1. Love to watch BS play basketball. Best example of team basketball I see every year. Their fans come out to support them very well; was a sea of purple when I walked in. If they would have hit their free throws last night they would have won by 50+. Good luck the rest of the way.
2. Anyone know the game times for the semis and finals in Huntsville for 4A region #.
3. Just FYI Woden has a nice gym but it is an internet dead spot.
4. I actually saw a little of the their game last night. Only suited up 7 players. Should be an easy win for BS.
5. Huntington football may win more district games than Huntington basketball.
6. Hudson coach teaches team ball and it was very evident in this game.
7. Huntington up by 10 mid way thru 3rd and coach took the air out of the ball. Also went with small lineup and lose by 8. Go figure! Went small against Jasper in first game and lost by 10 then too.
8. "Most fundamental team I've seen in a while" and the most unselfish one. Open man shots the ball most ever time. They play team ball which you just don't see any more. Very well coached.
9. When I looked at the RM schedule I thought it was odd that the "good ole boy" teams were playing some gams at the Scrap Yard in Conroe. Normally all those teams only play their games at the main complex at Collins Park. I now realize that those were the only parks that got games in on Sunday due to the rain. Imagine that. Everyone else just paid their $900 for 2 games.
10. My kids are done with travel ball but I still try to stay semi informed with the goings on. I noticed at some point that Triple Crown Sports had bought out the Ronald McDonald showcase in Houston. I wondered how a "for" profit company buys the rights for to a "non"profit fundraiser tournament would work out money wise but I guess folks are happy. I know they have also bought out the old Fireworks tournament in Colorado. Anyone have any thoughts or comments on how Triple Crown runs their tournaments. I saw that the Fireworks tournament is now like $1,600 entry fee plus whatever kickback they get from the bookings of hotels through them. That sure seems like a lot in my opinion. Anyway, I looked at this years' RM tournament webpage and noticed only 50 or so colleges had signed up and none of the big boys were listed; no UT, A&M, Baylor, OU, etc. From Texas, there were only 7 4-year schools signed up. I also noticed a weather update page that said all games were on for Friday. With a 100% chance of rain for Saturday that is probably the only games that teams will get in. In reading the fine print it says that if you play 2 games and the tournament is rained out then you get NO money back. So that's basically $900 entry fee plus rooms and eats for maybe 2 games. My daughter commented she remembered when the RM tournament entry fee was a stuffed animal. Not sure it was ever that but I know that it sure wasn't $900.
11. New basketball coach and AD is Shawn Jones from Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School.
12. If students are allowed to participate then how many kids that are great athletes but have trouble with grades or are a discipline problem will suddenly become "home schooled?" What is the accountability for a home schooled student?  I doubt there are any.  If there are none then technically a kid could say he was home schooled and never crack a book.  Maybe there will be a new charter school come about call Home School Prep.
13. Huntington had some good basketball teams 3 or 4 years ago but unfortunately, so did all other teams in their district.  I can remember several years back when there were 2 teams from their district playing in Huntsville at regional tournament.  I know they had at least one 20 win season and maybe 2; not exactly sure on that.  Talent pool has fallen there as has that whole district.  Not sure anyone won a playoff game this year and maybe last year.
and the fact that they can be that tall AND run all day is huge
They can run all day and be tall but those big guys can't run all day.  They get tired.  I witnessed that in two games.  The big part is that they have 3 or 4 that can rotate in and keep a couple on the floor and never slow down.
That is true...when one got winded, they just put another guy in and did not lose a beat.

16. Silsbee scored 85 points and made only 1 three pointer.  That makes me tired just thinking about all the running and gunning they did.
17. Stood in line for 45 minutes to see this game and was not disappointed in the players effort.  Was very disappointed in the refs!!!  They let the game get way to physical.  It was called very bad on both sides, no one got an advantage off of that.  Someone mentioned earlier that Tatum had more depth.  That was probably a key as they subed a lot and never seemed to lose anything with them.  Not sure why Kountze stopped pressing; it may not have lead to many turnovers but it also did not lead to very many Tatum easy baskets.  Was surpised Tatum was not bigger height wise than they were but they dang sure can rebound. Sad to see Kountze players after the game; they gave it their all and came up short.  Good luck to Tatum in their potential matchup with White Oak.

Just looked at google maps and its 77 miles from Yates to Livingston.  73 miles from Silsbee to Livingston.  Problem solved!!
that gym will not hold the crowd.... trust me after kountze vs new waverly played there.
Wow, not even their new gym?  Their JH gym use to host a lot of games but they have built a new HS that has a nice gym.

20. If you go to the WO/ Newton game and they clear the gym after the game, I am thinking you will get stuck at the end of the line for the Tatum/Kountze game and thus may not get a seat.  Great idea of playing all games at one place but bad choice of location.
21. I would not think so but not really sure.
