To be fair, the Board and Sup in 90% of small East Texas towns think they know more than the AD... 🤣

Warren is OPEN.. Kenneth Reidinger hired as AD/HC

No doubt the Ag program is top notch at Warren. Most of these families are NOT farmers. Many in the lumber industry. Most I know commute 45 minutes to work in Beaumont. Just because you can’t see the homes from the highway - doesn’t mean it’s not there. There are neighborhoods buried in the Thicket. Most though, you wouldn’t want to go to… I think there are deep rooted issues here. Mainly that the community doesn’t really want to be good in football. They have made excuses for so long, I think they tune out voices that try to change the culture there because it would challenge comfort and the status quo. At least that is what I’ve seen on this side of Ivanhoe. -

Huge misconception here. Statistically, upper end communities win more than lower economic communities. Obviously, there are big time exceptions - but if we are judging on housing projects, this fact can't be ignored. In the case of Warren, they might not have projects, but just drive through town and you will not see very nice houses... -

Yes and no. At the small school level, the really good Freshmen and Sophomores play on Varsity. Stark difference than larger schools. -

I think I remember reading the following in the paper for Accountability Ratings - Spurger ISD B- Warren ISD B- Colmesniel ISD B- Woodville ISD C+ All are pretty equal. -

I think it's that way in EVERY small town in Texas. -

They did not promote the basketball coach to AD? Just a quick Google search said they did. Then a year later, he became the Head Football Coach. Tell me what is not factual? -

lol they did this during the past AD hire. Then he fired the football coach and took over. Now basketball program looks solid. Football going the other direction. Last football coach/AD went .500 9/10 times hiring a non football coach as the AD in a small town doesn’t work. Unless you just want to throw the flag in for your football program and athletics culture. -
These jobs are usually in house or splash hires. I assume this one stays inside...

Was that under Coach Schroeder?

I hope you are right, but according to maxpreps, they currently sit in 6th place with a 1-4 record... This includes a loss to Kirbyville. Big game tonight against their Wildwood rival in Kountze though. -

The good news is they are just a couple of years removed from their last 5-win season. Bad news is the program is struggling to win a single game right now. Biggest negative I have to say is that sports (football in particular) are not a priority by the community or administration. They are fine being an Ag school and nothing more. As far as pay - looking online, Warren pays as good as any small school in SE TX. Not sure where these "bad pay" rumors came from. Facilities are OK. Football field needs turf. Outside that, I don't know a lot about where the Warriors stand right now. -

Do I need to explain to you how a progress chart works? The program improved greatly over Robinson's regime. This year, they won 4 less games. Not a shot to the new staff. I've been supportive of both. However, everyone in the area knows the talent is dipping some and the arrow doesn't seem to be pointing in the same direction anymore. Not sure why you are so hostile over here Falcon. Stay in your lane. -

Well, we have a D1 QB and only made it to the Area Round a year after making a State run. I know a lot of families are not happy with the direction the program is headed right now. -

Do you not believe that the majority of coaches that have tried there did not intend to stay? From what I've heard the past couple of staffs had no intention of leaving... Fortunately for Warren, the falling off of Woodville might actually help them get athletes if they can make a splash hire. Unfortunately, it will be hard to make a splash hire in Warren... -

Just 20 applicants for a HFC position is astonishing.

Wow. Three coaches in three years for this Superintendent. What's going on here? -
Winning wise it's a big step up. I've never met a coach who would rather be coaching a middle of the road 6A team opposed to a 3A that could win state.

Only a couple of ways to mess up a dynasty and get forced out after building what he has built. Rumor is he violated one of those...

You never know who applied and how interviews went. Whispers here were that the firm was underwhelmed be the applications received.

The water in Wildwood must be rotten this year. Warren and Kountze underachieved greatly.

Crickets on this one...
