  1. I think its great Sloan is playing Sophomores.... He should probably look at some freshmen too... Had Martel done that 5 years ago, he may have faired better.... I would rather have 11 freshmen on the field that want to win rather than 11 seniors that feel "entitled"... When you go 0-10 or 1-9 and tell the kids "I got one spot open here and one spot open there".... Noooo! thats stupid.... If you go 0-10, the next season, every spot on the field should be open....

  2. I'll tell you exactly where HJ was "pre Dubois".... They had a hometown coach that came home to be on vacation for the rest of his life... No off season work-outs, allowing parents to dictate what he did... Allowing players of prominent citizens to basically do whatever they wanted... Anyone could have came in there and did what Dubois did with a running offense and a plan... Power eye, wishbone, wing-t, any of those offenses would have worked... Dubois came along when there was an exceptional group of kids.... HJ was and always will be a "running team"... We beat Kountze by 3 touch downs..... How is that almost beating us?

  3. This is funny..... You will see how much of it was Dubois and how much was the kids this Friday when Kirbyville gets done with BC... Lst year, HJ would have walked all over the Kville Kittens....  4 kids off of last years HJ squad playing Division 1 football as we speak... And my oldest was getting recruited by a few D1 schools but chose the baseball route.... That many D1 prospects does not come along very often in 3A- 4A DII.... Dubois brought a decent offensive scheme, but we also had exceptional kids... Like I've said in earlier post, it was a mixture of the 2... To say the coach leaving is why they are washed up, is preposterous (utterly absurd)...

The coach leaving is why they are washed up , not the other way around. The new coaches should have kept the winning formula , not changed it .(if its not broken, ....... . . . . .)

I would like to know HJs' JV record from last year , just out of curiosity !

im also glad to hear that Moreaux is not leaving

  4. You go play your high school baseball. I get to spend some much needed quality time with my son before he leaves to play college ball... Free of charge of course... Good luck poo-fan.... Hope the Huffman Falcons win it all.... Here is some advice, better not pick a 1 gamer with Bridge City and WOS, you may be home watchin corn grow yourself..... Whatever your thinking right now, let me answer that with something classy... "Your Momma"...

  5. Blah Blah Blah.... Its easy to get on here and talk trash after the fact... You guys were talking about how HJ didn't stand a chance.. "Whos gonna pitch the salty lefty or the righty going to SFA".... All I did was comment how we had the same talent.... Read the post, my comments were that I thought we were evenly matched... If you remember it was a 1-0 ballgame through 5 innings.. Then our pitcher got in a little trouble and a routine fly ball got lost in the lights with the bases loaded.... Say what you want, we were evenly matched and the chips fell your way.. Good luck with the rest of your season... FYI, HJ's 6'5" lefty came in the 6th and got 2 ground balls and a "K", 3 up 3 down.... Just sayin....

  6. I'm not opposed to anyone saying HJ will loose... Its the other crap that goes with it... Our district is much tougher... MUCH TOUGHER... The teams we played in your district were no match... My son no-hit Cleveland, and Cody Cash 1 hit Tarkington.... I'm just saying, we have Grayson Padgett (signed with U of H) and 5 other kids who have hit homeruns off of kids signed with D-1 colleges... I believe we are 2 very evenly matched teams. I have also heard folks say this kid is upper 80's or that kid is lower 90's.... Usually means low 80's and mid 80's.... My son is 6'5" and left handed... Recorded 85-86 at Temple Jr College this past summer, I have the scouting report to prove it... On the mound during a game, he's probably topped out at 81-83.... But when people ask me what he throws, I'm like " he's up around 87"..... We were told Aiden Anderson was low 90's during the summer... Hardest pitch he threw against us was 88.... I'm not knockin that 88, just proving a point... He probably throws more strikes at 86-88 than 90-91.....

  7. Well.... Huffman has 2 pitchers that have a 0.00 ERA... A sophomore going to LSU, a senior undefeated going to UTSA, 10 other pitchers throwing 90 plus, 8 kids with 20 homeruns each and their coach wears a visor.... We should just concede the victory and get on to summer vacation... Sounds like sorry ol HJ don't have a chance... Again..... Man, I've NEVER heard that before.....Guess I'll just stay home and watch The Grinch..... Huffman, enjoy your Friday "walk in the park"...

  8. Actually, 5 different kids in the line-up that hit homeruns this season..... And HJ is actually in probably the toughest 4A-DII district in the state... We beat Shepard, Tarkington, Cleveland just as bad as Huffman did.... And beat the crap outta Splendora in a scrimmage.... HJ just might be the "real deal"....

  9. Well, HJ led the area in Homeruns this season.... Hit homeruns off of D-1 committed pitchers.... More than once.... Who will HJ throw??? The righty who beat Bridge City and LCM or the lefty going to Bossier Parish College????? Aint nobody scared of Huffman....Bring it.. Your gonna get our best, no doubt....
