People sometimes ruin a good thread with the political talk, Yates talk, and "real" basketball talk.  :-\
It is definitely getting old.  Sure Yates may be the overwhelming favorite but I don't feel anyone should be telling any team they can't beat them,  you should be encouraging kids that they can accomplish anything through hard work not that they have no chance.  I bet one of the leading people in this area doesn't tell his kids that they can't accomplish goals.......
2. Had 3 does and yearlings to each side of me this morning early.  May have had a buck on his scrape about ten minutes earlier than that.  All this before having to sit through a strong thunderstorm in my pop up blind about 7:20. May have seen as many as 7 or 8 deer.
3. Get to start my season in the morning,  parents out ner fredericksburg and it has been pretty slow there..
4. HJ playing hard and the Tigers look flat. A little friction between the two teams. The Tigers being careless with the ball. If we pay like this next week, wos will get there shutout.  We will have to play better on both sides of the ball.
5. Naturally you can't turn the ball over.  For the Tigers to win they are going to have to play good defense an limit WOS to a low point total.  You won't beat them by trying to "outscore" them.  On the offensive side we must have some good drives to limit how long the defense is on the field.  And the big thing will be controlling the line of scrimmage,  limiting pressure on Reed and giving us a chance to gain some yardage on the ground. We have enough speed in some of the skill positions to offset some of the Mustangs speed but their speed will keep us from having the big plays that we have become used to. We can't afford some of the costly mistakes we have made at times : dropped passes,  personal fouls,  untimely penalties.
6.
WOW !!!! Silibee gave up 37 Th to LCM ,
Yes and We Tiger fans can say WOW!!!! WOS only scored 18 against LCM!!  Point is none of this really matters.  Our defense has to play its best against WOS and WOS will probably need a pretty good offensive night against us.  Hopefully it will be the game that many people are building it up to be.  I am sure it will be the best defense we have faced and I feel that we may have the most explosive offense that WOS has faced.  The problem is that the Tigers will probably need some sustained drives instead of those eplosive scores to give our defense some time to rest.

And let's be honest png is absolutely horrible! Silsbee gets scored on every single week so don't expect their defense to just all of a sudden turn into the steel curtain! Wos will hold silsbee to 14 points or less and score 17 or more!
Yes We lost to PNG and they aren't having a good year.  This was a game that the Tigers should have won by probably 2 TDs.  We cost ourselves that by dropping several passes.  There were also a couple of big interference calls that weren't made costing the Tigers(one deep in Indian territory that turned the ball over on downs and one on the 2 point conversion try that decided the game).  Yes there was also one that was missed against us as well.  But another key factor in that game was Chris Elam didn't play.  Since he has returned the Tigers have become a more dangerous team in all areas of the game.
Thats some serious excuse-in! :o
No excuses we lost.  We dropped the passes that would have won the game.  My point is that this is not the same Tiger team as it was then. As far as this match up goes,  I will say this if WOS shuts out the Tigers I will be very impressed.  The Tigers have to keep the pressure off of Reed and play great defense to give themselves a chance to win.  This will not be a game where the Tigers can simply outscore their opponent and I don't think it will be one where WOS can score just a TD or 2 and expect to win either. I haven't seen the Mustangs defense but have heard how fast they are, with the Tigers speed at key positions it should make for an entertaining game.

9. I could be wrong but I believe that must still be last years roster,  I am pretty sure Santee graduated.
10. That might be a trip I have to make...
11. Needless to say that thermometer has never worked right. Those were taken near Woodville.
12. I  notice on the Lee schedule posted here it says at Silsbee Dec. 4 and on the posted Silsbee schedule it says at Lee....

16. Not much respect for local teams!
17. It has been no secret on here that Davaughn has had his problems in the past,  if he keeps these in the past he can be a nice addition to the Tigers.  He won't be the standout player and doesn't need to try to be.  The Tigers already have their two standout players in Elam and Holmes, along with several players who can step up and have a big game when needed.  I have seen Thomas play this summer and he has played quite well.  He will be one of the Tigers bigger players and can play inside or out.  He just needs to do what is asked of him at the time and not try to play where he wants.  In the summer games I have seen he has been used in both and done well.  He also has the ability to step up and have a big game when needed.  All we Tiger fans need is for him to be a team player both on and off the court.
18. Anyone have any results from this one?
19.
Honestly winning district doesn't matter when you play the same dang team EVERY YEAR in the playoffs it seems. 3rd place you play Huffman. 1st place you play Huffman.
When you are the big school in the district that is what happens.  Huffman was threw biggest school in their district before the realignment I believe.  Numbers this time give Splendora that distinction but they just can't seem to make the playoffs.
20. The Tigers will be d1 no matter what and will play huffman unless Splendora makes the playoffs which isn't going to happen.
21. As far as my 'theory' about kicking s away from our return men,  I wa mainly talking about the kick offs.  And like I said they may do that routinely. You just stated that, so that must be threw case. As far as the punts, definitely several were just poor  kicks just from watching them.  The ones that were returnable were returned for big yardage as has been the case most of the time this year for the Tigers.  These two have been doing a great job and I am sure  coaches are trying to find ways to keep them from getting that chance.
22. Great game Tigers.  Keep up the good play.  We need to work on kickoff coverage for the nect two weeks though.  I dont know if they do it every week but BC would not kick the ball deep, keeping the ball out of our return mens hands. But they couldnt keep from punting it to our return men.  With Chris and Jordan back there you almost expect a big return every time.  I wonder what is going through the opposing coached heads when they have to punt?
23.
Glad thats all it was, it looked more like a knee issue the way he went down.  I know things would have changed later in the game, but Buna kept the Silsbee offense at bay with the starter in.  I was really impressed with the backup.  After he came in, the Tigers scored on 3 straight posessions.  Give the starter all the rest he needs, let him get ready for the WO-S game and the playoffs.
THe way he went down it did look like a knee, but if you saw him come off the field from the last posssesion he already had the problem.  At the end of that play it appeared that he let go of the ball after he was down and a Buna player saw it and pounced on him and the ball.  He walked off real gingerly after that play.
24. You may have top give WOS the edge in the battle of the defenses but you would also have to give the edge in the offensive battle to the Tigers.  It would be a big suprise for the Tigers to be shut out, too many speedy weapons on that side of the ball just have to give Reed some time.
