1. I was there for the first half too. Believe me when I say that the Broncos are doing good to make a game of it. Elkins is huge! The smallest player on Elkins offense (the quarterback) is bigger than the biggest Dayton defender. Ft. Bend has some crazy size and speed. The Bronco defense missed alot of tackles because they're bouncing off those beasts! I have faith though that the defense will improve every week just like it does every year. They are small but scrappy and play with alot of heart. Tousant is a real bright spot on D though. In the backfield on every play. Bronco offense will be stellar. Hey, sounds like this game ain't over yet!
 2.
Went to Bronco's practice today - And our RB problem has been solved " big time " Friday will be exciting !
Great news! Can't wait for game time to see this "solution" you speak of!
 3. ] The Chron has Elkins #2 in the district.
 4.

Elkins graduated a huge senior class and most of the previews around here are not looking towards a great season.  I'd be surprised if Dayton was -15 or whatever it was through 3 games.  Doesn't matter till district.
With  LITTL PONY and DA HORSE in tha stables might be a tough night for DA BRONX. Might have to open the passin game up a bit ;) I agree it seems tha Bronx dont get rollin till about the 3rd / 4th game.
I forgot about the injuries.  I would take Dayton if they were healthy, but since they're not, I'm going to have to take Elkins.  Elkins 21 Dayton 13
We are healthier than people think, we aren't short handed at RB.
:o :o fill us in bronco1!
Yea! Please elaborate! Can you share this "new" information?
 5. If I recall, last year we had trouble getting first downs on Elkins. Lots of 3 and outs! I think we had one TD called back. Or something like that. This year I look for the offense to move the chains a little more. I noticed in the Nederland scrimmage that the Broncos coaching staff finally listened to me! Looked like they have some new high percentage pass plays designed to get first downs. I saw some quick slants, 10 yd. curls among others, that were successful for the most part, in getting first downs. With Andres accuracy and the excellant receiving core, I think we will be able to move the ball against some tough run defenses. (Would have come in handy against Lamarque) ;) With all that said, I'm going with the new and improved Broncs!  17 - 14
 6.
#15 Mcbride RB for Dayton was injured and had to be carried off the field by a couple of spectators ( maybe one was his dad ) -
Yea, forgot to mention that. Hope the kid's okay. Looked like maybe an ankle. Not real sure.
 7. Andres looked pretty good. Made a real nice chunk of about 30-35 yds. for a TD to Fowler. Not real sure where the first team ended and the second team started. Looked like Dayton was running different players on every series. Prolly getting looks at everybody. Overall the offense looked pretty good. Defense still needs some work though. I thought they were pretty scrappy early then they started playing alot of different kids. I thought the secondary was the weakest link though. As it is every year. No suprise there. Nederlands got some big old boys!
 8. Looking forward to a detailed analysis when you guys get home! Particularly interested in how the defense is coming along.  8)
 9.
I think you guys are either kidding yourself or have wishfull thinking about "Nothing is going to Change" ;D Unless Stewart is on that field or in the press box with the head phones on the coaching has no where to go but down. I've seen programs where the new coach has coached with the out going coach of years and they do pick up some good stuff ,but it isn' the same. I predicted last year that the Bronco's would start the season at 0-3 and got called all kinds of names by the Purple cool aiders ;D This year I would like to submit my "Broncos go 0-4" prediction :o you heard it here first folks ;D
"Delusions of Grandeur", isn't really applicable here......just Delusions. Of course, with the annual beat downs (courtesy of the mighty Broncos), along with the perpetual gas fumes and all the other horrible conditions of such a homogenius community, one would come to expect such delusions.  ;D
 10. Can't wait to see the offense at work. AH's senior year with his expierence and the weapons he will have to work with, the Broncos should be a precision scoring machine! Just get us in field goal range!  ;D ;D
 11.
[Hidden Content]
Gosh dang girl! Last time I was on here, I had you well up into the positive karma territory. What happened?  ??? >:(
 12. Rumor has it.......Tulsa will be the town.
 13. Pace yourselves fellas. There's a long way to go. ;D
 14. So glad any player can wear a towel now. That rule change was long overdue!
 15. Well, other than Pearland, no SETX rings this year. But at least no Dallas area domination this year either.  I hate Dallas. ;D
 16. It would really surprise me if Jakari could come back to even play, much less be a top RB in the region after the devasting injury he suffered. I know that young man is a fighter and a true competitor and I wish him all the best.
 17.

Not me, I'm drinking the purple kool-aid. Stay off our QB and the Coaches as far as I'm concerned.
Well said, let the coaches coach and let the talkers talk.  If you have a child in Jerry Stewart's program then you know exactly what I mean.
I don't have a child in Jerry Stewart's program and never will. Maybe a grandchild hopefully.  ;) So what can we talkers (the vast majority of Bronco fans without kids playing) talk about? Oh wait, I know the answer; everything but any coaching decision made by the Bronco staff. I guess I can live with that.  ;D
 18. "Just for clarity's sake, the only thing I'm taking exception to is throwing 1 kid under the bus for a loss. Nothing more." I've been following the whole thread and I totally got that. I certainly don't condone singling out any one player or coach either. Actually it's against forum rules anyway isn't it? (I've never actually read them) I drink the Kool aid as well. Mine is just sugar free.  ;D ;D
 19. The Bronco coaching staff has always been very good at making the most of the talent they have. They're also one of the best at improving throughout the year. I don't think that any Bronco fan on this board or elsewhere would trade our coaching staff for any other in the state. Including this Bronco fan. But with that said, does it mean that we as fans, can never discuss the decisions, schemes, or any other workings of our local high school football team? There are some on this board that seem to want to hang any person who ever even so much as hints at the possibility that there may have been room for improvement. Trust coach Stu no matter what. Just sit in your seat and cheer for touchdowns like a good little subject. You are'nt allowed to talk X's and O's. That's blasphemy! You think coach Stewart himself doesn't question his own decisions from time to time? Course he does. He's human like the rest of us. I wonder how many sleepless nights he had after the Sulphur Springs game wondering what he could have done differently, if anything. I'm sure he had a few. Stewart and the staff he's assembled are the best thing that ever happened to Dayton Bronco football. Maybe even Dayton period. But let's please allow room for discussion. I'm quite sure he himself would want an open forum to discuss improvement. How else can he stay on top if not for looking within?
 20. Earlier in the year, someone called our (Bronco) defense "gimicky". They were wrong of course. They would have been more accurate, still not correct, but closer if they called the offense gimicky. The Broncos have run this spread offense for a long time now and make no mistake, I love watching it, but when you run a spread offense and only pass on average, 8 - 15 times a game (this year), you can't expect to be very proficient. At the beginning of the season I noticed they were not committed to the pass but still committed to the spread. Everything was great once we got to district competition. We could run the ball anywhere we wanted and when we did pass, it was successful. But I said back then that when we got to the playoffs we were going to need a way to convert some 3rd and longs. Sure enough, we couldn't do it against the good defense of Lamarque. All I'm saying, or asking actually, is the spread offense the right offense for our personnel? Not blaming any one player or coach. I won't go there. Just posing a question. And while we're asking, is it time for a defensive change too? The last 4 years we have been knocked out of post season by the same type of offenses. Is it time to go to a 4-3?
 21. Merka deserved first string QB. IMO.
 22. "from what i hear there might not even be a school in dayton nxt year apparently the only thing yall study in dayton is football, to bad TAKS isnt about football. thats all yall could pass. dayton has no credibility as a school and will more than likely get shut down, then all yall bronx better get ready to swap purple for blue or red" :D :D :D :D At least they teach students how to use capital letters. Hint: (That's the big ones). Maybe when you get to Junior High, you'll have a teacher kind enough to teach you.  :D :D :D :D :D :D
 23.

We at BH are trying to build a containment fence to keep Stewart from sitting in our student parking lot and recruiting our players.  I'll look at the calendar to answer the original question once we get the electricity turn on the fence.   ;) ;)
Take your time.. I'm sure Gage will be late... Might wanna buy him a 2011 calender and a watch for Christmas.  ;D
:D :D
 24. Well, since I started this thread I guess it's time for some more bird eating. I predicted a 2 - 2 split. I was only 1 game off!  ;D  All I have to say is, congrats to 24-4A! You guys give region 3 a good name. Now PLEASE, one of y'all win a championship away from the north! La Marque has definitely done their share in the past, time for someone else to step up and join the party. Manvel has been my pick for several weeks now to win region 3, Div. 2 and the only pick I got right this weekend. C'mon Mavericks, do us proud! FW has a tougher road ahead, assuming they get by the Bears, (which I believe will happen) but I'll be pulling for the Stangs none-the-less!
