1.
Howdy Fellas, I am familiar with the district in which Lorena plays and can tell you that WOS will have to play its A game to win.  If you allow Lorena to hang around in the 4th quarter, they will have a good chance of beating you.  They have not faced a defense like yours; however, they will adjust and if you let them hang, I think you will be sorry. So, if you get the lead you'd better keep your foot on their throat (so to speak) and not let up until the final second ticks off the clock. Just my opinion based on experience.
Welcome to the site, my friend! Thanks for the info. The thing about WOS is they are a very good second half team. And I can tell you this....if Lorena is hoping for a fourth quarter opportunity, it will be a long night. The Mustangs play their best football, (except last week) in the second half.
 2.

Who or what are we waiting for to bring out the "good stuff" and, once the "good stuff" is displayed how sure are we that it will be executed in a high pressure playoff game against a team they're unfamiliar with? It would stand to reason the "good stuff" should've been worked on the past few weeks....  Jmo
Its all hog wash.... There may be one or two plays that havent been used by WOS, but thats not going to be enough to beat La marque or Navasota... Reguardless you will have to be more efficient this week and from here forth to have the honors of making your way to Dallas. Between these 3 teams i can see it going either way.
At this point it has very little to do with PLAYS, but a lot to do with PLAY CALLING. Last night, the offense was able to get almost 5 yards per carry up the middle late in the game. You had some players for WC that were playing both ways. You were clearly wearing them down. Then you pass, the ball was intercepted and they get a field goal. Had they continued to run the ball and pick up chunks of yards, it would have been another shut out. Play calling is key down the stretch.
 3. It appears to me that the secondary was caught off guard in the opening series, which had them off balance the entire night. I believe going foward, they must focus on coverages. It won't get any easier.
 4. The key for Jasper will be pressuring the quarterback. They are very capable of that. However, if Navasota has time to throw, they may exploit Jasper's young secondary. If that happens, it's gonna be a long night. Good luck Bulldogs.
 5. SC has to be one of the most underrated teams in a long time. To do what they did to their last 2 opponents is remarkable. They may be playing with a chip on their shoulder. I see them going to state.
 6. Lets be clear. These threads are merely the opinions of fans. Some fans are respectful. Some are disrespectful. However, I do not believe that any of the coaches share the same sentiments of most of the people who post their opinions. With that being said, fans are fans. ALL fans look for statistics and facts to support why they feel their team will win. That's what fans do. At the end of the day, these posts about respect or lack thereof, should be taken with a grain of salt.
 7.
i have not missed a mustang game in 35 years  i love my mustangs and after each game i am shaking the kids and coaches hands. i just read what sport writters say thats all . after a blow out like the mustangs had lastnight  just hopeing  thay  come off that cloud 9 and get ready for WC becouse if thay  thay might be in trouble and i never said the mustangs were going to be beat
You honestly think these kids are on cloud 9 after last night? I'm really starting to doubt how much you know about mustang football. Come on Skip. Everybody knows that was only the first week of the playoffs. We've been here before....over and over and over again. This group knows what's at stake. Most of them have played varsity for three years. They want nothing less than a state title. Cloud 9? First playoff game? Come on Skipper.
 8.
wo-s has been with out 3 startes  is ther any word if thay will be able to play friday not sure of there names i did not know thay had anyone hurt till last night. and in closeing what about the running back that came over from qzan
Only missing one starter due to injury. Missing an offensive lineman. As far as the running back, he should be available for Friday from what I hear.

 13.
I am from Dayton and moved to the College Station area for the last 8 years for work and be closer to the wife's family.  This Navasota team is as big as any Dayton team I can remember.  I know Dayton has had some great teams, but this Navasota team ranks up there with them.    They are explosive on offense and their defense is dominating.  It is a weak district they are in, but even with backups playing most of the 3rd and 4th quarters, they outscored their opponents 191-0.  Region III is a tough bracket and should be fun to watch starting this Thursday.
Thanks for the info murph. You helped prove a point. Almost every district in the great state of Texas is considered to be "weak". For the most part, you have your top 2 teams. The real measuring stick is the playoffs. We can't really look at the regular season schedules and say this team is better than that team. It's all about matchups. And the next few weeks will tell the story of who's better than whom.
 14.
I was at the silsbee game friday and watched #14 from WOS punch a silsbee DB in the helmet, nothing was said or done by the WOS coaching staff and it happen right in front of the bench.  He never was takening of or anything.
While you were watching, did you also see #7 from Silsbee punch #6 in the helmet after that big hit? It went both ways all night. They jawed with each other the whole game. That's all part of this rivalry.
 15. I think you guys may be referring to Columbus playing dirty last year. Don't think they made the playoffs this year.
 16.
I'd really like to see Silsbee run the ball better! Thatnreallynopens up the passing attack.
Patrick was great last night. He carried the offense. He'll be a force in the playoffs. Good luck Silsbee. We'll be pulling for you.
 17.
like 77 said the yellow flags and block in the back cut blocks  missed blocks droped ball  need to drive for TDs every time thay get the ball 3 and out will not do .  if the mustangs can cut this mess out then maybe the coaching staff  might be happy ----is that ok
You're asking for a perfect game. I don't think they're capable of a perfect game. True. We all would like to see the offense score early and often. However, the defense is the primary group on this team. They've put 4 quarters together all year. The other teams can't win if they don't outscore you. And so far they haven't.
 18.
we have NOT put a full 4QT togather this year you can tell me i am a nut  when i see you friday
Can you define what putting 4 quarters together means to you? Just trying to understand where you're coming from since you've made this point quite a bit
 19. Did anyone besides me realize that the defense or the special teams has score a touchdown in every district game? That's a major accomplishment!
 20. Is he a jr.?
He is a Junior and will be available to play in the 2nd round of the playoffs if we are fortunate enough to get there. He is a 6'0" speedster and give WOS some break away speed at RB.
?? Gas, how did this happen?
That probably shouldn't be discussed on this thread.
 21.
Silsbee 28 WOS 21
I'm normally not a betting man. But if you honestly think Silsbee will score 28 points on WOS, you name the price.

I really believe Silsbee will prove to be the best team and win that district. WOS has not played an offense as good as Silsbee.
I totally disagree with you. Jasper has a better offense than Silsbee. They averaged 50 plus points a game before they played us in the 4th game of the season. Plus, they posted 31 points against Carthage, who is ranked in the state. Silsbee's offense is not better than Jasper's
Very debatable. Game comparisons: Jasper vs. Orangefield    55-14 Silsbee vs. Orangefield    48-7 Jasper vs. Bridge City      21-7 Silsbee vs. Bridge City    45-20 Carthage is giving up 21 points per game on the season. I honestly believe Silsbee has faced tougher defenses as a whole on the season than what Jasper has faced, excluding WO-S. On the season so far, Silsbee is averaging 40 points a game, Jasper 32.
That's great work Aggie!
