Impressive Win-Congrads to the Indians.Should move up again in the polls.Coaching has been magnificent but you have to have some talent as coaches don't play the game. This is a great tradition as the transition has arrived right on time.

I have said in past we always have had talented kids. Just have to put them in the right situation and play to their strengths. Faircloth has given the Indians this ability.
  2. I watched the 7 on 7 games yesterday at the reservation and the best show was the West Brook kid who threw the ball from the 50 yard line 8 yards deep into the end zone. He then backed up to the 35 and threw the ball 5 yards into the end zone. He then tried from the 30 and threw two ducks which one landed at the 15 and the other on the 10 yard line. I would love to see this kid throw a baseball.

  3. I can not believe people still do not get the Masters requirement. There are a lot of teachers, administrators, and general public whom do not appreciate sports like most writing on this board. The Masters requirement places the Coach in Administration along with Principals and Vice Principles. These positions make quite a bit more money then teachers. This helps the school board justify to these non sport loving people the large dollar amount they will be paying the new Coach. He will not be just a Coach he is in Administration.

  6. John Launius - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

John Launius just finished his second year with Trinity Valley, directing a high-flying offense that put up big numbers week in and week out in 2008.  The offense included several All-Conference performers that finished among the top of the league in passing, rushing and receiving.  The Cards balanced offensive attack not only ranked among the best in the SWJCFC, but they were among the nation's best as well.  TVCC ranked in the top 18 nationally in passing offense (#18), rushing offense (#15), total offense (#13) and touchdown passes (#12).

Launius brought Trinity Valley a wealth of experience with both explosive offenses and the quarterback position.  He arrived in Athens in 2007, after spending the previous season at Dodge City C.C. in Dodge City, Kansas.  As offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Launius directed the Dodge City offense to one of the most prolific seasons in school history, finishing as one of the top passing offenses in the Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA.

Before entering the college ranks in 2006, Launius spent more than a decade coaching at the high school level.  From 2002 to 2005 he was the head football coach at Channelview High School, just outside of Houston, where he led the program to its most successful seasons in over 10 years.  Prior to Channelview he worked at Arkadelphia High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, from 1998 to 2001 as head football coach.

Along with coaching the position, Launius had an incredibly successful playing career as a quarterback. A three year starter at Arkadelphia High School, he led his alma mater to Arkansas High School Football State Championship in his senior season.  Launius then moved on to Southern Arkansas University where he was a four year starter at quarterback for the Mule Riders, finishing his career with 11 different school records, including career total offense and touchdowns.

Launius is married to the former Keri Shaw and has three children, Morgan 11, Myles, 9, and Aiden, 1.

Sheppard went on to earn LSC North Division Offensive Lineman of the Year honors as well as Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-Southwest Region Third Team accolades. Other members of the Lions offensive unit - running back Nabil El-Amin and JaMichael Palmer earned first team all-LSC honors, quarterback Terry Mayo was a second team recipient and fullback Trae Grimes received honorable mention recognition.

Prior to his return to A&M-Commerce, Critchlow served as the head coach at Tyler Junior College for two seasons. In 2006, he led the Apaches to the fourth-best offense in the NJCAA in passing offense, averaging 235 yards a game and eighth in total offense, averaging 355 yards a contest. In his first season, TJC was among the national leaders - 12th in passing offense and 24th in rushing offense.

He also was an offensive line coach at TJC from 1998-2003.
