1. Looking forward to this game and getting the season kicked off. Even with a few starters missing in last weeks scrimmage the Indians looked good on both sides of the ball. I think Kville will have a hard time scoring on Cleveland, but we will see soon! IMO- 28 - 7 Cleveland
 2.

WOS will undoubtedly win, but it will be a very physical game.  Cleveland is very physical and does not give up.  They do talk some noise also.
One thing that WOS won't do is fall into a noise talking trap or fall for the "get in their head" routine. We never have and NEVER will as long as Cornel is the coach. He will not stand for that. His number 1 rule , above all others, is discipline. Trust me, I know. He will pull anyone and I mean ANYONE, no matter how important to the team, if they fall for that. People might be able to say negative things about the Mustangs, but lack of discipline or trash play is not tolerated.....period. The one thing that scares me ,however, is the people who have said that Cleveland will try to hurt you when you are beating them. It is hearsay ,but if that is the truth, that is classless.
I can assure you Cleveland does not play dirty, Coach Maple will not tolerate it either. Different people have opinions and that's fine, but these boys made the play offs also and we are very proud of them. WOS played Cleveland last year, I don't remember any DIRTY playing going on. It was a pretty good game until the two WOS players ran into each other, after that long break WOS put the pedal down. We know WOS has the team and we are the underdog big time, but Cleveland has a pretty dang good defense and we will see Friday night. our offense needs to do something???? We will need to put points on the board and this is where we have struggled. I'm just a fan these days, my son is a junior this year but has been out all season with a torn ACL over the summer. My point is i have been with most of the varsity players since they were 7 and 8 in little league, alot were at my house last night watching the Texans and talking about this game. Hurting players has never been discussed or would it be tolerated. They do play hard and they will not give up, we as Cleveland fans are looking for a good game. I pray GOD keeps all of the boys playing Friday night safe and injury free. Good luck to both teams
Unless Huffman gets beat, WOS will play the winner. If Huffman loses and Cleveland wins, then Cleveland plays Silsbee and Shepherd gets WOS.  Either way, WOS should not have much trouble.  They would blow out Shepherd bad, and put a pretty good whippin on Cleveland.  The biggest difference is that Cleveland plays much rougher and dirtier, and might cause WOS some issues with injuries that would hurt them later in the playoffs.  They tried everything they could to take out Coldspring players last week.
You really think Cleveland hurt the player on purpose? There was no intentional injury caused. Can no one hit hard or play tough with the All Mighty Trojans without being accused of playing dirty?
^^^ Good post.  Cleveland's defense HITS and they play hard from whistle to whistle. Good for them.  Football is a rough sport.  Injuries happen.
Shepherd doesn't have the speed to beat Cleveland. Cleveland doesn't have the speed to beat WOS. WOS D HITS. Cleveland's D, not so much.
Not so much!! really.. and how did you come up with this rocket science of an opinon??? Cleveland's D is what has kept them in it this season, they play hard and hit hard.....
 4.

Which Cleveland football player was on the news for a scandal or crime? Don't base your opinion of Cleveland kids on something that someone in the past did. I am sure there was a murder of some sort in Houston tonight ... Are all Houston residents murderers? Get over yourself. As for the injury . . . It most likely occurred during play. It's football, it happens. I hope the young man heals and is able to return.  if he gets the chance to at college ball, I pray he is able.
Are you from Cleveland? Thats why they have metal detectors. (Everyone from the district should have metal detectors when Cleveland comes to their campus.) Lets see a quote from the news on just one incident,"Those charged included two top athletes at the local high school and adults with criminal records.". Wasn't the last AD fired or resigned after a fight was caught on video just before the 2010 play-offs and there was a scandel to cover it up? This type of stuff has been happening since I was in school in the '80's. My statement was "usually the kids are a bi-product of the adults" which means just keep watching the news. Hence the recent Wal-mart incident was probally a kid from the Cleveland School or a kid that grew up to be an adult that went to the Cleveland School.
Are you done running down the entire town and school over the actions of a few, I'm from Cleveland and I'll tell you first hand that the good people from here do not like the crap that has went on in the last few years either. I will also tell you that you are judging our community and school over the actions of a few idiots that are a complete waste of oxygen. We work hard, teach our children right from wrong just like everyone else does. look at this past game, some of you have highlighted some bad attitudes from a few players, Coldspring also had a few with bad attitudes. I didn't see any comments on Cleveland and Coldsprings players showing good sportsmanship helping each other up off the field, I seen several times after a big play, each team giving the other a tap on the helment or back for making a good play. I seen and heard Coach Maple pull the team into a huddle and tear them up over the actions of a couple during the game. My point is Cleveland has a ton of great role models, coaches, parents and students that are doing the right thing everyday and they don't deserve the remarks being made. As for the metal detectors, they have been in place since the Coldspring/Cleveland basketball game a few years ago and that was a couple of stupid fans, not students. they are for everybodies safety! Do we like them in Cleveland? NO! but I also don't like them at Reliant when i go see the Texans or the airport, but I understand..
 5. Hey, I said it above.. Coldspring is the team to beat. Coldspring beat the wheels off Cleveland last year, but this is not the same Cleveland team as last year, just like it's not the same Coldspring team. You can be beat and you have been beat this year, saying Cleveland shouldn't consider beating Coldspring is foolish. but you are right, we will see in the weeks to come..
 6. Being this is your first post, I will answer all three questions.. 1) Coldspring vs Tarkington, really!!!!! 2) Will anyone in 22-3A test them? They are the team to beat, I believe Cleveland and Huffman will play them hard and could upset Coldspring. 3) Deep Playoff push, Yes! they are a good team, lots of talent, well coached...
 7. IMO Liberty would need to play a perfect game to even be in it until halftime, Huffmans pass attack will be to much. Huffman by alot..
 8. I have not seen Splendora this year, looking forward to this game. I got Cleveland 34 Splendora 14
 9. Seems like it might be a defense game but I still think clev def will not stop tarkington.  I also think tarkintgon plays better def than what the indians have faced this year.  I am sure cleveland doesn't mind losing though . . . . they get to start bball sooner. [/quote Please tell me out of Huntington 0-4, Hardin 1-2, Hardin-Jefferson 3-1 and Houston 1-4 who has the better defense that Tarkington has faced? You will see Friday night what a defense looks like and who has the better one. Have you even seen Cleveland Play?
 10.
Maxpreps has Tarkington playing 2 different schools friday , 1 is in Louisiana and the other is in Houston. Does anyone know which one it was? By the way both are named Sam Houston.
I believe it was a school out of Lake Charles LA. Houston Sam Houston

Tarkington has no chance, our defense will destory them. They will not run on us, will need to pass the ball to beat Cleveland and they do not have the line to protect the QB that long.  42-7 Cleveland wins..
Last week Tarkington's QB threw for 3 TD's and ran for 2. Tarkington can toss it around a little so don't be so quick to judge
I didn't say that he can't toss it around, I said he will not have time..Don't get me wrong, I do see that Tarkington has made great improvments this season and they will win some games, but not this one.

 13.
With the exception of Coldspring and Huffman, they should have a shot at winning the others.  I have a hard time seeing them lose to Tarkington.
Liberty will be lucky to score against the Cleveland Defense!!! A shot at winning the others, not the way they are playing.....
 14. We need our O-line to improve alot more, if they start getting it together we would pass more. We only returned one lineman and he was also out with an injury last week. Defense has been doing a good job, they will only get better. looking for a good season from our Indians. Roll Tribe...
 15. With Seals-Jones out for a few weeks, how will Sealy look against Cleveland?
 16. Well one thing is for sure, we will find out Thursday night. our defense has played great so far this year. Have they been tested, HJ didn't, Diboll looked to have everything to make a great scrimmage, but that didn't work out for them. Will Cleveland beat Kirbyville and Hold them to 7points? I don't know, I have not seen Kirbyville in a few years. I'm ready to see Cleveland go 4 quarters and Kirbyville should be a great game. I do know that our O line needs to show up, only returning two, both Juniors. They have improved over the last few weeks, but still have work to do. Cleveland wins in low scoring game. Good luck to both teams....
 17. Scrubs, wow! 08 and 09 Cleveland was the district Champs, 10 and 11 Coldspring was the district champs. In the past 4 years Huffman has not come out on top. yes Huffman has had a good team the past 2 years, but still not enough to win the district. you also have yourself placed with Coldspring and everyone under you are scrubs, in the past 4 years you are 2-2 with one of the scrubs. Cleveland has struggled the past couple of years, but they are building don't count them out.
 18. Looking forward to August 30th, I believe this will a good season for Cleveland.. good luck to all
 19. Tired of hearing about Liberty and how they only lost due to players being hurt. At the end of the 1st quarter it was 0-0. Starting the second Cleveland got picked on our own 35 and Liberty had to settle for 3 on the field goal. Then Liberty held Cleveland and on the punt we had a high snap, over the kickers head and Liberty recovered on our 19. they still settled for 3 on the field goal. Cleveland then fumbled on our 42 and Liberty got a TD and the extra point before halftime. 2nd quarter ended 13-0 Liberty. All three score were due to Cleveland mistakes and great field posistion. Starting the third Liberty scored in two plays up 7 more, then Cleveland returns about a 70 yard kick off for 7. Liberty fumbles on the 50, Cleveland turns it into 7 more. both teams then score 7 each before the end of the third, 3rd quarter 27-21 Liberty. Starting the 4th Liberty kicked for 3, then Cleveland scored 3 TD's missing the extra point on one. Liberty scored a TD and it's over. Final 36-42 Cleveland. 1st 0-0 , 2nd 13-0 Liberty, 3rd 27-21 Liberty 4th 36-42 Cleveland by the sound of the post, Liberty was up 30 points, everybody got hurt on Liberty D and Cleveland ran up and down the field for the win. it's over, let's get ready for the new season......
 20. In the double digits now, looks even closer....come on
 21.

I am not saying we should have won, I said we could have, Liberty dropped some key passes, and turnovers killed them, but like you said, it is part of the game. What I was saying is that on another day Who knows maybe the two td passes would have been caught, and special teams would have held on to the ball maybe not idk. either way Liberty could have hung with Huffman player for player Liberty and Huffman are actually very close. This next year who knows, Liberty lost 4 veteran O-lineman so if they get that sorted out, then maybe next year is the year when Liberty takes out its revenge on Huffman i am not saying it will happen, however i will not be surprised if it does.
If Huffman Liberty are so close why did yall lose to Cleveland and we beat them by 40? why did you lost to CS by 50 and we lost by 17? The Huffman Liberty score will be similar to 2010. If Liberty comes within 21 that is a victory.
Because once again you are relying on scores to make your statements. Cleveland was down 20-0 to Liberty to start the 3rd, at that point Liberty lost their second inside sam line backer, we dont have 4A enrollment, when you lose TWO guys at the SAME position, and just stick a guy out there who's a heck of an athlete, but for one he was only a sophomore and two even if he was a senior it's hard to learn how to play sam linebacker in 24 minutes, especially when Cleveland's strength was their inside run game of Franks. As the D fell apart miserably the right things happened for Cleveland at the right time, they got their only stop the whole game, and with Liberty's luck that came at the same time they lost their defensive momentum, so with no momentum on either side of the ball, and an injury filled defense Cleveland had every shot in the world to win the game and they still only won by 5, you don't know how happy it makes us Panther fans to see that Cleveland post about "yall" are only worried about CS and Huffman, that's great because although we are mainly focused on them 2, I'm sure Coach Deel won't let our team forget the embarassing loss to a team we were TWICE as good as, and I'm sure he won't let those players forget the torn faces of the seniors after the game, and I'm sure he will let them know that they do not want to be in that same position as they were last year, sitting at home while a team not as talented as you gets a playoff shot. We won't be over looking Shepherd, Splendora, or Tarkington either, because they now know that anything is possible, and I've watched the class of 2013 since 7th grade, they never had a problem with Huffman's 2013 on the football field, thats minus your move ins in Austin Williams and Townley, but either way the Panthers will be ready next year. [/quote) If you are talking about my post, read it again. I never said we were only worried about Huffman and Coldsprings. I said, we are focused on them two, I also was talking about the Juniors that are returning next year. Never said we were worried about anyone, they will be ready for Liberty also and every other team on the schedule. Most of my opinions comes from the class of 2014 point of view, that is my sons class and most of them boys are in and out of my house everyweek,as was big Dennis when he was in Cleveland. Liberty has not beat this class of boys in 4 years. Is Liberty a good team (yes) twice as good as Cleveland (no)

Seems we have made the news alot in the last year, alot more than i would like. but on the other side we have a ton of great families in Cleveland that are trying hard to make a difference. we alos have a ton of kids in the school that are working hard, passing and not getting in trouble. crap hole, maybe to you...but it's our home don't put everyone in Cleveland in the same catagory please.
You're absolutely right. Cleveland does have some great people. The school has had it's problem, but hopefully they are going in a new direction I hear the new AD is a very good man. I am sorry for my comments. It just makes me mad when people try to say that Huffman is only good, because of our size or because we got some move ins.
