I was there and didn't listen to commentators, but we all know they are homers like most other home broadcasts around the state. Marshall folks don't even like hearing them most of time. Not that they are bad commentators. Texas Highs crew is just as bad. Everybody in Marshall knew from early in the season, that if Qb Henderson ever gets hurt, we are not winning anymore games. He was 80% of the offense. Then he just happens to get hurt before getting pulled last week. He should have been yanked in 2nd quarter. He showed a ton of grit playing on 1 leg though. Huntsville was very physical. That led to a ton of mouthing the entire game. Im embarrassed. Coaches have been letting it happen last couple years. I miss our coaches of 80s and 90s. They had our kids being mentioned as some of the most well behaved, disciplined kids in the state. Gone are those days. Good luck vs Terrell. All their coaches were in the stands.

I'm rooting for Huntsville but they would need a perfect game with SOC having a game of mistakes.

THigh had backups in in the 3rd quarter in every district game except Marshall. Who lost by 1. So it's easy for games to get away from you if you didn't bring your A game.

Not often will you see a purple on purple battle. Maybe bands will play Purple Rain.

Thigh Is the last team you want to play with a struggling defense. Probably their best offense since winning state, and that's saying a lot. The way to beat them is to run the ball and get first downs and tds. Then play aggressive on defense and hope you can get a couple turnovers. Base defenses will get eaten alive.

I don't see many claiming it CANT be done, knowing THighs recent playoff struggles. Nederland knocked off a previous state #1 already. So a #3 should be very plausible. I think most are favoring undefeated Thigh at home but wouldn't be surprised to see it go the other way.

For what it's worth, Tepper (DCTX Fball) picked Montgomery to "squeak" by Marshall.

Southern played against Whitehouse a few times while at Marshall. Different coaching staff now of course.

The qb they went with is very small but quick and is a good game manager. Lacks the downfield accuracy the starter had. They will tempo you and see if you can keep up. Wr screens and quick passes. Good oline.

Yep. That's why I made sure to say "unless they choke again." They aren't near as wishy washy this season.

TBH, unless THigh squats again, I didnt see any of district 8 teams going to Grim and coming out with a dub. Not a diss, that's just how tough it will be for a long drive to Grim. Probably the best offensive unit the Tigers have had in forever. The defense is good but I think they've had a couple better in the past 6 years or so.

Depending on what the defense tries to take away. I'd say closer to 85% run. Stack the box and it's closer to 70% run.

How far is the drive for Monty?

Whitehouse hangs in early. Huntsville starts pulling away in 3rd.

Hallsvilles offense got them to the playoffs. Lack of defense got them the final seed.

THigh vs Jacksonville 2 Fridays ago. It appears Thigh and Whitehouse just scrubbed their own film from YouTube.

THighs offense is what makes them tick. They can easily just out score most teams. Very balanced. Cant key on any one thing. The defense is fast but can be scored on by good physical offenses.

Hallsville isn't very good but Whitehouse is scrappy. I can see Whitehouse keeping it close until 3rd or 4th.

THigh and Marshall haven't been tested in over a month(playing each other). I think only way Ned and Montgomery win, is if they can get an early lead and play keep away. THigh scores in bunches and is more likely to come back quickly. Compared to Marshalls Wing T. You get up by 3 scores on Marshall and it could be over before Marshall knows what hits them.

Marshall fan watching. This determines if we get home game vs Huntsville or Montgomery..

FbM was the 2nd best team in state. They knocked off Huntsville, which beat us on a missed 2 point conversation attempt( PI no call). We were going back and forth with Huntsville for 4th and 5th in the state rankings that year. I actually cheered for Crosby to knock off Aledo last year. One title appearance has gone to yalls head.
