I am curious where this game was played? The two schools use different chapters....

Hey guys.............I have some customers coming in to go fishing on Saturday...would like to make sure they catch fish.....not particularly concerned of the type....Would you work out of P>N>park.... or chase the birds...I know that it will be cold Sat....but they are coming from Arkansas and have planned this trip for a month....I will listen to what you have to say!....Soo.........would you try to pick up live bait to insure a catch or just stay with artificial....thanks

I looked for you BOBCAT 05.....YOU should have yelled at me.....I wanted to watch a good girl's game, because I have been asked to call the GIRLS  STATE TOURNAMENT.....I GOT MY LETTER THIS WEEK, and I am so pumped can't eat or sleep...I am so looking forward to AUSTIN.....I hope some of our local teams get to gp..  I had the ymbl final and central looks good. I Thouht the game tonight was well officiated....I miss my friends who are in the other chapter...I hope we can get back together....by the way I think Aimee has really become a leader

BEENINNIKES........THANKS for the compliment on the KOUNTZE/HJ game.  I felt like we had done a good job in a difficult game....tried to be consistant......I promise those guys who called OF/VIDOR last night know whether or not they had a bad night...and if they had a bad night...NO ONE IS MORE UPSET THAN THEY ARE...We as officials live and breath basketball....I  have been doing this for 17 years...and spent many sleepless nights after I had bad games....SO PLEASE DON'T THINK THAT THOSE GUYS DON'T CARE....because they do...we appreciate your input

MY HATS OFF TO THESE COACHES.....It was a pleasure to work for these two gentleman for several reasons...first...we were allowed to do our job without constant interference...second both coaches coached their players not us..third...the players said ""yes sir and no sir'''..a reflection of what they have been taught...fourth..never heard an unpleasant utterance from the crowd. It was also a pleasure to work with Lynn Paul Hadnot (still one of the top officials in the area)...and Bryan Williams(who will be one of the top officials in the area someday)

I HAVE POSTED ON THIS SITE FOR QUITE A WHILE.....It really bothers me when there is information posted that is not correct and it is taken as gospel..1) Nederlands Home chapter is TASO--2) There are more than a few schools being serviced by UIL--they include--5A WESTBROOK AND MEMORIAL--4A--CENTRAL AND OZEN--3A--SILSBEE AND CLEVELAND--2A--NEWTON--DEWEYVILLE--BUNA--KOUNTZE--WARREN--1A--SPURGER--WEST HARDIN--HULL -DAISETTA--COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN --3) I cannot comment on the OF/VIDOR game without seeing the tape,--but I ask  WHAT CONSTITUTES A WELL OFFICIATED GAME?  IS IT NOT SUBJECTIVE JUST LIKE OFFICIATING?..Our crew that did the Kountze/HJ game was blasted on this site by some...yet praised by many others....WHO WAS RIGHT?....We are all entitled to our opinion...but if you are stating something as fact...be sure of it

I am glad to know that this is not beaumont chapter officials.....

NO=LOOK.....VERY GOOD.....YOU ARE RIGHT IN BOTH CASES...first...if you have a foul followed by a tech....this is the order you  proceed.  if it is the 7th foul you would shootone and one....or two shots if it is a shooting foul ....or if it is a foul on a made basket then it would be one shot...followed ny two shots for thetech....after the two techs the ball is put in in the side across from the scorers table.... IN THE SECOND CASE........the official SHOULD NOT GRANT A TIMEOUT UNLESS THE BALL IS IN CONTROL OF ONE TEAM OR THE OTHER.... Would you be so kind to tell me which games these happened in,.....I need to know if they are part of our UIL CHAPTER or TASO.....

THANK YOU.....WHSALUM...coming from you because of my respect for you...I consider that an extreme compliment.....Indeed a very difficult game to call..very much like any playoff game I have ever called.....I have a great deal of respect for both of these schools and their coaching staffs....and when they get together it is always a war..... I ask all of you to remember that we as officials are neutral...We do everything  in our power to do the best job possible....but basketball is the most subjective game there is to officiate....and you may not agree...and that is your right...but always know that we have the childrens best interest at heart.

Actually.....................I haven't replied because the rankings are just now being finished....I wont put them on this site, but you can go and look at them on our website next week.........YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED WHO IS IN THE TOP FIVE!.....Hey man what is your beef?  Who in this chapter ever did anything to make you so angry?....

Here are the schools who will be participating in the YMBL tournament Dec10-12. 1) Silsbee 2) W-O Stark 3) Ozen 4) Central 5) West Brook 6) Nederland 7) P.A. memorial 8) North Shore 9) Westbury Christian 10 Houston Aldine 11 Houston Eisenhower 12 Killeen Shoemaker 13 Killeen Harker Heights 14 Dallas Kimball 15 New Orleans Walker 16 Dallas South Oak Cliff This is the strongest field I have seen at the YMBL in many years.  What do you think?

HOOPS..................This will not be resolved this year. Too many people with too much pride, and not willing to compromise.  The one thing that will help in a resolution for next year is when these same people see how many games we  will lose to outside chapters, because if the coaches can't agree on officials they will have to call Uil and get outside officials to call local games. I think this will happen quite often.  I don't know about the other chapter but no one in our chapter got over 15 games on there schedules.  We are used to having 20-25 games plus tournament games. The guys in the other chapter are all friends of mine, and I hate this.  I hope that there is no negative feelings,because it is going to be hard enough to heal the wounds as it is

I have been officiating for 17 years.....It has never been about personal gain. Please do not group everyone in an organization in the same category. You have your God given right to your opinion, but I would really like an instance when either Coaches or players were treated with disrespect by a member of the Bmt chapter. It just doesn't happen. If taking control of a situation constitutes disrespect than many of our officials are guilty I welcome you to come back to officiating.....No matter what chapter you choose to officiate in. Why did you leave in the first place? TOO HOT IN THE KITCHEN?

They will do you a bang up job., Tell Coach Davis to have a good season, and be sure and tell Carol how much everyone will miss her on the sidelines. The UIL chapter will be working all the 5A games in the area. We will work some 4A.....Mostly Ozen and Central home games. Most all of the 2A and 1A games. Please understand that the majority of the chapter wants one chapter. We just have differences that have not been worked out. I really think that alot of us will be sitting home on game night.

I am sorry....I guess you can say that I am pouting.....It is just that I have officiated for our local 3a district for 17 years. I have always enjoyed all teams in this district both boys and girls. It seems that there is going to be two BEAUMONT chapters in our area. One is UIL and the other TASO. TASO was able to get the district to come with them. I work for the original chapter which is UIL. The leadership in both chapters were unable to heal wounds,soooo it means that you want see me in BRIDGE CITY or WEST ORANGE or ORANGEFIELD or HAMSHIRE orHARDIN JEFFERSON. I WILL MISS WORKING FOR THESE SCHOOLS AND THERE COACHES JOE WHITTED

I had the pleasure of attending the memorial service for 'MOOSE' Jones. I say pleasure because it was one of the most uplifting ceremonies that I have ever witnessed. I am sure that no one who attended left without a change in there attitude toward life. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the coaches and officials who took the time to be a part of this ceremony for Warren. The service was a whos who of area coaches, which it should have been. Warren deserved all the recognition that was bestowed upon him because WARREN JONES WAS A GREAT MAN. I loved this man and it had nothing to do with basketball. It had everything to do with the true worth of this man which was his tremendous heart. I have a daughter who has been battling breast cancer. I NEVER SAW MOOSE THAT HE DIDN'T GIVE ME A HUG AND ASK ABOUT MY CHILD You may miss Warren on the basketball court. I will miss him off of the court Joe Whitted

HEY GUYS.................. Before this gets way out of hand....The Hj/Silsbee situation has nothing to do with the chapter breaking into two. It is just some internal situations which hopefully can be resolved before the season starts I will tell you that I feel that neither group is wrong...but just need to work out some kinks which gum up the works. I hope that cooler heads will prevail and we will be able to settle this without having to air out our dirty laundry in public. old ref

MORE QUESTIONS FROM THE ROOK........................... When working the birds on the lake................I have heard several schools of thoughton what artificial to use...........Some have told me worms........some have said top water........ What is the best arti. to keep loaded on ... and do you keep several rods and reels ready to go with the same bait or different. These may not be intelligent questions, but what I tell the people who I train to officiate...""There are no stupid questions if you don't know....THEN ASK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks again..................you guys have been a tremendous help old ref
