On the possession before he left the game Pat was down, it looked like he let go of the ball and a defender jumped on him and the ball. Pat came to the sideline very gingerly.  On his next play, he was running with the ball  and just stopped and went to the ground.  It is a hip problem. He has been walking very gingerly on the sideline.

I have to agree with Dove, top be considered on the national level like Yates you have to recruit like Yates!

I agree completely, just said it made for an interesting evening.  There were  a few bad calls but nothing bad.  Only thing I thought they might have done a little different was stop the clock a couple times when this delayed the inbounds or something like that.

In this second game, Nederland's ball movement was too much for a tired Tiger team.  The Tiger's appeared to have expended most of their energy in hard fought game with Memorial. It was an interesting evening as far as officiating as they were training new refs.  In some of the games they would sub in new sets of refs every few minutes and they would recieve lessons even during play.

Nederland takes this one 44-33.

yes Brooks, Hardeway, Willis, one guard I remember from jv or freshman and one more.

Along with Haynes and Jenkins, playing Nederland varsity right now in the second of back to back games.

Back in Nederland for some more fall ball.  WOS beat Kelly 41-14 and Silsbee just beat Memorial 35-34.

Definitely an improvement over the past years.  Good to see it. More back on the thread topic, I know there has been a lot of talk about the Tiger's speed on the court but I never realized how fast Chris was until his kickoff return this past friday!  Great job.

Basketball coaches have passed on the 'weak ' scheduling philosophy to the football coaches!

That was a very rude moment indeed but it actually was during Curtis Buckley's moment of honor, which was before Mark's.

But they have only been practicing for a week with pads on. That 8th grade Ktz team will breeze through district in basketball and football. Silsbee's 8th grade is a elite team in my opinion.. It was evident that Kountze was outmanned as far as overall talent in both games. I was actually there on the Kountze side due to knowing the parent of a Kountze 7th grade player.  Kountze actually ran at least 2 or 3 of these plays with not enough players on the field. These kids have actually been in pads almost three weeks now, they were supposed to play a game  two thursdays ago but couldn't because they had only got their pads that monday.  It was obvious that these kids weren't getting enough direction either in amount of time or quality of instuction. Coaches should have realized a lot quicker how many players were on the field.  Those kids deserve better.
