I don't think a Babin has ever complained of a "lack of resources" 🤣

Go from being a big fish in a small pond to just another fish in the ocean. Staying at Woodville has definitely not hurt his recruiting - the offers speak for themselves. It has also bolded well for the numerous Woodville and Newton athletes that have played college football over the last decade. The "6A makes your stock rise" argument is ridiculous.

Crazy to me that he would transfer. Maybe I have blinders on, but what can Barbers Hill offer him that Woodville hasn't? He's had a chance to compete for a State Championship and has MULTIPLE major D1 offers. Are there issues with the coaching staff? School? Everybody knows his family is very prominent here in Tyler County - doesn't sound like a strictly job transfer move - but IDK!

Does Colmesniel hire Day for a 3rd time?!? Great Coach who did an awesome job here. However, last time he was at Colmesniel he left twice in one semester... So I wonder how many bridges were burned in that process?

Look at HS Baseball Roster sizes across the State. ADs are having severe trouble fielding sub-varsity teams and finding games for those that have them. Of the three major sports offered by 99% of Texas High Schools, this is the only sport that seems to have this problem on a large scale.

Because it's a dying sport.

He’s not leaving.

I'll have what this guy is drinking! Hardin is MUCH improved. But half of your statements above are absurd and I don't think they will be able to run with the big dogs yet. Moving down doesn't mean you will move up in the rankings. We see this again and again.

Cute.

Negative. Listed as an assistant coach for Warren since last year. -

Made sense to me the first hire. They went .500 for the first time in a decade or two - so made sense to me to hire internally and continue building. Baffling now to fire two coaches in a row and hire yet another on the same staff. I feel like it's good old Warren just banging their head against the wall. In regard to the Sup (left us at the end of 2023) - he's a Woodville guy so I pull for him. However, I feel like it is getting redundant. The basketball team has improved greatly since he has arrived, but the football team has tanked... HARD and the baseball program is the most underachieving group in the region. It is all kind of sad because I was hoping that Warren would get good and we could have a great rivalry renewed here in Tyler County. I was curious and looked up the last decade of Warren football. This year with Bud Adams, Warren went 1-9 (0-9 vs UIL schools). Hopefully this new coach will stay a while - but recent history is telling us that he won't have a lot of support. -
Sure hope this passes for the community of Orangefield!

In fact, this Superintendent has made 3 HFC hires in his 3 years in office. All three have been internal. Good luck to the new coach though! -

Third on staff hire in a row for Warren... -
Rumor is a nearby SEC school is heavy in the mix...

We were talking about this at work the other day. Warren has hired multiple coaches that have gone on and had plenty of success at other places. One of their coaches just helped take Newton to a State Championship. The OC at Houston went 0-20 at Warren. Their last coach that stayed longer than one year is having success in the Private School ranks. The Evadale coach has won plenty of games since leaving Warren. So, is it the coaches or something else going on here?
-
Well that was quick...

Word is a hire has been made. In typical Warren fashion the name has been lost in the Pony Express -
Sorry you didn’t get the job bud.
-
To be fair, the Board and Sup in 90% of small East Texas towns think they know more than the AD... 🤣

No doubt the Ag program is top notch at Warren. Most of these families are NOT farmers. Many in the lumber industry. Most I know commute 45 minutes to work in Beaumont. Just because you can’t see the homes from the highway - doesn’t mean it’s not there. There are neighborhoods buried in the Thicket. Most though, you wouldn’t want to go to… I think there are deep rooted issues here. Mainly that the community doesn’t really want to be good in football. They have made excuses for so long, I think they tune out voices that try to change the culture there because it would challenge comfort and the status quo. At least that is what I’ve seen on this side of Ivanhoe. -

Huge misconception here. Statistically, upper end communities win more than lower economic communities. Obviously, there are big time exceptions - but if we are judging on housing projects, this fact can't be ignored. In the case of Warren, they might not have projects, but just drive through town and you will not see very nice houses... -

Yes and no. At the small school level, the really good Freshmen and Sophomores play on Varsity. Stark difference than larger schools.
