K-ville WILL NOT beat Jasper by 40 or 30 or 20 or even 10. :roll: Jasper's defense is salty and IF K-ville comes out with a win it will be by 7 or less. I really like Kirbyville and their staff, and have supported and defended them for years, but some of the posters make me want to see them get their a$$ kicked. :evil:

Newton WILL be ready to play Friday night.....How the game goes just depends on how they match up. Newton has a big quick defense that can stop the run or the pass but their offense stuggled last week against a good Jasper D. Newton is very young this yr with only 6 srs. on the team and I think this lack of experience will hurt Newton in the early games. But like Barbay says "you only get better by playing better teams." GO EAGLES

I still say you CAN NOT compare a 2A school to a 5A school no matter how good or bad they both are.

OK, not that it really matters, with 24 sec left Jasper qb flushes from the pocket and rolls left, checks off receivers and has to throw the ball away. Look up and 24 sec still on the clock. HMMMM maybe a mistake....Next play Jasper qb rolls right , dodges one or two defenders and throws deep, incomplete. Look at clock 22 sec.....HMMMMM. Remember the ball is somewhere around the 20 yd line and Jasper trying to score. By this time Newton coaches are LIVID.....calls ref over, refs have conference, play resumes and clock is fine after that. :shock: SOOO.....I like to think it was a mistake.

I think Crockett was a little to big for their britches...over confident.....expecting little ol 2A Newton to run and hide while they had their way with us. They should have remembered all the spankings we gave them when we were still 3A. I also think Newton played better than was expected, so who knows what will happen this week.

I bet is was a long bus ride back to Crockett.

I doubt Newton will stomp Jasper, we're not that great this yr either. :cry:

Ipromise you that Newton DOES NOT have the most talented kids every year. Coaching is 80% of the game. Newton kids just don't think they can lose and have complete faith in the system. Plus we have some mean a$$ coaches that work the kids like dogs so that they are prepared when it is time to play. Come watch a Newton practice and see just how brutal and physical it is. I bet the only other school in this area that practices like that is WOS, and you see the results.

Newton came out and got the job done, not pretty but effective.

Just because a team has a numbers advantage doesn't mean that they will win. Newton never had the numbers in 3a but still managed ti win a whole lot of games. Burkeville will bring the speed that Buna is not used to seeing. Burkville by 8

This is gonna be a tough one. Crockett possibly has one of the best defensive linemen in the state for all classifications. Double OT with Kilgore says a lot. Just remember that you can't get better by playing crappy teams. GO EAGLES!!!
