I feel your pain PA athletic supporter. If they would not have disassembled the coaching staff after Coach Marler passed. We would not be having this conversation and da' boys would be wearing a ring at least one...

I do think of BISD as a whole. And I feel if Ozen and Central want to play a tough pre-district schedule the can play La Marque or Texas City. I KNOW it would benefit West Brook to drop the games but, like I said before Mr. Carol will never let that happen.

Ok then... Would you agree or disagree that West Brook would benefit from dropping the other two Bmt. schools from their schedule and playing 2 other 5A schools?

WB may not be world beaters but, I don't believe they are due all of the unjust criticism. They may not have played anyone yet. But that is because the "BIG BALD MAN", THOMAS, won't let us quit playing those other sorry BMT. teams.

Yes the coaches have done a great job. Although they have a lot better players there then when I coached there. But they look to be really good this year.

Does it really matter what your ranking is?? Does it help the bookies in Vagas set the line? I don't think so. It's just a number so guys like us can sit around and question it and give OUR unbiased opinion...ha ha

An STJFL player can just look at another one and they know what the other one is going to do???? Do they teach mental telapathy down there or something? You take a non-athlete and have him play 8 years of Jr. football (because his parents want him to) and compare him to a natural athlete, I believe the natural athlete will play. JMO

Knowing all the before mentioned coaches personally, and working with some of them, I believe that Alvin is a great coach and I knew that when he was at PNG. BUT to put him in the category as the other guys will take a few years. He has done a remarkable job with Lumberton so far and I wish him the best of luck. One thing about him that is better than most is that he does a great job game planning and utilizing his kids to the maxim of their ability. And he will do all of this with out any Franks' brothers, a Anthony Byerly, or a Micah Mosley. Who knows...maybe he will produce a big name we will all remember for a LONG time.

Maybe SFA vs. H-F in the 80's and 90's would be a rivalry or WO-S vs. Jasper in the 90's. But I guess it is time for a new rival...

Great example!!! You are exactly right!! As for the Larry and Dan Ray debate... Dan Ray hands down!! Although Larry is a great coach in his own right. Glad to see he got a raise. Deservedly so.

In my experience as a youth football player, Ex. Jr. High coach, Ex. Varsity coach, and now STJFL coach...I would agree that some positions DO favor playing youth football. But the youth programs that focus on winning and not technique or similar plays, formations, and terminology of the Jr. High or High School do cause a problem. You have to undo and reteach. With that being said, there are some Jr. Highs that don't even run what the High Schools run. Usually programs that are not as good. So I do see both sides.
