Southeast Texas baseball talent in all-star game

Outfielders Rocky Calhoun of Silsbee and Johnny Dishon of Bridge City, catcher Jake Rowell of Little Cypress-Mauriceville and shortstop Braeden Riley of Woodville will participate in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-star games today in Round Rock.

Rowell is on the Class 5A-4A south all-star team. Calhoun, Dishon and Riley are on the Class 3A-A south all-star team.

The games pit south and north all-star teams against each other. Both are at Dell Diamond.

Tucker Muckleroy from Buna pitched 2 innings: giving up 1 hit, 3 K's & no runs !

I would have to nominate Tucker Muckleroy from Buna. He had a great season & was the only pitcher from this area to be selected for the THSBCA Allstar Team.

Wins vs. losses...how far you took your team...ERA...strikeouts, walks, who is still playing, innings pitched, hits/walks per inning......I'm still going with Hales and Thamm @ BH.  ;D ;D

Jasper & Buna are both still in.  I would like to see Reagan & Muckleroy's stats. I know they are both impressive so if anyone has them please post them.

The only thing that matters in pitcher of the year is W's and L's. It dosen't matter how good their stuff is or how many people they strike out or what level they play(2a, 3a, 4a, 5a). Just wins and losses. Look at those and then decide. A great pitcher just knows how to win. So all you Reagan and Muck skeptics might want to check out their records. Those kids just know how to win!!!

oldschoolkat  since when does a school pick their choice of district?  How well would EC play in 3A?  Just a fair question. Why is it so hard for some people to just give credit to great talent & great coaching.

Here are the stats for Buna's 2 pitchers in district:

Brandon Hillin 20 IP - ERA 1.05 - OPP BA .145 - SO 27 - bb 6 - Record 3-0

Tucker Muckleroy 20 IP - ERA 1.05 - Opp BA .096 - SO 34 - bb 8 - Record 3-0

Both guys have given up 3 earned runs each in district!

Let's see why would Kville be so interested in these stats????  Here's some stats for you.... Buna is still undefeated in district.  And if you go to best pitchers in AA you can look at Buna's pitching stats for the year not just this one game. YOu should check it out.. it's pretty impressive.

How about Tucker Muckleroy for the Buna Cougars with another 16 K performance this week against Anahuac. He gave up 2 singles & had 1 walk in a complete game shutout.  With a final score of 6-0 cougars. Way to go Coogs.  6-O in district!!!!

Coogs win hands down.  Deweyville is not near the team predicted.

ha ha ha!! well i dont know about the other ones like sheppards and hillin but tucker muckleroy?? you have got to be kidding me.. is that a joke?? cause last time i checked in kirbyville his curveball was around the low 40's.. they arent gonna be as good as ppl think they are..

If Rhodes aint in............Kville don't have a chance. They will be out played this week and most definitely out coached.

Dude have you seen OF's Qb? He can air it out. Kville QB can't compare but it is great he'll be back. Kville does have speed but no DF. Can't win with weak DF. OF will be prepared and their win last week fired them up. They will play well and will be well coach.......not that trick play stuff. I stick with my prediction. Kville may prove me wrong but we'll have to wait til Friday to see.

We won't have a story on or after homecoming. WOS is a great team and I aint saying we are going to teach them anything but we will play hard. I never said it was. I simply said that we are in the running for playoffs too and we are going to play hard for it. This is a tough district for everyone except WOS. So no one, not even Kville, is a sure thing. This season could surprise alot of people. It already has. No telling what the next few weeks will have in store. There are still alot of tough games to be played and everyone is fighting for the playoffs spots. I wish luck to all.....even with the trash.
