The games with Dayton and Friendswood were not very competitive. I think that LT and Cibolo Steele are in a different league than the Region 3 teams and that will be proven again this year. I would put Longview as #1, Lake Travis at #2 and Cibolo #3 in the state this year. 0 Back to top MultiQuote Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #42 #1jayhawk Rookie Group:Active Roster Posts:2 Joined:21-July 09 Referred by:mePosted 22 July 2009 - 06:12 AM ltcav83, on 21 July 2009 - 01:47 PM, said: Biggie, One thing Lake Travis has proven over the last two years is that Region 3 ( in regard to 4A schools ) is not very competitive. We were a very good team ,but LT was a great team. LT is a boarder line 4a/5a school with all the money and fanfair to go with it and I guess you've earned the right to be smug. In the 08 playoffs Steele was more than competitive with you guys ! and during the season Tivy beat Steele and Dayton beat Tivy. Your march to the 09 playoffs may not be a cake walk this year not matter what Region you go through. On a side note your QB.(G.Gilbert) must of made over a dozen phone calls last year to Dayton's "All American WR,-AJ Dugat)to try and covince him to go UT. with him. 0 Back to top MultiQuote Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #43 ltcav83 Rookie Group:Active Roster Posts:8 Joined:21-July 09 High School:lake travis Referred by:google searchPosted 22 July 2009 - 07:22 AM Not trying to smug just matter of fact. Message boards are that way sometime. Dayton was a good team and Dugat was an excellent player. The point I was trying to make is that LT is on another level. And if they go thru their non district schedule undefeated ( Westlake, Cedar Park and Westwood ) then they have proven that they have a great chance to Three Peat. Who is the Region 3 favorite this year? 0 Back to top MultiQuote Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #44 #1jayhawk Rookie Group:Active Roster Posts:2 Joined:21-July 09 Referred by:mePosted 22 July 2009 - 08:03 AM ltcav83, on 22 July 2009 - 07:22 AM, said: Not trying to smug just matter of fact. Who is the Region 3 favorite this year? To be honest I really could'nt tell you ? Heard Angleton going to be good and we will find how good Friendswood is when we play them in our second non-district game. Rumor has it that several 5a schools in our area will be stepping down to 4a next year (Humble,Baytown Lee, Baytown Sterling ) maybe a few others also, could cause the making of a new district. Daytons tenth game this year is gong to be against LBJ Austin (at Austin) can you tell me anything about them? 0 Back to top MultiQuote Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #45 biggie105 Varsity Backup Reserve Group:Active Roster Posts:111 Joined:13-December 07 Location:Houston High School:Willowridge Referred by:webPosted 22 July 2009 - 08:28 AM I wont take anything away from LT because until someone beats them, they can talk. You say they have been good over the last 2 yrs; I believe if LT had been in Div I in 07, Lamar Consolidated would have beaten them. This year will be the judge because I believe that team has been all Gilbert. With as much money pumped into the program, that school should always be competitive. 0 Back to top MultiQuote Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #46 ltcav83 Rookie Group:Active Roster Posts:8 Joined:21-July 09 High School:lake travis Referred by:google searchPosted 22 July 2009 - 09:18 AM #1jayhawk, on 22 July 2009 - 08:03 AM, said: To be honest I really could'nt tell you ? They have excellent team speed and are fairly well coached. I look forward to seeing how that matchup goes

  3. OK-- I give up, whose going to be taking the snaps ???
  4. I'm looking foreward to see Payton Ploch at the helm, looks like the Broncos are going to be an excellent team again.
  5. I hope Xavier lives up to your expectations, but saying he's a better athlete because he's a little faster and bigger is a little over the top. AJ Dugat was a rare talent that could impact the game on any play on either side of the ball, when Xavier makes first team all American (and I hope he does) then maybe your remarks will have some validity.....

  7. Got my copy last week from 99.9 ( radio station in Liberty) Was really fun watching the game again in the comfort of my living room. After every down they did an instant replay. The only hitch is the DVD is from SS with their commentators calling the game, but they were real respectful and impressed with the Bronco's. As of date there are 5 copies left at the station - 936 336 5793 - $20.00 -
  8. ----I'm in complete agreement--"AJ" is in a class all his own,not even close !
  9. Personally, I don't think its relative to compare elite athletes as far as saying one is better than the other therefore casting a shadow on the runner-ups. To me that's just politics like comparing the apples to oranges thing. Each athlete as there own particular set of attributes with very little down side, bottom line its called talent .One person or team might prefere one over the other and that's fine, but to try and promote your choice by looking for a blemish in the other isn't fair or objective. The SS/Dayton state final was the most exciting game I ever witnessed, talent boiling over on both sides. And after seeing Tyrik Rollison for the first time I was very impressed with his speed, skill and his precision passes. How many teams would kill to have a Ty Rollison,Cody Green, and my favorite AJ Dugat winning games for their school !!!
  10. To all of the Bronco football players -- you made history and all us fans are very proud of you. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Congrats to the SS Wildcats you guys had a great team and played a great game !!!
  12. no doubt here... But hey check the article on the other thread - your coaches are planning hard... maybe a little doubt there? And your coaches aren't--- come down to earth dude your starting to OD on your own fanfair--- You guys afraid to post objective articles ( and don't tell me there are any) from SS about Dayton come on wheres the love...
  13. Or just ask the Lobos or Tx high they said it wasn't that big of deal---
  14. Wildcat-- Did you sneak off to the computer room again? Hold on I hear something--- its yo momma calling you "Jr. its time for bed and don't forget your Teddy.
  15. Did that work against the Lobo's and Tx High -- Don't you have to wait til the ref. puts the ball down ?
  16. Are you sure your not from Tivy ---Thats what they said--smack and more smack--
  17. civil maybe --- nice is asking a little to much--- we have a couple of guys that go both ways ( don't get any ideas were talking on football field )#8 AJ DUGAT has made two game winning interceptions in the playoffs thus far )
  18. I think were dealing with a stampede of Unicorns instead of Broncos lol. I like that !!!
  19. Doubt it. We're averaging 40+ per game against GOOD opponents. Dayton is giving up an average of 16 against JV teams. We'll hang 50. To be fair, I think you have nailed Dayton's score. ;D Against average teams SS scores alot of points : against good teams SS chokes, hence their 2 losses and Saturday SS will experiece their "3" and out final loss----now wheres that Teddy Bear -- Not true Look at our last three victories... Against previously unbeaten opponents. SS put up 42, 52, and 47. Stats count, just use them in context. An East Texan Educated boy can understand that much. You can paperwhip us all day long--Tivy did the same thing (and they were more than likely a better team than SS ) BS is cheap see ya at the game where reality wins out over fantasy...
