1. I work at a sporting goods store and get to talk to most bat companies out there. All the bats are not bad but there are some that seem to be better sellers than others. The Marucci Cat 5 has been the best seller since last summer. Very good bat with good price. Marucci just came out with the Marucci Black (their first half and half model) and we are already sold out with those. The new Easton Speed and XL series have been performing very well also. The all composite models (XL1, S1) and the all aluminum model (XL3, S3) have been selling better than the half and half models (XL2, S2). The Rawlings 5150 has been a solid selling bat and has had great reviews. Most don't think of Rawlings when it comes to bats but they are very solid. All aluminum bat and a good price point. The Rip-It Prototype II is a good performing bat as well. Most either love it or hate it. One good thing Rip-It does is offer a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't like it. So you can swing it 29 days and for whatever reason, you can send it back for a full refund to Rip-It. All of the TPX models have not really sold well at all. The Z1000, Exogrid, and Omaha tend to feel a little heavier than most other models. The Demarini Voodoo, although we haven't sold many, when I got to swing them I thought it felt and hit pretty good. Tends to be more balanced than some others.
 2. BH is 320 down the lines 355 power alleys and i think 375 in center and its got about a 10-12ft wall all the way around
Yes, I think so.  May miss Castro, but he didn't exactly set the world on fire at the plate last year.  Am sort of anxious to see what Quintero can do if given the starting position.  Still think Q is one of the top defensive catchers in the NL, and I think he will probably not hit well but may do as well as Castro would have done.  If Towles is healthy, would he be a passable backup?
He may have not set the world on fire but what astros catcher the past decade has? He's already a really good defensive catcher and the hitting will come once he gets settled down with all the duties of being a major league catcher. He's the best looking prospect we've had in a while and to judge him on not even half a season in the bigs is not fair. Lets see how he does with the starting gig for a full season then we can make our judgements on him. But now we have to wait one more year  :'( :'(

Its one thing to be a fan of BH baseball or a fan of any school but come on! Youre naming out a lineup that has kids that havent played in years. You're putting kids in positions that theyve nevered played and you're acting like BH is some jugernaut that no one can touch. I give you credit for showing enthusiam for BH baseball but you're going a little too far and you can do all the apologizing you want but you dont put kids names up here and bash them. And you did bash him so stop saying it will give him motivation. Anyways he was one of the more consistent players on the team last year as a sophomore. I am a BH fan in all sports and once again DONT STOP BEING ENTHUSIASTIC toward BH baseball, just tone it down a bit is all im sayin.
I'm just glad someone finally said it!  I was wondering where/who some of the names were coming from on WhatHappened?'s list and then to have some of those names in place of starters from last season was REALLY amusing.  BH had a lot of Sophomores in the starting line-up last year and I'm pretty sure they will all be in the starting line-up again this season.
Your very welcome, somebody had to say something this guy was getting way out of hand
If you read posts from above: D. Wood threw 89-92 this summer and C. Erwin on a loose arm threw 91-94 this summer. Says so on my radar gun.
I think your gun needs calibrating.  ;)
The games improved since your son has been playing. BH is bringing in a lot more kids and have a lot more talent
First, my son only graduated in 2008......not too long ago   ??? ??? ???. I can promise you the '07 & '08 teams had plenty of talent , more than last year's....and that's not a knock on last year's team. 5 pitchers on the '08 team went on to pitch at the next level. Hales, Thamm, Silva, Kelley, and Burditt. I hope these kids are throwing as well as you say. It's just not what I'm hearing from the contacts I have at the high school, select team, Juco, D1, and MLB scouting burea levels.....and from a couple of D1 recruiters. One from a university that you mentioned in your pm. Coach Denny had a gun on the kids that are in the baseball offseason within the last month. No one was over 86....and that wasn't from either of the two that you mention....one of which is not in the offseason program. I've been around the baseball recruiting and  the MLB draft deals long enough to know if you are a senior touching 94....you are already signed w/ at least a JuCO and more than likely a D1, or both, and scouts are around you thicker than thieves...even if you only played select ball your junior year. Second, the growth rate in Barbers Hill is primarily at the primary school level. The enrollment figures for BH from the last 2 UIL classifiactions did not change all that much. With that said,  best of luck to the BH Eagles and Coach Denny.
Your spot on with this post EAGLE07 and I agree completely. And to you 24baseball24. I don't know who you are but I have a pretty good idea. I'll offer you a little advice and you can take it for what it's worth. You are obviously someone who is a big fan of both of these kids and I can respect that, or someone that is throwing both of these kids purposely under the bus, which if this is the case I have no respect for you at all. The problem with what you have done is that you are trying to downplay and discredit the accomplishments of current teammates and past players of the Barbers Hill baseball program while at the same time trying to embellish the abilities of these two kids. I hope and pray for the sake of C. Erwin and D. Wood that they can live up to the expectations that you have set for them on this forum when baseball season rolls around in the spring. You have either blatantly or unknowingly set these 2 kids up for both failure and ridicule from their teammates and opponents before they even have a chance to get started. I really hope your radar gun was accurate! If not these 2 kids may be in for a really miserable senior year thanks to you!
I know for a fact that these two have pitched it in the summer. And Denny did have a gun on them when they threw from center feild to home plate which is a different then a pitch. And d. Wood threw 89 from that distants. For the 07 08 season it haS been one of the best teams that had came threw bh in a long time but couldn't even make it past the first round. Obviously not to good. These two kids are great kids throwing the ball hard and hitting their spots. Keep up the good work you are putting in. Don't have to listen to the hatred at bh from past dads
First of all I haven't seen any past dads showing any hatred at BH. I for one am a past and current dad who just doesn't understand what your trying to accomplish. If you haven't noticed by now, I don't think anyone believes a word your saying and your posts are getting more and more unbelievable. Your bashing and trying to discredit the accomplishments of other current and former players isn't going to help get Irwin and Wood on the field this year. It would appear to most that read this post that 24baseball24 is either C. Irwin or D. Wood trying to make himself and his buddy look good. Soooo, do C. Irwin and D. Wood a favor and quit talking about them. If they are as good as you say, their play will speak for itself when the baseball season get's here! They don't need your help. By the way, you need to know that if your only throwing 89 from the outfield with a crow hop, odds are your probably not going to bust 85 from the mound much less 92! Your numbers aren't matching up very well.
Definately agree with that RIP09. This guy just needs to stop posting this BS before he puts even more pressure on these kids. This is ridiculous!!

 9. So so sad, very sorry to hear about this. Prayers to the family, friends, and community.  :'(

 13.
Fitzhenry would be a great choice. I agree!
Sounds like BH is getting alot of high interest from some big coaches with great records and programs! ;D
definately agree with that. what about carl landry's play this year? this guy has made a huge stride this year. its seems every game he has 20 and 10 and is the go to guy late in the game. its been a pleasure watchin this guy grow up as long as he doesnt have any more teeth knocked out ;D ;D
