETBU but just never found a program he was comfortable with.He still plays just about every day and has just completed his first semester at LIT in Beaumont where he is working on a process technology degree. He was a well rounded player. Wish he would have found a good college program but life goes on after basketball. The best of luck to Andrews. Sorry to still your thunder.

#10 is the only true point guard that spurger has,I know #2 was sick,talked to him before the game.And #34 and #12 are good players but neither one of them can bring it down the court.That is why it hurt so bad with #10 out of the game. Not saying it didnt hurt them he can handle the ball and atack the press like no other, just saying thats not why they lost. If i remember the starting 5 for spurger played the whole 4th qrt from start to the horn. Spurger just did not capitalize in the fourth. they got a ten secound call and 2 Turn Overs. I agree though if # 10 or # 12 come out of the game for any reason it hurt spurger because they have little deapth and # 10 and # 12 are the only ones that can truely play thier positions. the coach and # 10 cant help that substitutions had to be made #10 got hurt. Nobody said that coach and #10 could help the substitutions, and trust me when I say I know this team as well as you and maybe a little better. This team is probably better than last years team for three quarters, when they learn how to play 4 quarters, they as a team will be play-off material. #34 #12 #10 are legit all-stars, Depending on how they finish games and play as a TEAM in district will defined thier season. yes it hurt spurger when #10 came out of the game. I agree, but can we both agree that it was not that substitution that lost spurger the game? The team and I say it again the team lost it in the fourth qrt. As far as this being a 3 qrt team I agree spurger cant only play 3 good qrts. At this time in the season spurger cant be compared with last years team simply because last years team had more talent as a whole and a good bench. But at the end of district this team will be better than last year.

Spurger always seems to play at the other teams level if they are good or bad. Not saying any team in this tourney was bad but the spurger record shows it. It is really wierd. They play cleveland by 8 and goodrich by 5 at goodrich then they beat other teams or lose to them when everyone knows that the goodrich's and cleveland's would run all over them. Spurger even led in the newton game and went into halftime only down 4pts.

Spurger has very little depth so when # 10 went down it really hurt them in this big of a game, but its not what lost it. Spurger was up by 6 pts going into the fourth. Spurger had about 2 to 3 chances to take the lead back when it was 50-49.Over the course of the game though it hurts spurger to have anyone go down with just 8 guys. Also # 2, a great energy guy off the bench that plays hard D every minute of every game did not play much. He was sick. Goodrich just was more composed at the end of the game and had better legs. And # 11 from Goodrich is the REAL DEAL. Stayed composed and hit big shot including 2 free throws to put them up by 3.

Cats by 8 or more. Just throwing this in the mix. Legget beat HD by 40pts Big Sandy will not blow out HD they are to well coached and intense. BS is not in district 25A1 so it doesnt matter if BS beats them they will beat evadale. HD and spurger will be top of the district followed by SP and WH.

# 11 for goodrich had 25 points and played the whole game his ancle must be fine. spurger was up by 6 going into the 4th and lost the lead 49-50 with about 3 min to go. Spurger #10 had 13pts 3-5 3-pointers #34 had 19pts 5-6 3-pointers #12 had 11pts Dont really think goodrich plays worse @ home because # 11 did not miss over 3 shots the whole night.

Spurger's depth has really hurt them in a few games, not only not haveing fresh legs but when someone is having a bad game their really isnt anyone else to turn to they just have to play through it. If eveyone is clicking they will be hard to beat. Like they said " WHAT SPURGER TEAM SHOWS UP "

I would like to know what they have because they have not been known for their basketball club in the last few years. What is their record for this season, because it sounds like they must have just shot the lights out against HD. Have they beat any other good teams?

Spurger Newton match up will be good game. Cant wait to see Evadale play. Hope that D-Ville will put together a better tourney for next year. They have had a great tourney in the past with teams getting to play alot of games. Guess they cant help that everyone dropped out.

Douglas George #12 had about 18 Daniel #34 fouled out early in the 3rd qrt. San Augustine Daniel #34 had 15pts all 3s Kacey #3 had 12pts Broaddus Chase#10 and George#12 had about 12 each Kacey#3 had 13 Daniel#34 had about 10 all I remember hope it helps

The two guards for WH moved in or are from JV? With a few guards it would be smart to play tyler in the post with his size.

Hope that no other coaches allow this to happen to their boys! It was a tragedy for the seniors and disrespectful to spurger and their fans. Coaches down in Leggett should be more professional.

How will evadale stop spurger and SP guards because they might have good post but they lack good guard play?

Hopeing to see the team come together tomarrow night. In the scrimmages spurger seemed to have only one or two players playing good at one time, five guys need to be playing well at the same time.
