If tariffs do not raise prices on the cost of food for Americans, why are we suspending them now?
Unless they do raise prices, which Milton Friedman warned, and POTUS wishes to bring down costs.
If that's the case, eliminate them altogether and lower prices on everything.
Reminder, tariffs are a backdoor tax on American businesses and consumers.
American importers pay the tariff/tax on the good at the port of entry, which is collected by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
That cost is then passed on to the American consumer. You.
This is basic high school economics.
