  1. The Evadale Senior Class got the field ready for homecoming today. It looks great! This is a time honored tradition in Evadale and each year the senior class does their best to make the Battlefield look presentable to all the EX students returning home and to the visiting team. This will be a special homecoming since the Rebels are district champs and hoping to remain undefeated in 23A and this is Evadale's 50th homecoming. I tell you again that if you have never seen the Evadale honecoming parade you owe it to yourself to be in Evadale early (to find a place to watch) to see the parade that starts at 10 AM. Everyone is excited about the live broadcast of the game on SETX Sports.com. The Evadale CIA (Christians in Action) Club are also raising money through the end of next week to be able to present gift cards to Sabine Pass at next weeks game, thanks to Chester for the idea. If you would care to make a donation you can make them at the game tomorrow. See everyone in Evadale and go Rebels! Has anyone seen my dog? He does not bark you know!
  2. The tape was delivered to KDFM and Coop this afternoon. Hope they choose to show it on the hightlights tonight after the games and then hope Coop loads it up here on SETX. ;D
  3. The tape is finally ready and with a bit of luck I will deliver it to KDFM tomorrow nad maybe it can get on the hightlight show and then right here onto SETX Sports.com Hope you are watching it soon!
  4. When have acts of vandalism ever been misconstrued as school spirit?
  5. Since you guys have said more about your JV teams I thought I would talk about the Rebels JV. They finished their season tonight and have a 7-1 record for the season. Those seven wins are against a mixture of JV and Freshman teams from all over the area. Before you say it, yes they did have 8 players who were not freshmen on the JV, but 14 were freshmen. This is a great group of young players who have two full seasons of games that they have played and completed in. For larger schools they take for granted that their players will have the opportunity to develop against players of the same age and skill levels. In 1A this is often not the case only two other teams in our district fielded teams and I believe one of those did not finish the season as they had to move players up to the varsity. The JV Rebels defeated, Orangefield, Deweyville, Colmesneil, Anahuac (twice), Hardin-Jefferson and East Chambers. Their loss was to Hull-Daisetta, hats off to the Bobcats for that one. This team is also the scout team for the varsity running the plays of the varsity's opponent all week for the varsity to prepare for their game. They in a small way should be congratulated for their part in helping the Rebels be prepared for their games each week. The Rebels will loose a large senior class this year, but with a talented group of juniors and sophomores already on filling out the roster on the varsity and this many of the members of this year's JV getting the opportunity to compete for spots on next year's Rebel roster, the prospects for the continued success of the Rebel football program look to be pretty good! Great job JV Rebels!
  6. Great Season Lady Rebels I know you are disappointed in not advancing, you did us all proud! Take the rest of the night off you deserve it especially since you get to change Coach Debbie for Coach Robert tomorrow. On to basketball! You are the best and we luv ya!
  7. Hey thanks for showing the Rebels and Yellowjackets the love! We look forward to having the SETX team in Rebel Country! See you Saturday.
  8. Evadale JV 22 East Chambers 6 Way to go Rebels!
  9. Hey Gladiator This is the defense that held WH to 0 and HD to 6 how many did each of these teams score against you guys? Rebels will ROLL!
  10. Way to go High Island Years from now a group of men will look back at what they had to do to play the game. But they will look back more on what they did for a community in one of its darkest hours. Continued success in rebuilding and good luck at homecoming! ;D
  11. Good choices COOP It is always nice to see names and stats of outstanding players, I just wish more people would nominate deserving players from their favorite program. Come on out and visit us in Evadale Saturday night, were the only game in town.
  12. To the Lady Rebels Continued success! You have all worked too hard and overcome so much to not leave it all out on the court. Listen to Coach Hollyfield. Talk to each other on the court. Play the match with pride in yourself and the program. We are always proud of you all and we will be rooting for you. We expect to hear that you have again made us proud by the end of this match and that you will continue to fight your way towards the crown. Go Lady Rebels!
  13. Rebels Swat Yellowjackets - Finish District Undefeated!
  14. Shows how little you know "Give Up" The Rebels already are district champs since the only two teams with one loss had them dealt by the Rebels. I don't believe there will be any nail biting going on Friday night as the Rebels want to close out the season undefeated in district and with momentum as they enter the playoffs. The Rebels showed alot of class kicking four field goals against Burkeville when they could have scored touchdowns easily. This game and next week Coach Williams has to turn the Rebels loose since they will need all the reps they can get as they prepare for the playoffs. You can't expect a team that hopes to advance in the playoffs to reign it in with only a couple of games left. I don't want to run the score up on anyone, but the Rebels don't do themselves any favors by not preparing in the only game situations that they have left. I believe that the Rebels have plenty of talent under center as you say and it is evident with game management and the low number of turn overs committed by the Rebels this season. Your last post was way out of line especially since you don't even know who you are talking about!
  15. Just to let people know we are reformating the video of the two plays and will have it on the site as soon as possible, hopefully by the first of next week.
  16. Rebels 35 Jackets 14 The opening shot across the bow. Let the bragging begin!
  17. I'm not trying to pick a fight all I know is that on any given night if everything goes right for one team and everything goes wrong for the other stranger things have been known to happen. Doesn't there always seem to be a couple of just off the wall upsets in every season? Evadale beat HJ probably not, but like I said strange things do happen sometimes. Good Luck to HJ and Colmesneil on the rest of the season and throughout the rest of this year.
  18. I know you guys in the upper classifications can look down on those of us in 1A. Thats OK we just take our shots when we can get them and this year the only time the Rebels and the Hawks were on the same field it was those 1A Rebels that hung the L on your beloved Hawks. Could be different the next time, but thats the fact the last time NWhizzle!
  19. CardinalFan I believe the Cards can take the Dogs and keep your homecoming picture perfect. Don't get me wrong the Dogs have a couple of talented players in the mix that can deliever, but I think the Cards can make it a great day in High Island. Good luck to both teams and we are still praying for the High Island community regularly.
  20. We will be happy to have you eagledado8. We have a good time on The Battlefield and when you mix what will remain from this years Rebel varsity and what is coming up from the JV ranks. Rebel football could be pretty salty in 2009 as well.
  21. Does anyone pay attention to 1A? Seems to me that if you have the good fortune of living in a small town you have the misfortune of rarely getting anyone in any media outlet to care about the 1A cause.
  22. Coach I have heard that Vidor's halftime is very special. I would like to see it sometime as I believe that high school football is the truest form of the game and that their is really nothing better than the Friday night lights anywhere in Texas. I know everyone is hyped about their homecoming (as they should be) I was just starting a new thread and I would love to hear about others in the area and the special thing they do. Oh and thanks for the invitation to Vidor!
  23. I do agree that the HD game was harder for the Rebels, [b]but I don't agree that the outcome would be different if played again, it is not our fault that the Bobcats can't play within the rules, it was our fault that Cook could not finish the game. If anything I believe the Rebel defense has improved since the HD game. Moot point since there is no way we even could play in the playoffs since we are in different divisions.
