I know Orangefield is young, but they look confused out on the court. I watched them yesterday and they were all over the place. While LCM was like a fine oiled machine, always in the right spot, Orangefield looked like some chickens running around with their heads cut off. Several times the back row was to shallow on the court, they always seemed to run up to close to the net and LCM picked them apart. To many holes on the floor, they give their opponents easy kill opportunities because the floor is wide open. I don't know the game that well, but is this just not coached over there. When they were in the right spots they usually dug the ball, but that didn't happen often. They also would get in each others way a lot, didn't understand that part either. Also it looks like the kids are just going through the motions out there. They play with little or no emotion, while LCM was full of emotion and it showed in their play. It's hard to compare these two teams really because LCM is an established program that's been doing this for years...kind of like Orangefield has been in basketball. Young or not, they have a lot of work to do and I believe it starts with the coaching. Both the coaches and players look like they're trying to coach and play not to make a mistake. Can't coach or play that way and be successful...make it fun again and get back to basics. I thought they made the game difficult at times by trying to do to much...relax and have fun!!!

Heard Danny Faust is interested...believe he use to be at LCM, not sure of that though. I believe Coach Faust is in the Austin area now!!!

is this Saturday, May 30th. Starts around 1pm with the auction starting around 3pm. It's located off of 1442 in Orangefield by the St. Helens Catholic church...it's the old Jewel Cormier park. If you've never been to this event your really missing out. They auction off some unbelievable sports memorabilia and sports related items. Plus all the crawfish you can eat for a small donation. All the money raised goes to a scholarship fund set up for two Orangefield student athletes every year. Someone told me they thought this was like the 18th year...I know that first year they gave away two $500 scholarships...this year they are giving away two $6000 scholarships. Come out, it's a lot of fun!!!

What about Harrell that use to be at LCM...I think he started his coaching career at Orangefield.

Smalley would be a good hire, kids loved him when he was here and we had some dang good offenses under him. Here's some more...

Why are they playing a double header on Friday? Is it just me or does that not make a lot of sense. Why not play two if needed on Saturday?

Hearing a couple of the Orangefield coaches are moving to LCM...not sure who at this time. Also heard Orangefield will be looking for another trainer this year!!!

You beat Orangefield twice by a total combined 7 points.  I don't think you'd beat us again, and I would be willing to put my house and car on HJ beating Kountze by at least 20.  Kountze has NO depth what so ever and you can't stop Moore on HJ.

I know its been a LONG time since Kountze was successful, but don't come on here calling Orangefield who was a tradition of being successful 'idiots' apparently we are doing something right.

I'm hearing...Sam Houston, McNeese, New Orleans and possibly UTA. I believe she will go juco though so she will continue to play all the time and then transfer to a D1 after that. I think that's best for her, but if she does go D1 and it's not Lamar, I hope she goes to a team that plays Lamar so she can put it on them. She has that "it" factor that you can't coach, so Lamar passing on her blows my mind. She would be the 2nd best shooter on that Lamar team right now. If she was 4 inches taller it wouldn't be an issue. Stupid move by Lamar if you ask me!!!
