  1. My brother-n-law played football for Lamar in the late 70's and always spoke highly of coach Peyton.  We had funeral services today for my mother in law.  Who shows up for the service, Coach Peyton 30 odd years after coaching my brother in law.  What a class act.....along with coach Tidwell and a few others at Lamar......is it October yet????????
  2. LAZEEK....if you leave ANY gamers early this year it will be because we are ahead by so many points......that is considering our out of conference strength of schedule...or should I say lack of S.O.S.  I have also heard that Roc said James is our best player.  Like everyone else I expected Lamb to be a pure shooter but after watching 2 scrimmages thats not the case.  Last nite Rock did use a 17 sec. shot clock.  They practiced before the game a then ran a fast pace game.  No one looked out of shape.  It sure showed that Davis & Lamb have played together.  If you didn't see Adams on the news the other nite make the half court shot with his back to the basket.  I heard he made it but the news man didn't catch it on tape so he made the second shot with cameras rolling.....talk about a quick release Adams has that.
  3. Lazeek....I paid for my BB tickets last week ( for the 25th year)......Watched my 2nd "pick up" game...all the new guys...I predict YOU will not be leaving the games early THIS year because of boredom & frustration!!!!!!  One of the coaches said he can already see the difference in the competition and attitude of the players.  No "BS"ing going on.  Everyone that is on the football bandwagon get back on the BB wagon like it use to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I thought we were full...maybe not...here is scoop on Cartwright.2010 Prospect:  Cartwright after leading Compton Dominguez to the state championship, eventually signed with Fresno State.  As a freshman at Fresno, Cartwright was the starting point guard for the Bulldogs.  Cartwright finished hist frosh season with the sixth-best assist-to-turnover ratio (1.60) and the ninth-best assist average (3.21 assist per contest) in the WAC.  He was Fresno's assist leader.  He also recorded a season-high 20 points in a road victory at Cal Poly on Dec. 29, 2008.
After one season, Cartwright decided to transfer to Paris Junior COllege outside of Dallas, Texas.  At Paris this past season as a sophomore, he was named honorable mention All-Region as he was one of the region's leaders in assists.
