  2. The GT whitecaps have two teams . an 11 u and the new team 13U, the 11U team are all Vidor kids the 13 U are kids from all over. Chad Bunting is the Manger of both teams and he coaches the 11 U . The 13 U team has two paid coaches. Justin Rhodes who lives in Beaumont and Derick Kilmer who lives in Vidor. Both Coaches played for Kyle Green at Vidor High School. This is a new team looking for new talent from the Golden Triangle area. The First try outs were very good, They are having another on Sept 6Th. If you are intrested email gt [email protected].
  3. Congradulations Pirates !!! To both sheatlnad and pinto, Great job. VYBL is proud of you. Play hard and have fun in Dallas.
  4. good jod PA congrats. I have a slice of humble pie for you next time i see you.
  5. PA has a soilid team, they look good. Vidor against PA tue night, get ready for double header PA. Vidor coming on strong. Pa won the toss for the first game they will be home. They have both pitchers ready to go. It's going to be a battle for both teams.
  6. Congrats Cameron... I sat behind him in Church Sunday, He looks like a ball player. His little brother played on the Vidor sheatland B team.
  7. Where is the tournament at Troy? HOW DARE YOU REVEAL MY IDENITY !!!! Just kidding, who is this? We are playing in groves. Tonights second game was re-schedule because of the weather, that is good for us we do not have to play a doble hitter tommorrow night. The loser of that game will. YEAH for us.
  8. Baseball wins again. The cruelest sport every invented, The high hopes of the parent of every young boy, as they battle their way through the divisions of baseball. The evolution theory actually works here, only the strong survive and they Ultimately lose against our adversary known as Baseball. Yes we say its a team sport and it is, except its based on the individual player " Oh it is not your fault Johnny" but it really is. Moms and Dads hate it when their baby makes a mistakes,But such is life, drop balls, Strike Outs, Pop ups, Bad throws. Little Johny has to learn how lose if he is going to be successful in life. And Baseball will make sure that he does. Baseball does not love you, it hates you, it wants to crush your head and laugh at you, it has won the battle for over a hundred years and will always win. Baseball is unbeatable. And as Little Johnny grows up the ball gets faster the fields get bigger, the base are further and it just isn't what it used to be. And then he quits. " I don't like playing anymore, I'm burnt out" he says. Oh the disappointment, just remembering the thousand of dollars spent, the hours of driving back and fourth from practice to lessons to games, The corn dogs and nachos and the five dollars bowls of space ice cream, three hundred dollars bat every year for what. I know. time spent with your kid, hours of playing with them, pushing them to try harder, showing them what it takes to lose and how to deal with it. Well I say screw you baseball, We are gonna keep playing.
  9. Vidor has the strongest team in this sectional, they are going to have to play hard to win it in the loser bracket. They took a loss against PA after a pitching change and multible walks then a hit and more walks then another hit, the boys lost it with their attitudes, they bounced back tonight with a win they now have to win three in row with a double hitter Mon night, The loser bracket is a hard fight to win. But I think they can do it. I know the can. the other teams are drying up on pitching and Vidor has two kids that haven't touch the rubber yet. and their bats are hot. Sampson drills two homers tonight and I will guess about 8 base hits. only two strike outs. the TC team made several errors. I would say that group of kids from TC kept their cool, they really stick together as team. It was nice to watch a team lift each other up and the coaches were great too. We inter-leagued with TC this season and that was great for our kids to travel and play other teams, this has been a really fun year for the Bronco division, I hope other leagues around the area participate in inter-league next year at the 13- 14 year old level.
  10. Bronco standings....Orange 2 beats TC1 16-15, PA1 beats Vidor1 11-9.
  11. Great job Vidor, you guys look like champions tonight. Best of luck in Dallas.
  12. Thanks Benn. Guru is right, alot of good ideas.
  13. Benn, Hey this is Troy. What is Katy's web site can you send me a link I would to check it out. I would love to see the league open up for select players. It could easily be managed, the leagues problem and I speak for our league only is having talented coaches who can bring kids to the next level. Most Dads can't coach past bronco or even mustang. If they themselves have not been trained at higher levels. They can yell and get upset real well, But coaching the kids to be better players over a period time is what is needed. At a price the average family can afford. After watching the College world series it seems to me (and I may be wrong) that alot of those players have rich daddys that can afford the instrutions it takes to get in one those BIG Time schools. Not to mention the sponserships. I can only imagine how many average and lower income kids who have the talent get left behind because they cant afford to train thier kids or afford to play select. You have to admit that Ford Park makes a heck a profit off baseball, and softball. And the Bronco Allstar for Vidor would be unstopable if we had a few players from select back on the team.
  14. good luck to both of those teams, sounds like they are going to make a good showing for SETexas baseball, I know the asst coaches on the other team, Justin and Derick, they are young and excitied about Baseball, and really great kids. They are good examples for the players.
  15. Wow, Drama in Shetland ville--- Hey the Groves 2 catcher is the funniest kid I ever seen did anyone see him make that play home in their first game against Vidor? That is what tee ball is all about Having fun and learning a fundamental or maybe even two. Win or lose be a good sport........ GO VIDOR (crush thier heads) just kidding
  16. Select has some advantages over leagues only because of coaching, Select ball is not the answer for every kid some just havent developed enough. I know Vidor has lost several players to select this season, but the other kids that played league where able to play different positions and develop further. Bronco and Pony age kids who are advanced need good coaches to develope furthur to be competitive for highschool and hopefully college, Unless your willing to fork up dollars, you might as well just be content with league ball. A joint effort by all the area leagues could enhance the level of league play for bronco and pony. and still keep it affordable
  17. Bronco, Vidor team is very solid. Good pitching depth strong fielding, and they swing the bat they wont be looking for walks. Hopefully it will be a good section tourney with only four teams scheduled to play....
