Dawson a young school on an impressive run
badndn replied to Michele's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes. That is the most Impressive. Pearland, Pearland Dawson, Manvel and Friendswood all right in that 20 mile radius. -
I see this Nederland team as a bigger version of the PNG team that lost to Waller in mid 2000. We wore you down with the running game, hit a few big pass plays here and there and played a very physical defense that would bend a bit, but forced teams to get outta there gameplan and make mistakes. Problem was we ran into someone who was just a little bigger and we couldn't wear'em down. Nederland circa 2012 fits this same mode, just they are bigger and can matchup physically with many teams. Dawson may be that first BIG test that Nederland can't wear down, but if so, just like PNG did with Waller, Ned will go down fightin. Dawson like Waller will feel it the next week.

Dawson a young school on an impressive run

Yes Dawson has done well in a short time, but to be fair they were pulling from Pearland High School, one of the great HS football programs over the past 10 years and Manvel is just to the south, so not like they didn't have a lot to work with from day 1. -
Yes Washington may not be the starting TE, but that's because he is a starter on the D line. He is however a load at TE. Very physical blocker and can catch an carry people for xtra yardage. I thought he was the difference in MCM his Soph. Year. Wherever they lined him up they ran behind him and had great success, plus he kept us honest by catching a couple passes, maybe one for a TD?? or big 1st down can't remember for sure.

How did Lamarque drop down to 3A and go DII? Are they in district with El Campo?
-
Did DemDawgs swap teams and change his name to Cover 2 Wild Rattler?
-
Wow, playing this one in GTowns back yard. Gupton is about 10-15 miles from Georgetown. Guessing Angleton lost a coin flip.
-
For that matter, Beaumont Central, PNG, Nederland, Vidor and even WOS (now 3A) all played in 5A at one point. Baytown Lee was 5A couple years back. How come he aint cryin about them? Also Pfulgerville Conally was 5A last year right? Didn't bother the "Real Deal" Bulldogs Friday night did it?

SUMMER CREEK BULLDOGS: THE BEST 4A TEAM OF 2012-2013!!!
badndn replied to DemDAWGS!'s topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Explain how GTown had a 5A player pool to choose from with a smaller enrollment than SC?? I gotta see this math! PNG has 1400 students, but we have more kids in our FB program than the two local 5As who have 2300+ students. Only because the kids all love to be in the program. Doesn't make us 5A. Same said for GTown. They have 4A enrollment numbers and many kids in the football program. SC could do the same. Just get more students off the streets and into the football program. Novel concept. -
Yes and the Cats are battle tested. Nothing GTown throws at them will be a surprise. Should be a very good game. Good Luck Angleton. Gotta keep region 3 in SETX.
-
GT beat "The Greatest Show On Turf" so there is no way Angleton will beat them! :) Go Cats. Always support the Purple!
-
Just like I stated before the game, SC had not been tested all year. First test and they failed! SC goes 1-2 the past two years with all that talent and Nederland with no talent ;) is now 4-1 in that span! heck even PNG has more playoff wins (2) the past three years then those "Big Boys" over at SC. Good Luck Bulldawgs in 2013, maybe this Humbling experience will help better prepare them next year for what should be a very good season.
-
Word is Dawson 2012 is a notch below Dawson 2011. I know for a fact that Nederland 2012 is a notch above Nederland 2011. So should be a very good game after last years tight match up for most of the game.
-
That's the best you could come back with. "We whooped PNG". Woo Hoo. Who didn't this year! Thanks for making my point for me.
-
One reason you want to open it up and give them more to prepare for is just that, give them more to prepare for. There is only so much time between now and next game and the more things the opponent has to practice and gameplan against the less time they have to prepare for what you do best! Especially come playoff time when they don't know you like local foes do.

"SCDAWGS:Root for the team based on their accomplishments not that of a poster." And why is that? Because you said so? Many,Many,Many people root against teams because of an obnoxious fan base. And further more, to date what has SC accomplished? Outside of a very one dimensional scrappy Vidor team who has SC beaten? Dayton was in disarray at seasons end, BH beat a 5-5 Livingston team that was every bit as good as their record said they were, and Crosby bearly beat a bad Ozen team. SC has yet to actually accomplish, to use your word, anything!
-
No it's a bunch. So you ask why we don't like SC because you rooted for Ned last night, and we respond and now you don't care if we are backing your Dawgs?? Also DemDawgs has the right to spew out all the BS he wants and we have that same right to call him or any other SC poster on it! Hoping a good SC teams gets takin down a notch today in College Station! Might make them a little more Humble for 2013. And Go Dogs! The black and gold ones that is.

Actually the UIL has nothing to do with Neutral sites or PA announcers. Teams determine neutral site and then flip for home team. Home team then is responsible for providing a PA. So though it may have been annoying, there was nothing wrong with it.
-
So Humble Summer Creek High School has won ONE, repeat ONE, that's 1 playoff game in its history and they are a "Big Boy" now. I am the biggest Georgetown fan in Texas today! What a bunch of blowhards.

All-District 2012 - The Waiting
badndn replied to raiderfan2010's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Only Indian slam dunk is Kaleb Clark. Rose will probably get 1st WR, but being a JR he may end up 2nd. Lots a Bulldogs and Pierats will fill out the team. Montana is my league MVP. Off MVP may be Hopkins. Def MVP will be someone from Ned. Several good choices. -
Micah Mosley received his Engineering Degree.
-
There was a RB on Freshman team that was very good. Very elusive.
-
Mosley already graduated from UNT.
