  1. It was not the opening kickoff, it was after LCM had the ball and scored on the opening possession. #14 lost the watch for BC. He is a backup tight end and only really plays on kickoff return. He didn’t report he had lost it to BC coaches until almost halftime. Guess he didn’t want to get in trouble for it falling off or he didn’t realize it was not on his wrist. The question was brought up why did he even have one on, when they only have 12 watches total (11 now, one is in cow bayou right by the old High Tides as you leave Bridge City 🤣) and he didn’t play an offensive snap in the game in question. The only thing LCM was found in violation of today was the offensive coach for LCM was found in violation of “code of ethics” for not giving the watch to a referee as soon as he received it. His punishment has not been determined, UIL will decide that later. Him being suspended a game is total speculation at this point. FYI: each watch is about $500 and the total system which comes with a tablet etc is 10k. But the term “watch” is not what Smalley calls them. His choice of word is “band”
  2. vote was 3-3, it takes a majority vote for penalty to be taken of the alleged violation HJ, Lumberton and Vidor voted in favor of LCM Huffman, Liberty, Livingston voted in favor of Bridge City
  3. Cards at home? Gimme BC by 40. Bridge City is BACK!!! District Championship is coming home this year where it belongs
  4. Now the big question is: Will a 0-3 start be enough to get the Head Bear to finally put on a headset and get involved more with the calls on Offense and Defense?
  5. Just wait until the 2nd half when their depth issues start to show
  6. RB1 is fine. He’s practiced this week with no limitations
  7. I love this, count me in. I follow this district pretty close every season. Hope I can provide some good insight for conversation here.
  8. Week Two: Lumberton @ Beaumont West Brook (West Brook too much, Lumberton had trouble scoring against Nederland. I think WB has a better defense than Nederland does. More athletes for WB on both sides of the ball) Vidor @ Santa Fe (not sure, don't know anything about SF, curious to see how many passes Vidor threw last week against Silsbee) Livingston @ Needville (Needville has athletes, Livingston coming off surprising Week 1 win. Give me Needville by 14) HJ @ East Chambers (EC running game too strong for HJ. Saw EC has a good trio of running backs this year, EC leans on HJ and pulls ahead late in the 4th qtr due to HJ having depth issues in their front 7 on defense) Bridge City vs Kirbyville (BC just too much for Kirbyville. BC by 30) LCM @ Silsbee (Silsbee too much for LCM. Conditioning looking to be an issue with the Bears with 4 to 6 players playing both ways. LCM-backup QB, 8 sophomores getting meaningful playing time, bad recipe to be playing Silsbee. Give me Silsbee by 35) Liberty vs Splendora- (give me Liberty by 14 points. Splendora not as good as their week 1 result suggests) Huffman vs Houston Furr (Huffman bounces back after loss to La Marque, Huffman by 7)
  9. What injuries do they have besides senior QB still out? I'm thinking this game will be in the 42-14 range. Silsbee rolls in this one
  10. No direct relation. I'm sure with an uncommon name like that they got to be related somewhere down the line
  11. Backup QB, Struwe is locked. The boy has put in some serious work since the starter went down. Depth will be a problem for LCM as they have about 5 guys playing both ways. Give me the Bears by 40!
  12. BC is NOT back. My mistake.
  13. Bridge City is NOT back. I apologize for my comments from previous weeks
  14. No excuse, I’ll just eat my crow
