  1. What was wrong with the umpires? Were they calling too many strikes or not calling enough? The pitchers combined for 26 strikeouts so I am interested in whether or not they are that good - which I think they are - or are the numbers inflated due to bad calls. Somebody that saw the game give me some feedback!
  2. BC in a laugher! 10-0
  3. Eddie Roby? Finally, someone as old as me on this site! Eddie was probably the smallest player on the field but could jump clean over the center and rush a punt! As far as hard hitting, they may not have won very many games but we were always beat up the most after playing South Park in the mid to late seventies! The greenies would put a hat on you!
  4. Hebert - Hands Down! Moseley was a great high school athlete but that entire team was talented. Moseley won the State track meet all by himself his Senior year. 100, 220 (that's yards for those of you under 40), and the Long Jump. Hebert was strong at every position - size speed and great coaching staff. Speaking of great coaching staffs - TJ had a stable full that went on to success at other schools. Dodge is coaching 25 years later running the same base offense and still kicks butt! WOS did have the greatest defense i've ever seen in High School football - without question. BC was a one man show! Boy, though, for the time, what a man!
  5. LM by10 Brenham by 30 I don't like purple!
  6. Anybody remember Louis Landry from Hebert in the late seventies? I have some of his cleat marks still visible today! Also, Bryan Ward rushed for over 3,700 yards in his high school career in an offense that had about four plays!
  7. When he hangs his hat I may tend to agree with you - but not yet.
  8. "...great HS coaches in TX." ???????????? Mighty hefty moniker to live up to!
  9. Who's the other one?
  10. If Brandon's arm is well, he has more junk than his old man! It's a shame he can't throw with the other arm, too. Or can he?
  11. To Retired76, Anybody that has seen Angelle pitch, knows that with him on the mound, BC has the potential to beat anyone, anywhere. I have reservations about their bats when it comes to the playoffs because of the inconsistant pitching in this district. I only hope they live up to their team batting average for the playoffs. Anyway, it takes a great pitcher to get to Austin - but it takes the lumber to bring home the gold. Good luck to both LCM and BC for their playoff run. The game will be good for both.
  12. 1) Matt Bryant for his fourth consecutive of the day in WOS Tourney. 2) David Fry in the Dome - Into the hole in center field; also, I think it was the Texas High School All Star game 3) Ricky Sellheimer - Brenham at BC in 1979 - over the houses in right center; lost that game but paid them back with two in Brenham! 4) Mine in the Certa Tourney in 1980 against TJ in West End Park; in a gale force wind of course!
