1.
Haha yea sorry for the hiatus....moved over here to Missouri City and finally got settled in enough to check on the scores.  Almost fell out of my chair when I saw Dayton was 0-3.  Saw game 1 against Elkins and the offense looked ok but turnovers were the undoing.  I figured they'd have it together enough to beat Angleton and/or Eisenhower.  Missed the 1st half but finally got to hear Wadzeck's call tonight right after half.  Not getting to see the boys in person anymore kinda sucks but Ripkowski sure looks like one heckuva stud.
Our defense is extra special this year and Rip is a monster LB and every QB's night-mare as well as #65 D. Wright its going to be a fun season you really need to make it to some of the games though .
 2.
Trust me I will.  The three academies all run a varied version of the spread option/wingbone and it suits them fairly well.  The reasoning from the "athletic directors" at the academies is "it's a simple offense that allows us to be effective and competetive with our limited practice time as compared to other D1 programs.  We can have an effective offense because it's all based around one play.  We feel other teams don't see this offense enough anymore to effectively scheme it with one week to prepare and we can practice a smaller number of plays and more effectively execute them."  Point is it was a good offense back in the day against less athletic front 7's but apparently doesn't work as well against "gimmick" defenses.
Rollinac is back ! Always good to get your take on the Bronco's !
 3. Dayton rolls and BH got steam rolled ! BH has a huge team I would say the biggest team we played thus far. I can see this BH team getting their ducks in a row and contending for a playoff spot easy enough . Why you continued to try and run against Dayton and trying futile  kick-off returns  is beyond me and I wouldn't worry to much about those fumbles most of them was caused by Dayton knocking the holy crap out of ya . Good Luck in district -
If Brenham /Dayton both win district it will be a short post season for one of us - Since we are on the same side of the bracket together we would meet in the second round if all goes well anyway. The brackets pit district winners against runner-ups in first round and (D) winners against(D) winners in the second round if they both win the first round that is.
Ya, but this is how it was last year... 17-4A D2 1 seed vs 18-4A D2 2 seed 19-4A D2 2 seed vs 20-4A D2 1 seed Which was Brenham vs Manor and PNG vs Barbers Hill. My point is, Brenham and Dayton were both D2 1 seeds from their districts last year.
Yeah its kinda kornfuseing when ya got 4 teams from each district and they pick the brackets by winner and runner-up .

 6. Some how when I think what the outcome will be of the Dayton/BH game - the color PINK comes to mind - quote: Bruce Willis ask the little kid in the movie  "what do yu see " little kid reply  "I see  BH posters with pink T- shirts"  !
 7. Some people see Dayton as an 0&3 team with a dismal start ,but I see a team that dominated 3 very good teams for a big part of the contest. I like what I see and this team hasn't even begun to peak yet or come close to its potential  . Don't look now ,but a monster is about to be unleashed on 19-4a. GO BRONCO'S ~~
I guess Brenham will just have to drop a few games and become the #2 D2 seed in their district if they want to go for the best 2 out of 3 in the regional final.
I would hate for the #2 team in the state to have to take an early exit when they face off under the radar unranked Dayton !
Consider it done! ;)  Question is, will it be in week 12 or week 14?  (Depends how both teams do in district, to see where we'll be)
If both teams win district  would we meet in week 12 or 14 ? ( all things considered of coarse )
 11. No Highlights of the Ike game ?
 12. Gladewater is rebuilding their program again with the addition of a bunch of disgruntle Longview coaches defecting to  Gladewater !
Easy now...  I don't think i'd be so sure about that.  You're saying an 0-3 team, will go 13-0 from here on out.  Focus on getting the first win before you start calling something like that.  That's like the "PNG 10-0?" thread!  You see how that's going for the Indians...
We could get blind sided by Waller - Right !

You could of fooled me -
 17.
Broncos need to loosen up a little, playing to upbeat and out of rythm.I know it's been a tuff pre-season but  they just don't look relaxed and it seems the second half when leading they play like they're behind and try to force things which I see it as the turnover problem/remedy.We'll be alright now is when it counts and we'll see the Broncos throwing alot more.Look for a big offense explosion starting this friday.
I thnk you will see #1 Delisbor rack up massive yards and TD's from here on out !
 18.
If Dayton can get a little lead on a team, they would be a lot tougher to score on.  I look at them like the Colts.  Dayton usually gets up on someone, then the opponent goes away from the run trying to catch up and it's all over. Angleton couldn't move the ball an inch against Dayton that first half, but turnovers and special teams kept them in the game. This allowed Angleton to keep running and pounding the ball.  The second half, Dayton wore down and the running game started to work for Angleton. Sounds like the same thing happened against Ike.  You could tell Dayton was getting tired on defense.  They have a lot of guys going both ways.  I feel like they will get their offense to clicking against slightly easier opponents, and their defense will remain more refreshed while the offense keeps them off the field.
I like this post because its from someone being objective that doesn't have a purple point of view !
 19.
Im not sure if it was this board, or another.  But i said that if Dayton didn't play flawless football, that Ike would most certainly win this game.   I ended up attending (Date night was a football game...My wife is awesome.) and noticed that in the third quarter the broncos were getting fatigued and worn down by a very fast and up-tempo Ike offense. I felt that a fumble pron Dayton offense is 7-14pts less of a team then Ike.    That being said, i don't think either team is very good.   Ike is athletic, and will do what they did to Dayton to most teams that are running multiple players two ways or lack the athletes to line up against them.  You better be very fine-tuned on your execution, because one breakdown against those sort of athletes means a score. Daytons offense is pitiful, and to my surprise pretty predictable.   Those WR screens were getting really old, and to be honest Ike figured it out in the second half.  If you are going to run those screens, you better run different variations.  on top of it all, you wont find a better player then James Jones.  IMHO, he is a lot better then Diggs.
I love all these back seat drivers that jump on the negative bandwagon after the fact. We dominated your big 5a athletic team for almost 3qts and then got beat by a better team our offense will be just fine we will peak during the play-offs like we always do- show a liitle respect !

Anyway what does that have to do with the beat down BH is about to get ! ;D
 21.
It is obvious that all of the local communities are comming together to show their respect and support after this tragic loss. I feel that something positive should come from it. Reggie Garrett's life was about more than football but he has touched a lot of lives doing what he loved. I believe that next friday night all of the teams in SETEX should be "one team". The young man was a leader and tried to be a positive example. Lets all wear his jersy number on game night players and fans. He can lead one team onto the the field in South East Texas.
That would be a noble gesture indeed !
 22.
Dayton vs BH.  Should be a great game for both teams.  If each team limits their turnovers it could be anyones game.
This game won't be close the flexbone will bend and brake before half time - the previous 3 teams Dayton played would of put 60 to 80 pts a peice on BH.
 23. [/quote  Foremost- Condolences to the WOS QB  family and friends - Brenhamfan  I did look for you ,but we  never  made the  connection  - Dayton will be just fine we played IKE toe to toe and the score doesn't reflect the game. Sure we had a few fumbles at the end as a result of playing a very good hard hitting 5a team that was better than most all teams in class 4a in the state. We will peak during the playoffs like we always do and will make a solid bid for the state finals this year . WE are the  real deal and we will cruise from here on out !
Ya I was there sporting them, and I sat about 10 rows up at about the 45.  You might have seen me...  Maybe they are only good luck for green teams...  I know one thing; they didn't cure the Dayton fumbling problems.   ::) I ate at Los Compadres.  I had a good time with liltex and smoking baby though.  We've all heard that that hill is real, but is Dayton?  Gotta work on that fumbling thing.  It killed the Broncos again.
Guys, if you haven't heard yet, Reggie Garrett, QB of the West Orange-Stark Mustangs, had a seizure of some sort along the sidelines tonight. He was taken to Herman Memorial-Baptist Hospital in Orange where at 9:30 he passed away.
Thats so tragic my heart goes out to his family !
