we should start monday on new plan that will pass. In previous posts you have said you could support a small, less expensive bond. Why not start immediately on a new streamlined plan? Just wondering. So when you previously said "you could support a smaller bond"; was that a disingenious statement? How could a smaller bond with a minimal tax increase to meet minimal facility needs "screw the taxpayer"? This is not an original idea that I've come up with; you recommended it many post back. Has nothing to do with teachers, or portable buildings, or programs......As I have said in the past, I teach in a school district that really needs some new buildings, computers newer than 10 years old, a decent library, a new cafeteria, our teachers would kill for the salaries NISD teachers get, heck in the winter, my heater may or may not work.....Guess what, our TAKS scores are going to be very close to yours, all my kids are going to say "Yes Sir " and Yes Ma'am." My college bound kids are going to do just as well as yours, they are going to Baylor, and A&M, and Texas and Rice. And are doing well. Quit griping about you need new schools in a recession. You made an interesting recommendation to Nederland to reduce salaries to pay for facility improvements. Good Idea? Maybe you can recommend the same thing to your district to address the facility needs you listed at your school. While your at it you can get some new flags. ;D

I think I can agree the Rockets are done BUT they always seem to step it up and compete when a star goes down. They may make it interesting.

I sure don't know the facts but I feel quite certain that it was caught on tape, they will review it, and the final outcome will be based on the tape's review. Whatever comes of this will be based on the facts.

Whether it's correct or fair, schools/education is competitive. When every bordering district has approved bond elections the result is you end up with the worst facilities in the intire area for many years to come. Not a desired label. Some call it keeping up with the Jones but reality is its keeping up with the times. The comparable condition of a district's facilities can be a determining factor in attracting quality teachers, students, business and future home development. I hope Nederland decides they can afford to pass the bond.

I see a glimmer of hope. I hope the stros aren't just teasing us. Good to see them playing well against a quality team.

I think Faber should be ranked much much higher on the previous P4P, close to the top. I don't know if that would stay the same if he moved up in weight class though.

Thanks for finally clearing up your status. You should have done it long ago. It seems to me your biggest opposition is the tax increase and as I and others have stated, that is a legitimate stance. JMO No one, as you claim, has ever said that life can not go on with out a bond. They only claim that it is needed.

It appears that you are just having fun with this and its sad that you continue to try to break down Nederland's educational progress when you don't even have a dog in the hunt.

How are they buying their way to a championship? They might have bought some players lately but it hasn't worked LOL. Even I know that. If they were buying championships they would only have a loss or two this season and not be 6-6 and just gotten beat 22-4. Can't argue with that. If they ever win another championship (lol) it won't be as impressive from a "money's no object" team. I'm not a big Marlin fan either but I am very impressed with their success so far and with a minimal payroll.
