I sure hope HJ doesn't cancel on us. The kids need to play!
YOU AINT LIEN. HEARD DAT WOS HAD A GAME CANCELLED LAST WEEK. THAT WOULD BE 2 DISTRICT GAMES
yup, it did.  BC had to cancel because of their field being in such bad shape with all the wet Friday night games I am guessing because it stopped raining about 3:00 that day and all the other games were played.  The only good thing about it is that those 2 teams played a preseason game before district so they can count that as the district game.
Well, OF and BC are playing on it today... and that is confirmed! Guess it is in a little better shape this week.
 2. WOS vs HJ too. And it hasn't rained a drop yet in Orange... ::) ::) ::)
 3.
If you want to go back and rely on what he did in the 80's and 90's then yes, Cornel would be the best.  What has he done in the last 6 years.  Since he left WOS for Palestein he hasn't done much.  He failed in Palestine, and didn't do much at Huntsville.  The only success he has had is at WOS.  And that was his previous stint.  For some reason, his defenses playing lesser competition in 3A have been worse than when they played in a tougher 4a league. Lie I said WT is the best DC in the area.  Tell me who's defense they are running in K-ville and that will tell you who's has the input.
You know, it's funny how some of you homers like to see things through rose colored glasses. You guys are the ones who brought up what this guy did at Newton when they won state in 1998, then you come back with. "Well, if you want to count what he did in the 80's and 90's... blah, blah, blah", LOL. The question was who is the best DC in the area. It didn't say who was the best DC over the past 6 years OR who is the best defensive coach who advises a DC that used to be a DC but now just coaches the defense and we really don't know what his title is... The best DC in this area is Cornel Thompson and is probably the best in the state of Texas. You can look at his entire career as the DC at WOS or the last 6 years or however many years you want to. His defenses have been the best in the district EVERY year including the years that Kville was in it. A few of those years it was the best in the state in 3A. That's what he has done. Just because the WOS team has not won a state title does not mean they do not have a good defense.
 4.
HJ-Hawk25 if yall play solid defense for four full quarters it will get interesting. Their Offensive scheme is not working for them this year, Kirbyville whoop them every where except for where it counted and thats the scoreboard. It was a crazy way to lose.
LOL
 5.
Who's defense are they running?  Who's putting together the gameplan?  If I remember correctly K-ville also has an offensive coordinator, but Alvarez calls the plays.  Sometimes the title is just a title. Not taking anything away from Vanya though, the guys a great coach and will be a head coach again as soon as he wants to be.  IMO Kirbyville has the best coaching staff in the area regardless of classification.
1. To be the best DC in the area you probably should ACTUALLY be a DC. 2. Cornel Thompson is by far the most proven DC in this area (we can count shut outs if you would like). 3. He was not the DC at Palestine. 4. He was only the DC at Huntsville for one season. 5. He left WOS after the 2000 season where his defense was the #1 defense in 4A and all classifications and went to the DII state title game.
 6. That would be pointless. He would have to sit out a year before he could play and he is a senior.
 7. I wonder if WOS will line up in the Power I again? BC just could not stop it.
 8. It's going to be wet tomorrow, but the WOS Middle school field drains really well. I sure hope HJ doesn't cancel on us. The kids need to play!
 9. Then it's a good thing we don't play them then...
 10. If Jasper makes the playoffs, they go DI no matter where they finish in district. Also, There is still a chance CH can make the playoffs. They have to beat Gladewater by 14 or more in week 10. Not likely, but still a posibility.

 16. My thoughts are that, it took some end of game heroics for BC to pull out the win against HJ. HJ still controls their own destiny. If they win out, they are in. They will come to Hooks stadium with winning on their mind. It may be closer than some may think.
 17.
Chase Shugart would throw bombs all night. ;D
Chase shugart is quite an athlete and does have a great arm.
 18.
Junior High games got cancelled FYI
Yeah they got canceled this past week, but we played them earlier in the season. Scores were 7th "B" 22-0 WOS, 7th "A" 56-0 WOS, 8th "B" 18-0 and 8th "A" 6-0.
 19.
If WOS's flag carrier stands in the middle of the field and waves to their crowd then why not the opposing team have their flag carrier meet the other flag carrier and stand back to back and wave the opposing teams flag to their crowd. No fighting just show the same school spirit. I think standing on the hash marks closest to your stands would be better weather both teams did it or just one, but if no fights break out between the flag carriers then just have both of them stand in the middle of the field and wave their flags all they want to.
And that is exactly what they did.
 20.
Grad, I think my Tigers could take either Cleveland or Huffman, so it doesn't matter. But, I see Huffman winning out, Liberty splitting their last two games, and Shepherd losing their only game left to Huffman, leaving Huffman taking the 3rd spot and advancing to the Div. I playoffs.
Just curious, but why is it that you "think" Huffman will win out? Liberty beat them and Shepherd beat Liberty pretty handily. Is there a method to your madness or just wishful thinking... LOL. ;D I bet you have now become a huge Huffman fan. ;) ;D

Just because we have dropped a couple of close games doesn't mean that we don't have a shot at the ultimate goal!!!
I meant no disrespect to the playoffs teams from 21 3a. Who ever they may be. Every year  the ultimate for football teams should be a state championship. I just think this year the goal is a little more lofty. Does not mean it won't happen. I would love nothing more than to see a southeast Texas team bring home the gold. Just my observation. Have not seen WOS yet or BC but did see Silsbee. While Silsbee was impressive, it was against Orangefield. Silsbee was like a pinball machine, they bounced off of would be Orangefield tacklers. While I do think Silsbee is smaller than in the past but they are quicker which is to their advantage. Johnson is an athlete and deserves the praise he gets. But a solid and discipline team will shut the spread down. Yes 21 3a is more competitive than years past. But is that a good thing are bad? It is good for the smaller schools because it gives them hope. Not sure what it means for the larger schools. This is a message board for opinions right? Well that is mine. Like it or not I really don't care. I don't pretend to be right all the time. Actually I hope I am wrong this time.
My post wasn't directed at you, Bleed. Just a little encouragement.
 22. Yes, Silsbee will be DI no matter what.

What's the deal with D1 and D2?
The largest team from each district to qualify for the playoffs go DI, the other 2 go DII. There is a DI champ and a DII champ. The two do not play each other.
