And they compete against other schools in the D1 bracket that all have similar enrollments hence why the D1 bracket is more competitive.

COVID affected everyone bro...I can say COVID stopped us from winning 4 state titles in a row so lets not make excuses! Also in 2019 WB loss to Deer Park & finished 3rd in the district (although most ppl believe WB purposely loss this game) Again Peevy had one impressive year at WB the rest were pretty average...and I'm not sh*tting on Peevy cause I like him and think he's a good coach but truth of the matter is Peevy saw the writing on the wall & BISD loses all of its good coaches for a reason. If you haven't noticed most of the good coaches from Beaumont are coaching elsewhere.

Coaching against WB under levels the past few years I saw the dip in the talent level after Bryce's freshman class however I assumed most of the talent was going over to United. But apparently it isn't there either that's why I asked what the hell is going on. Kids to moving out to PA, Ned, PNG etc? I heard one of the better player's from last year's 8th grade class is @ PA Memorial

Yeah a lot of what's wrong in BISD starts from the top...I honestly don't believe BISD in it's current state is set up for any football coach to succeed on a consistent basis.

Again assuming…I asked where is the talent in bmt because both teams are struggling & neither is very talented. But to answer your question I watched United in their scrimmage vs Nimitz and I watched Westbrook vs Deer Park…take into account that 21-6A district is considered the SEC of TXHSFB and WB got blew out by a Deer Park team that would finish at bottom of 21-6A it’s not hard to figure out that there aren’t many winnable games left on WB’s schedule.

Great article & reminds me why you have to take into consideration level of competition when you’re throwing around the goat title…there’s a HUGE difference in competition level between 6A D1 & 6A D2…with that said all state champions aren’t created equal.

Not sure where you get your statistics from my man but Kay has only coached against Katy 6 times since he’s been the head coach and is 4-2 against Gary Joseph…

I did out of respect…but my preference for the GOAT title in high school would be someone who’s done it at the highest level (5A/6A D1) For example give me Coach Kay over Gary Joseph even though both have the same amount of titles Joseph has never won a title in the D1 bracket! Just my take though

Way before my time…but level of competition has to play a factor when considering who’s the greatest. That’s like ranking a D2 Head Coach over Saban because he’s won more games & titles.

I completely forgot about Surratt he’s definitely one to mention…but IMO it’s hard to be considered the greatest when you’re not winning at the highest level! It’s a huge difference between 6A D1 & everything else but that’s just my take. However can’t take winning for granted on any level cause it’s not easy to do.

Dodge is definitely in the convo for one of the greatest ever along with Gary Joseph (although he’s never won a title in the highest classification 5A/6A D1) & the guy from Aledo…however there’s a coach on the Eastside of Houston who’s won 4 titles (possibly 5 after this year) in only 8 short years as a head coach who may have something to say about that when it’s all set and done.
