  2. Woodville fumble, Jacks Ball around the 50
  3. That’s awesome, future seems bright in Woodville!
  4. They look the part, running backs are really good.
  5. 7-25 Woodville Half Diboll’s D is playing much better than in the 1st.
  6. Definitely a down year, both o-line and d-line are getting whipped
  7. 7-22 Woodville Long run for the Jacks
  8. 0-22 Woodville 26 and 15 are running all over the Jacks
  9. There have been other good running threats at QB since 2008, Watkins, Wiley, and both Kress brothers. The last 5 or so years they haven't had a running QB. But almost every play in the slot-t is based run off of the hand off to the FB between the guard and tackle or the tackle and TE. Every play has that motion in the backfield minus a few. Most of the QB runs are fakes to the FB and HB then its a QB run to the outside. The key is to have your best back at FB as 89Falcon said because if you get him rolling it opens up the rest of the offense. Teams that execute it well it's hard to tell who has the ball, which is the beauty of it.
  10. 100% that's a huge part of BC offense, #9 can get out of the pocket and find someone down field or tuck it himself. And that's just BC. I imagine that HF, WOS, Silsbee, Jasper, etc are the same way if not even better at exposing the open field with QB runs. I haven't seen any of that with OF. Tell that Franklin, Bellville, and Liberty Hill. (I'm sure I'm missing some others) Like any successful program it takes the kids, parents, and community to buy in.
  11. If that's the case, It should be a good opportunity for OF to get their new "spread" offense rolling. Other than the New Waverly game their offense has been shut out besides a late rushing TD against BC's backups. As a former bobcat myself I have mixed opinions about the change in offensive scheme. We beat some teams and/or played teams close that we probably shouldn't have by chewing the clock while pushing the ball up the field running the slot-t. But on the contrary, we also would get shut down by teams that could stop the run game and make us pass. Pros and cons for both, but OF needs to start putting some points on the board to convince me it was the right move.
  12. 1. Nowhere in my post does it say BC would beat Silsbee. 2. The point of the post was saying that BC is much improved and isn’t a push over like in recent years. 3. I only used the Silsbee scrimmage as an example because it’s been the only competitive scrimmage/game so far. And scrimmage or not Cards held their own.
  13. Comparing this BC team, which is much better than recent years, to the past 2 years is interesting. Considering all the coaching changes across the board. But I do agree that BC hasn't been tested yet, best competition has been the Silsbee scrimmage which after a live half ended 0-0. I'm not saying that BC would be a threat in Jaspers district, but they are not the freebie that they've been in years past. We will see what they really are when district starts.
