1. Needless, stupid penalty on the Mustangs for someone doing a "flip" in the end zone after there TD.
 2.
Killed my doe today! Hopefully buck tomorrow
Congrats!!! i hunted last Tue, Wed, and Thursday afternoons and again Friday morning.  did not see a single deer.
 3.
I stole this from another board, but it represents my sentiments regarding some of the comments made here toward Skip. This guy said it better than I could have... "No matter how good you are, or think you are, you can never take winning for granted. Witness tonight - Baylor, the first team with a losing record at the time of the game to take out a #1 teams in NCAA history. The same Baylor that we all know has NO DEFENSE. Stanford holds Oregon to only 14 points and wins in overtime 17-14. This is the Oregon that has dominated the west coast teams and put up a lot of points all year. Very well said! My real message to the Navasota's, Stephenville's, West Orange Stark's, Carthage's, LaMarque's and all the other teams still in the playoffs---A true champion plays every down of every game like they are the underdog. It is alright to be confident if you back it up with the way you play. Being cocky is believing that you can't be beat. There are a lot of teams that have players with special skills, but only a few that get the most out of every player on the team. Practice with pride, play with pride, but win or lose with class." ...and to add to it... We as WOS fans have witnessed our own "Baylor vs K-States": 1990 #1 WO-S (10-0) loses to CE King (4-6) in the first round 1998 #1 WO-S (10-0) loses to Silsbee (6-4) in the first round. A team we had shut out earlier in the season. Everybody has their own opinions, but respect should never be confused with a lack of confidence... Those who think it is don't really understand one or the other... JMO
4.
Why do this now? A better time to gauge this would be at the end of the season.
Your probably right, I guess I was just thinking about it on my way home from the game last night.  So lets not count this years team yet as they are still playing.
 5. Was at  the 1st WO-S/West Columbia playoff game back at the Stangs old home away from home, the Astrodome.
 6. Tonight I saw my 1st Mustang playoff game since 1988.  See I moved out of state before the 89 season got started and while i always have followed the Mustangs via friends, family, newspapers, radio and eventually the internet, I hadn't seen any playoff games and probably only a very few regular season games scattered through the years.  I moved back to Orange this last summer.  Since I never seen much (if any) of the teams through the 90's and 2000's I can only speak of the teams I watched from 77-89.  So here are my top 5 teams.  I am interested and looking forward to readings yalls responses. 1) 1987- That 15-0 team will probably be #1 on most if not all lists.  The standard bearer for all Mustang teams to live up too. 2)  I guess most would say the 1986 state champion team, but the 1985 team was a pretty darn good club as well.  That year they went 10-0 in the regular season and lost 19-6 to a VERY good Houston Yates team.  I believe the 19 points Yates scored was by far their lowest point output of the season. (I think they were averaging something like 50 a game). Too me, had WO-S beat Yates they would have won the 5a title that year as Yates did.  But they didn't beat Yates so I guess the 86 team gets the #2 spot. 3) The above mentioned 1985 squad. 4)  The 1988 state finalist team. 5) 1980.  Steve McCarty's last season. That years team was 9-1 with the only loss coming to Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson. That was the team that featured Todd Dodge and Brent Duhon and were ranked #1 all season.  Sad part is this 1980 team was probably better than the 1979 WO-S team which won district but since at that time only the district champions went to the playoffs, the Mustangs stayed home. There you have it. Like I stated earlier I can only speak of the team i followed, so i look forward to reading your opinions.
 7. Halftime 41-0. What do you as a coach tell your team down by 41 in a playoff game?. Cleveland has 0 offensive 1st downs. They have 2 courtesy of wos defense.
 8. Wos blocked a punt recovered in end zone for a td. 41-0 wos 5:10 left in 2nd
 9.

Hardly anyone here on the Cleveland side. Must be late arrivals. Cleveland took and went 3 and out.
It is because they know, Marshman.  They know.
Lol
 10. Hardly anyone here on the Cleveland side. Must be late arrivals. Cleveland took and went 3 and out.
 11. I have seen WO-S play a couple times but none for Cleveland. I just like to err on the side of caution I guess.
 12. I don't know anything about the Cleveland team other than there 7-3 record. Just wondering why so many are predicting an easy win or even a shut out for WOS. They are in the playoffs and they did win 7 games. Didn't WOS win 7 regular season games last year and they went 4 rounds deep in the playoffs? All I'm saying is at this time of the year you can't afford to take anyone lightly. If you do then you very well will find yourselves playing basketball.
 13.
ST14, I encourage you to have a broader view of WO-S fans.  It's easy to focus on a few trumpet blowers on this message board, but I know quite a few of by Mustang friends/alumni who scope this board and they do NOT brag and carry on with bold predictions and constant reminders of this year's accomplishments, etc., not even in private conversation.  Most of the WO-S fans here take the cautious optimistic approach to our chances in tonight's game.  We respect Silsbee and their ability on the field.  This is not Lou Holtz/Notre Dame speak...I mean it.  Personally, I'm tired of the shut-out talk.  It will not shock many of us if Silsbee scores and makes this a competitive game.  I can safely speak for the "quiet majority" of Mustang fans that we wish both teams an injury-free game and a deep run into the playoffs.
Very well said!
 14.

Anyone notice how the 1st weekend of gun season was warm and muggy? Forecast for this weekend is the same. That figures doesn't it. Nice cool mornings duringthe weekwhenI canthunt then by the weekend it warms up! We need to break that cycle!!!
Would rather be hot than cold typically! But last weekend was miserably hot in the long sleeves and pants hunting
And see I'm just the opposite. I'd much rather cold weather than hot anytime.
