Will wait and see.  The two portions of the invite rules posted would still tend to indicate that LU will receive an invite via the conference qualifier and not as a true at large.  In the first quote it is stated that the WNIT will invite at least one team from each eligible conference.  By part "b" in Bigred360's post Lamar will be the highest placed regular season team assuming they don't get an NCAA at large invite in which case I think UCA or Sam would be next in line.

Unless the WNIT rules are different than the mens, the guarantee only applies to ensure a regular season champ gets a postseasoon game.  If the conference tourney champ is the regular season champ then it opens another at large bid in the mens NIT.

Doubt we hear anything until the ladies season is over.

Seven good innings out of Harrington and the bats were awake tonight LU up 14-1 in the top of the 8th.

Next years attendance will depend on the schedule and the record end if story.  If Roc is gone there may be a few less that don't keep their season tickets, but if the new team is not winning and is still playing D-II teams in the ooc then attendance will continue to fall.

I believe it is in mental conditioning.  To win close games you have to play smart.  You can not have a one or two point lead and come down the court and take a quick shot unless it is a very high percentage shot.  Lamar would get the lead or have the other team making a run and help them by throwing up a long 3 point attempt with no rebounders and 30 seconds left on the time clock or pushing the ball into a turnover.  The other thing you have to do is make free throws.

While I believe it is time for Roc to go, I won't be surprised to see him get the last year of his contract.  This years team could legitimately have completed this season with only two losses.  In every game, other than Texas and SMU they had a lead (even if it was only one point) in the last five minutes and the majority of the team is back next year.  Two seniors to replace and while both were contributors neither were consistent difference makers.

Whether LU makes the tourney will depend on the tie breakers assuming they pull the upset at McNeese.  Lamar would be tied with either Nicholls or South Eastern for the final spot.

I think everyone would like to see stronger programs in all sports.  Facilities have a lot to do with both the quality of players you can recruit and the quality of opponents willing to come to your place.  A lot of the bigger schools up north are installing indoor practice facilities so some of the better players that Gilligan got in the past from out of state are not as likely to come to Bmt.  Used to hear a lot of griping about recruiting locally, seems we have more local players than ever and now the program is heading downhill.  Last I checked winning conference and going to the NCAA is the expectation.

Would love to dream of it happening, but it won't.  Watched Texas loose to K-State last night and had Barnes not been punishing Brown for not following the script they might have pulled it out.  My opinion "Barnes ego has gotten in the way of his teams performance and Roc has a bigger ego.

Not implying anything in regards to NDSU but imo Lamar does not have the facility to get better schools to come here and for financial reasons it is better to play more home games than to travel to potentially equal or better schools who will not return a game.

If LU can win tonight they will be in a six way tie for the 5th spot in the tournement and will have the tie breaker against Sam, UTA with splits against Nichols and SE.

Gave up four runs in the bottom of the 9th, held on for the win.

Harrington pitched five innings.  Abt has pitched three up to now.  Top of the 9th.

I think Pomeroy is probably pretty close, however I think Lamar will win in Lake Chuck.  They may will drop one of the other win predictions.

I could see renting a portion of the Library but not buying it.  Lamar still has plenty of space on campus to add buildings for classes and should be able to get land surrounding the campus over time to enlarge the campus.  The only way I could see trying to get downtown space is if it was to try to move LIT to a totally separate location and expand to the LIT buildings.

At this point and not that it ever would have, our opinions really don't matter.  Lamar made a business descission based on what they think is in the best interest of the school.  South Dakota AD has a reason to be unhappy with it no matter how or when they were notified because it puts them in a bind to replace us on their schedule.  I am sure we would not like it if someone did us the same way.  The answer is in putting the contract together in the beginning.  If I was in SD's place I would make sure if I were going to schedule Lamar or McNeese in the future game one of the set was at home.

If and that is a big if, the cards make the tourney and win at least one game I doubt that Roc gets fired because of what should be coming back and they have shown improvement the last couple of weeks.  Last night in the first half Lamar did not look like they wanted the ball as much as CC did and that really is not coaching that hangs on the players.  I am glad to see Roc sticking with the bigger front court line up and Brazier really made a difference.  Roc may finally be learning to coach to his players strengths.  Overall a much better offense is developing in LU learning to push the ball but not settling for a quick shot that is not a really good shot.

Yeah looked at the Miss State Live Stat page.  Lamar won 1-0 on Roebucks walk off homer.  So it's two runs scored in 27 innings and four runs given up.  Play Miss St agoin starting at 2:30

Ladies need to win out, but it will be a tough road with the last three away games.  However if they do win out they should have the number one seed in the conference tourney

There is no dominat team in the SLC, Lamar should have won against McNeese the first time.  Not sure what to make of TS but it's at home and will be senior night.  Both Sam and SFA have been difficult in the past and next week is pivitol.
