    under 2 is a good era and under 1 is really good .....you have to remember that these are highschool kids and the quality of a lineup isnt that good, they may have 2 or 3 above average guys hitting but after that its just average at best so if you cant pitch against that then your in trouble

    ERA is statisticly over a period of nine innings so a decent ERA might be around 3 to 4 and a really good ERA would be 2 and under.

    robicheaux is a good pitcher but harrington is on another level when you talk about "best" pitcher in the district, come on now just stop all the non sense, get real vidor man, get outside of your little country town and see real baseball

    PNG's team and fans stepped into vidor the other night laughing and smiling and went home making excuses, and THAT is not "REAL BASEBALL". They could show some class, but ill admit, Vidor's fans weren't completely innocent either.

    Vidor is a very solid team but Harrington is throwing the ball too well to be beat right now....the only way png loses this one is if the defense kills them again....PN-G 4-2, small ball wins this game

    Talk about pitching?? well Robichau is throwing as well as anyone in this part of Texas right now. he has two complete game wins under his belt after 4 district games. Hope to see him and Harrington battle it out.

    whats going on?

    If you are talking about the Nederland game last week,  the gloves are the problem!  10 errors in the game.  Other than they worked the two pitchers in the game to death they will be alright.  Can't give the other team 4 and 5 outs an inning.

    The two pitchers they worked in were throwing strikes and thats ALL you can ask for. Nederland was hitting the ball hard and sometimes you can't do anything about that. They were hitting line drives in the gaps almost at will and Vidor handled those hits better than most teams would. They should bounce back from that game and they will be alright. Every team has their hi's and lows.

    Nederland didn't hit the ball that well.  When you drop 4 in field flies your not going to win games.  Not complaining about the pitchers.  They should not have been out there as long as they were but the defence let them down.  They did play better the other night against Central.  I think the final was 17-4.  great job

    Were you?  If you want to call 4 errors on easy plays in the first two innings rocked.  The defence let us down.  We play better than that.

    the defence made a few errors in the first, but nederland only scored 1 run in the first inning. what about the other 18?? Nederland had to have hit the ball to put up those kind of numbers.

  18. Worst Way to Lose?

    IMO, the worst way to lose happened to us. We were down 5 to 3 with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, line drive to left center and one run scores but the next run gets gunned down on a perfect throw at home. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

    But you went down trying.  That is the very important.

    "Trying"?  Trying only means that you failed.  No one tells you "good try" or "good effort" when you succeed, they tell you "good job."  People who reward trying aren't giving their players much credit.  Trying should be a guarantee every time you step onto the field.   8)

    I agree, some things in baseball are expected... annd trying is one of them :P
