You giving Desoto credit for winning state in D2 when they’re normally a team that plays in the Division 1 bracket? If Atascocita moved down to D2 you’d have two teams from 21-6A winning state titles…go do your homework on how Desoto has faired when playing in the D1 bracket…

Another guy that can’t comprehend…not once did I say schedule bottom dweller teams or quality opponents. I actually said MEDIOCRE 6A teams that you can compete with like Nimitz, The Heights, a couple of the cypress schools etc etc PNG is doesn’t give you a great look for what’s ahead in district play in the skill positions & damn sure not in trenches. Even the Kingwood the least talented team in the district has better skill & lineman than PNG. And lastly you GAIN NOTHING by playing PNG if you lose to them you got beat by a 5A & if you win well you’re supposed to beat a 5A school…does nothing for your program. Easy concept to grasp.

His ability to recruit is widely known throughout the coaching circles and I don't knock him for it. But we have to be honest, look at skyline before & after he left. Bingo…I tell people all the time (even my close friends who think about applying for a Head Job in BISD) BISD isn’t set up properly for anyone to succeed in football. No matter who the coach is the district isn’t set up for sustained football success. Until this changes nothing will ever change.

You don’t understand football or coaching so I don’t expect you to get it! Your non district schedule isn’t about winning or losing you schedule to prepare you for district/playoff competition. But of course you wouldn't know things like this…playing PNG does nothing to prepare you for 21-6A level talent! If you can’t comprehend that then you should probably stick to your day job & stay off sports forums.

I’ve actually been on this site for over 15 years…my old account was blocked. PNG wouldn’t beat not one of the schools in named. But again I’m talking to ppl who are clueless.

Cougar I never said BU should be playing reputable programs I said play mediocre 6A programs, like Nimitz, Cy Springs, Tomball Memorial & the Katy Seven Lakes of the world! All those schools would indeed play BU or WB. Scheduling PNG only helps PNG it does for BU that’s my whole point, every team in 21-6A is 10x more talented than PNG. So tell me how does BU benefit from scheduling them? As far as having a larger football population than the likes of NS, you’re about the difference being culture. Because unlike BISD NS knows better than to open up another HS that would split up the talent. But they have a Supt that is a former coach so he gets it 🤷🏽‍♂️

All 3 of WB non district opponents are from the Houston area & 2/3 for BU. So exactly what budget constraints are you referring to? Also never said Colbert made the schedule, regardless who made it it don’t make sense.

I would be scheduling the mediocre teams in HISD, Aldine, Cypress, Katy, Tomball etc…solid 6A competition that’ll potentially get you ready for 21-6A. Playing PNG does nothing for you as a program, if you lose it just looks bad because you lost to a 5A school & if you win you were just doing what you’re supposed to because you’re a 6A program. Please don't tell me about travel cost when all but two of the opponents on BU schedule are Houston area schools. No matter what you’re going to travel regardless.
