In most cases I believe the best person deserves the job. However, I firmly believe it is extremely important that SCOTUS have some diversity. In this position some diversity can be part of the “most qualified” equation.

In fairness, the same news network has reported on PA and Beaumont low scores too. They reported on the higher scoring districts as well. I’m alway rooting for WOS but the low score trends year after year needs to improve.

I have no problem with him be committed to nominating a black woman. In fact, I appreciate him saying it up front rather than going through the smoke screen motions and claiming his nominee is the best possible candidate BS. I believe diversity should be considered when making up the supreme court. After a year in office, I finally agree with one thing he's done.

The job posting requires a masters degree. That may cull out a lot of fan favorites.
