1. Wow, I can't believe what I'm reading.  Do you guys really think that Lamar should sign players just because they live and played high school football in SE Texas?  I promise you everyone that plays in SE Texas is NOT college football material.  There are some very good players that come from this area but that doesn't mean they are good enough to play college football, or maybe they are good enough to play college ball but they don't fit Lamar's scheme. Raiderblue, you said the following, "We have great home grown talent and can't get these yo yo's to sign them."  Are you joking?  Here's Lamar's 2012 roster.  Let's see how many players they have from SE Texas. What more do you want?
2.
Thats the problem with people these days they always blame coaching when they have no clue what it takes. Maybe he did do a bad job but it didnt cost the kid a scholarship cause he signed with Lamar. If you have the talent, work ethic, and attitude for college ball, like Mitchell does, they will find you. Galveston Ball went 0-10 and Johhny Evans just started every game for Texas A&M as a freshman, his coaches didn't hold him back despite not winning a game. If a kid doesnt get recruited to play college ball it just means that kid isn't good enough to play college ball, plain and simple. Coaches dont get kids scholarships; talent, hard work, and effort gets kids scholarships. I'm just telling you what a college coach that recruits this area told me point blank, but I'm sure you know more than he does right. You are alot more qualified because you have a setxsports profile and post a comment.
This may be the best post that I have ever read on this forum!!!  Here's a little positive Karma for you, Highpoint96.  :)
3. Because it's a beautiful game with hundreds of individual battles that ultimately make a team win or lose.
4. I knew this would be a good ballgame.  Congrats to the CAMERON YOEMEN and good luck in COWBOYS stadium!!!  Hopefully the outcome will be a little different than the 2010 state championship game against Daingerfield.
5. I really don't know what to think just yet.  I hate the fact that Michael Young is gone but it had to happen sometime.  I have said multiple times in the past that the RANGERS has the most feared line-up in baseball.  This is no longer true with Napoli, Young and Hamilton gone.  I'm not sure what they are going to do to replace these guys but it will darn sure look different.
6.
This late in the season, home-field advantage doesn't matter much. Although I seriously doubt any of these class 2A teams will put 5000 on either side. Considering the average combined attendance for the class 2A state CHAMPIONSHIP games is only around 6500. And that's including coaches that attend and fans from around the state. Now about the game. "cock"...you're very naive and not too bright if you are overlooking this Newton team. Marion, Lago Vista, and Hallettsville?? And we've played chumps? Lol 28, 24, and 19. Yoe's margins of victory in the playoffs. 51, 41, and 36. Newton's margins of victory in the playoffs. In fact, Newton scored more points in their lowest scoring game than Yoe scored in their highest. Yoe is a good football team. But I hope everyone in Cameron has the same attitude you do. If that's true, then there will be a lot of unhappy Yoemen driving back to Cameron Friday night. Newton 63 Cameron Yoe 35
In the 2010 state game there were over 5000 fans on the Cameron side of Mansfield's stadium.  Dangierfield's side was about 1/2 full.  It might not be exactly 5000 this Friday night but I promise you the YOEMEN, and their fans, travel very well.  Get ready to see a sea of maroon and GO YOE!!!
7. Come on guys, don't let one person come on here and mess this entire thread up.  Here's what most people know.  Newton is a very good team.  Cameron is a very good team.  They are both in the semi-finals for goodness sake.  These two schools have very good football programs year in and year out.  And there is a little history between these two programs that date as far back as the early to mid 70's and as recent as 2010.  It should be a great game and I think the winner of this game will be the favorite to win the state title.  I hope both teams come out injury free and Go Big YOE!!!
8. Will be pulling for the Cameron Yoemen.  Should be a very good game and get ready for a great crowd. There will be at least 5000 people wearing Maroon at this game.
I would love to see Cameron vs Newton at Bowers Stadium in Huntsvegas!!!
Bowers Stadium would be great.  However, we won't know for sure until maybe Sat night if that stadium will be available.  Sammy U has a chance to host a playoff game if they win Friday night in Montana and E. Wash loses on Sat.
In that case I hope the BEARKATS are playing a home playoff game.

11. Newton and Cameron are both tough teams but don't forget about Daingerfield on the other side of the bracket.  I really think Cameron or Newton will play Daingerfield for the state championship.
12. Looks like Newton and Cameron are on a collision course in the semi-finals.
