They rebounded fairly well tonight, their height is about the same as the Tigers although if you went and compared man to man in the starting 5 we may have had an inch or 2 advantage.....which is very rare this year. And as fir their press, i wouldnt say it was great but tonight it gave us some trouble. I do wonderwhich one of the two teams was the worse free throw shooting team tonight buti think it was probably the team that ended up on the short side.

Service in Crosby was very sketchy to say the least. Our Tigers definitely looked lackluster tonight. We looked sluggish or lazy on some of our passes, defense and rebounding much of the time. It looked like you might get 2 or 3 Tigers going all out at one time but never all together. If we get through friday night and play against Yates press and dont improve on how we handled the press tonight, it wont be pretty to say the least. Tonight we almost lost the game at the free throw line and yet we won it at the free throw line at the same time. Yes i know doesnt make much sense when you read it. But what i am getting at is we missed enough free throws to lose the game. Yet Washington shot just as bad if not worse from the line to allow us to win. At the end of the day the only thing that matters at this time of the year is moving on to the next round and we are going back tomour second home in Huntsville. Way to go Tigers! Way to pull through on an off night and live to play another day.

What does Connally have to enable them to even slow down yates??

Yes it was still a concern but yates isnt the only focal point. You are just the ones we are mostly affected by. None of us agreed with faith family last year. We know it goes on in Dallas as well. We have had the same issues for 8-10 years now, did you see as many of us complaining...no, most knew we had a very special group ourselves. One that was the best in the state for those 4 years, and yes i know we werent state champions those four but i am talking about the 4 years as a whole.

Know where you are coming from but cant agree there...behind Bush and maybe not that far but Brae is still the stand alone.

The only question for this year in 4A is can anyone keep yates under 100.

I understand where you are coming from and there will always be those with issues. However being really good really has no part of it other than drawing attention. For example since football has been a part of this discussion, I haven’t heard or seen much of any discussion of the Carthage football program as far as this issue goes. What the isssue is is the number of transfers these big city schools get pretty much yearly that just happen to be or fit the description of big time players. You say any city with an apartment complex is a hotbed but that isn’t the case. Small towns have apartment complexes but when you are farther away from a job or your “true” home you don’t see the parents willing to drive the distance to transfer their kid to said small town school. In a big city you can just hop on a city bus and go across town to a different school.

Then that parent should take issues with the school district and find out why they arent recruiting as hard for football as they Are for basketball. Its obvious it doesnt matter to the district. If the school district is going to allow such activities be it legal not or what then yes All sports or activites should have to play up in a higher classification.

Maybe so.. didn’t think about that.

It’s obvious how much football matters to many of those schools. All you have to do is look in the stands.

I will even say that group last year was still better at the starting 5 than Yates and maybe even faith family. But weren’t near as deep another benefit yearly for those big city magnets.

Had a problem with it before during and now after their years. They were the exception. Those teams come around rarely in small towns not yearly like in these other cases.

Those LCM middle school cubs were on our MS schedule this year, and I don’t know the score but I do know our MS 8 th grade went undefeated and I don’t think had any close games. And if you didnt see it on the other thread they just won the Greater Houston area Championship this weekend going undefeated and beating two teams that were undefeated in the semis and finals. The Lake Olympia MS team they beat in the final was out of that Missouri City fort bend school district. They hadn’t lost a game in 2 years of middle school play....well until they met the Tigers!
